"Hey. What happened here?"

"Well... Mizushino finished telling his story."

Upon arriving, the first thing that Shiro noticed is unsightly crying of Souta. The ones closer to him surrounded him and offered some help. Nevertheless, he is still a crying mess as of now.

"Story?"

"Right. He told us that he is a friend of Setsuna Shimazaki, the creator of Altair. He knew about Altair from a while ago, and only now did he gather his courage to speak up about his past."

Kuroneko began telling Souta's story to Shiro. She kept it short, but the latter understood it perfectly.

"He's feeling guilty that he did not help? This is something... understandable. Though, his actions blinded by jealousy is something detestable."

Shiro has friends. They are the people who would help him when he's in a pinch. He could also say they are the people he views as important. To such trustworthy friends, he would not hesitate to help them back just as how they got his back during crucial times. No matter how far his beliefs are from the norm, this would not change. Yet, Souta abandoned his friend when she needed him the most. That is terrible behavior for him.

When he got jealous because of her talents, he just watched his friend be spurred upon with mud on the Internet. He did not even do a bit of resistance. Nothing.

"That's how we humans are."

"...I guess."

Shiro stopped going to this topic after seeing Kuroneko's eyes. She was also the same as Souta in the past. She was worried by much trivial stuff, was hurt by small things, and looked forward to mundane events. However, everything changed after belonging to the chat group. In exchange for being a part of an amazing journey, she experienced many things that ordinary humans would not. Hence, she retained the ability to sympathize with humans' experiences.

"I will ask him tomorrow. Finding out the past behind Altair's creator is crucial to our success. By the way, what is the name of Setsuna's friend?"

"It's... Shibuya Reo. The guy behind Fate of this world."

"..."

Shiro went silent upon hearing it. For some reason, his intuition told him that something big is hidden within Setsuna's past. His current strength is far comparable to his before, which is why he is taking this seriously. Especially that name, he feels something strange about it.

"Reo... I see. Thanks, Kuroneko."

"No problem. Did you realize something just now?"

"Nope. Nothing. But, I thought of a funny coincidence."

*****

Shibuya Reo. The man behind the successful Fate series. A creator with unimaginable talent. Each of his works is far apart in genre, but he manages to make a masterpiece every time. He is a very popular person in the anime industry. Perhaps, nobody had ever heard of his name at some point. While he only makes an appearance on national television sometimes, it is because he refuses to visit shows that often. He would rather create something new at that duration.

"Reo..."

In front of an unnamed tomb, Altair stood still. It is the tomb of the man to who she and the creator were attached the most. Their feelings are mixed. A part of them loves him as the only friend beside her during those dark times. Although, there is a small part of her that views it romantically. Such is what Shimazaki Setsuna felt when she was 'alive'. Make no mistake, she is still 'alive' right now, just in a different form.

They are fine when that wave of hate was directed at her. They are fine when they are pressured by the growing responsibilities that they shared. They are the finest when those small days lasted. Unfortunately, happiness does not last forever. It only happens in fairy tales, not in real life.

"Why... I want to fulfill her wishes, but I can't..! Not after all of those memories that you've shown me through Setsuna!"

Mixed feelings of anger, sorrow, and self-loathing were heard in her voice. If Blitz is here, he would have comforted her. He thought of Altair as even more tragic than his daughter who suffered an unjust death; one that was made to save the world.

Altair is someone without anything. She has no story. She has no own ideals. She has no dreams. She has nothing.

All that she has right now are 'borrowed' from her creator, Setsuna. By seeing the world through her creator's eyes, her current view of the world was made. Her powers did not come from her, too. That's why to an innocent girl like her, the least that she could do is hold onto the conclusions that she made with her own will.

Shibuya Reo is the only person who held onto them until the end. Even when he–

"What... should I do now? I..."

Confusion clouded her mind. A side of her wanted to fulfill her creator's wishes. On the other hand, the memories that she saw made her hesitate. If things are really like that, would he hate her if she had done it? Ironically, the one who pushed her to this dilemma is her creator... rather, her creator's remnants. She is 'alive' in a sense, but Altair is aware that 'she' is not Setsuna, but someone made from her emotions. A cache from the original memory.

"I will fulfill her wishes... but can't I fulfill mine too?"

Her words fell into a pit of an abyss. It is destined that there would not be a response given back to her. How could a dead man console her?

Helplessly, she sat down on the ground.

Inside the system space, the previous peace was broken with a series of alerts.

[Coming in contact with the S Point...]

[Confirmed Contact. Initiating the designated protocols...]

[Assigning missions... Scheduled.]

[Safety check... Done. Statistics are in match with the predictions...]

Unbeknownst to everyone, a millennia-long plan is about to be enacted–one that is made by the "wise" man of a certain world. Even he did not predict what it would cause. Only...

It will surely serve as a cause for a purpose.
