Elimination Chamber Fest. A three-day event was held by Japan's government to commemorate several series that are very popular in the country. It isn't an exaggeration that hundreds of millions of dollars are poured into this event. The military equipment such as the conversion filters, satellites, broadcast cameras, and surface-to-surface missiles all came from the taxpayers' pockets. If not for the fact that the United States supplied a good portion of it, these would have impacted their country's economy noticeably. This couldn't be helped as they are the first ones to notice Gigas Machina's first appearance.

Fortunately, there weren't any political issues as Japan and US are allies. If it were any other countries that came to know of them, they would have invaded Japan and done whatever it takes to turn this opportunity into their opportunity.

"Romani should be thankful that he's not here."

Shiro thought of Romani's daily habit which is to work-->work-->work-->sleep-->repeat. At other times, he would be skipping sleep to support Ritsuka and Mash from the backlines. Now that he suspects something wrong with Chaldea, his time to rest is reduced even further.

With this special operation, all the creators, editors, directors, scriptwriters, and other production staff of each anime that the creations had come from all worked together to accomplish Elimination Chamber Fest. It is a huge disaster for them mainly due to a single thing: LICENSE.

Each of the anime came from different authors and companies except for Shiro and Norio. They both came from the same company and were tied together with an agreement between Madoka Magica and Magical Slayer. In a sense, they are "related" although not canonically. Hence, the reason why the collaboration got so much hype from these two anime alone.

"Even though it's the morning... I guess everyone is just that tired."

Today is the D-day. The day when the final confrontation will occur. This project that lasted for more than two months—starting from small side stories to actual canon crossovers—reached its peak. No matter where he looks, all the virtual billboards are showing about it. It became too famous to the point that even those who do not watch anime had at least heard of it.

It only helped its popularity further when Shiro's name is listed on the list of staff working on it. Not only was he active in the anime industry, but he also directed several movies that nearly everyone in Japan watched and liked. In fact, this is the turning point for him to be present on national TV, NHK.

(A/N: NHK is Japan's sole public broadcasting station.)

"Everything is already set up..." Shiro mumbled. "Hey. You still good?"

His words were directed towards his former "apprentice", Norio. With his current appearance, he would be mistaken as a walking dead. While his eye bags are already worse, his red eyes worsened his overall looks. Ever since he got the inspiration on how he should go with Mamika's settings and all, he did not care about sleep anymore. To the current him, it is something that would only break through bottlenecks whenever he encounters one.

"Sleep is for the weak... Sleep is for the weak..."

"You know what? You can go sleep in your room first. I'll take care of the rest."

"B-but! Fuku-sensei..!"

Surprisingly, it brought him back to the realm of the living.

"We can't have you like this later tonight, can't we? Would you rather sleep than support Mamika?"

"...Y-you're right..."

In the end, he was convinced to have a long sleep. Though, it is not only him but the entire crew. The creators worked so hard for these two months that their sleep schedule became a mess. Fortunately, things became a lot better when the general flow of this operation was decided. The creations didn't waste their time, too. They practiced with their new abilities so that they can use them properly during the final fight.

For short, nearly everyone was dead tired except a few others—the chat group members. Even so, they took this opportunity to rest for that fight later in the evening. Only Shiro is the one who's left wandering the streets of Tokyo.

Soon, he stopped in front of a convenience store. He needs to buy some stuff that would wake his teammates up in a flash, the can of cold coffee. He also craved for some onigiri after remembering those times as the Commandant when he ate these to finish three piles of paper works to be signed. As for his favorites, it is none other than the tuna filling.

'I'm very buried with work that my [Salted Fish] isn't even working properly...'

While having this thought, he noticed an uncanny person beside him. Realizing who she was, he did not panic and mused:

"Do you want to ask something? Chikujouin-san."

That's right. The person who appeared beside him is the elusive creation whom they could not catch, Magane.

"Oh... You are calmer than I thought."

"Panicking wouldn't do anything well, no? I would just die when you will it."

"Fair point! Anyways, I am wondering if you are confident with it."

"Our preparations?"

This huge operation that is widely spanned is made to defeat a single entity, Altair. Through the power of acceptance generated by the watchers, they would be supported by the thought of 'the main characters will win against their adversaries'. This power of rooting for Selesia and the rest leads to their victory.

However, there is a flaw with this operation. Everyone is optimistic about it, which is why only Shiro could see that glaring hole upon looking at things deeply. Long story short, their success relies on several trump cards that each creator had placed in their crossover stories. There exists one such trump card that is supposed to defeat Altair. But...

What if it fails to defeat her?

He has a feeling that Meteora thought of this too. Though, they are already limited by what they can do. If this fails, there would be zero chance of preventing Altair from destroying all worlds. There's no use in bringing down their morale in the first place.

"It'll be fine."

"What a blinding confidence! I'm surprised!" She replied exaggeratedly. "Hey. Do you think that something interesting would happen? Something that might lead to an unexpected yet favorable outcome."

'..!'

Immediately, he recognized the underlying meaning behind her words. He subconsciously denied this possibility since he calculated most possibilities that could happen in this fight. Knowing what she had done, Shiro smiled before saying:

"No. Don't be ridiculous."

"Heh. I'll be looking forward to her unsightly expression, then!"

After saying that, she happily skipped to the store's exit.

'Did she think the balance needs to be adjusted so she participated?'

Originally, the operation Chamber Fest has a good chance of failure—that is, without Magane's intervention. Since things wouldn't turn out as interesting as she wants if this happens, she buffed Meteora's side to have a better fight against an overtly strong person. He knew it well due to his unique viewpoint that came from the side of a respected wise man. Sadly, Meteora was forced to proceed with these small holes as they have no choice.

'Something unexpected. She should mean 'unexpected victory'. Something interesting. A strong plot armor that could shift the flow of the battle. Tsk, tsk...'

For the nth time, Shiro acknowledged Magane's terrifying ability. It is already on the level of omnipotence, if not greater. That is coming from a character who is originally inside a detective-mystery novel.

Truly, things can exceed his expectations in such an anomalous world like this.

'This will become another insurance.'
