Even though Nirra's weapon was complete, she would have to wait another two years to join the adventurer's guild. During her time there, she learned advanced smithing techniques from her dad, and her mom taught her about the geography of the world. Nirra also made slight adjustments to her flintlock, though adding a sight helped her aim better. With a post mounted at the end of the barrel, this helped her with aiming her firearm.

During the two years, she also managed to make a musket. A longer version of her flintlock pistol, it helps her deal with longer-range targets while using the pistol as a close-range secondary weapon. The musket she wields has a longer barrel and a bigger wooden stock. The barrel was very hard to forge, though, so she used casting techniques to make it. Her mother also helped by making a leather sling to carry the musket around and a leather belt complete with a holster for her flintlock. The gunpowder vials used to fill her weapons with gunpowder are kept on the belt like a bandolier, and the lead balls used as projectiles are kept inside a small bag behind the belt. The bag itself is separated into two compartments: one side for the bigger lead balls used on her musket, and the other side is used as storage for the pistol's lead balls. In total, she has 10 balls in the bag, totaling 20.

She also fashioned a bayonet at the end of her musket if all else failed and she was forced to fight hand-to-hand. She did have a small amount of bayonet training in her past life, but she thought it was best not to rely on it and use the musket from long range.

Ellie also went ahead and forged her own blades. The katana/longsword mix she had was replaced with a long, curved cavalry sword. She also had a sword breaker as her secondary weapon, with gaps between the blades where she could, essentially, break the sword of her opponent or disarm them with it. She also took the liberty to wear basic leather armor, while Nirra preferred mobility since she will be taking out targets from a distance while Ellie would be her vanguard, not letting enemies stray too close to Nirra.

Today was the big day for Nirra and her sister. Now, at the age of 18, the two are finally qualified to register as adventurers. Nirra and Ellie headed out to the adventure guild, where they would register.

When they arrived inside, they were being stared at by some adventurers. particularly Nirra with her strange weapon. The two walked to the front desk, where a guild maid was waiting for them.

"Hello! Welcome to the Redfield Guild! She greeted him, "How can I help you?" She smiled.

"Hello, um, we would like to register for the guild." Nirra spoke. The guildmaid nodded and bent down. She then grabbed two parchments and started writing down some things on the desk in front of her. Once she was done, a minute or so later, she handed the parchments to the two.

"Please write down your basic information and your preferred class; after that, we can conduct the magical compatibility assessment." She said.

The two wrote down their respective parchments using a quill provided at the side. Nirra wrote her class as "Archer" because there isn't any class that involves a firearm. After the two finished, they handed over the piece of parchment to the guildmaid. She examined the papers and took glances at Nirra and Ellie.

"Archer? But where is your bow?" She asked Nirra.

"Uhm, it's just that I use a different kind of bow," she says, motioning at the musket she was carrying.

"That doesn't look like a bow." The guild maid said.

"Uhm, it's more like a custom weapon I made. I can assure you it works," Nirra explained.

She nodded in understanding and entered the room behind her. Once she came back, she was carrying an expensive-looking case. Once at the front desk, facing the two, she pulled out a crystal ball that had ornate decorations at its base.

"Please place your hand on the ball so we may begin the assessment." She said.

"You go first, sis; I'll be right after you," Nirra spoke, turning to her sister.

Ellie nodded and walked past her sister, coming face to face with the crystal ball. This was the first time Nirra would see magic in her past and current lives. Ellie hesitated a bit, but after looking back at her sister's face, she placed her hand on the ball.

The ball flashed two colors: red and white. The guild maid nodded and scribbled some things on the piece of parchment Ellie had given her earlier.

"So the magic spells you are capable of casting are from fire and wind." She spoke out. "You can take your hand off of it now." She added as Ellie obeyed and pulled her fingers away.

When Ellie looked back at her sister, Nirra was standing there with a proud smile and a thumbs up. This was returned with a warm smile from Ellie.

"Next please." The guild maid spoke. Nirra then stepped forward and placed her hand on the crystal ball, just like Ellie did.

The ball flashed three colors: light blue, yellow, and black. The guild maid gulped as she saw the last color and blinked twice to make sure she wasn't imagining things. She managed to compose herself and scribbled on the piece of parchment she was holding.

"So you are compatible with Frost, Lightning, and," she paused at the last one, "Darkness."

"Is there something wrong?" Nirra asked, a bit fearful that her aptitude for darkness magic might be bad for her, her sister, and her family.

"No, it's just, um... There had only been seven adventurers in the past 10 years who were registered with the darkness affinity. She explained. "The researchers in the Arcane School of Magical Arts deduced that the chances of one being born with the darkness affinity are one in 10,000."

"I-I see, I'm guessing information regarding the ability is scarce then?" Nirra asked.

"Yes, though, you could find records of it and its uses in the great library inside the capital." The guild maid said.

After the sudden reaction, the maid then put a stamp on the parchments they had given her and grabbed a tin sheet. She then grabbed a black piece of fabric and placed it in between the parchment and the tin sheet, with the parchment resting on top and the sheet at the bottom. She then waved her hand above the strange sandwich, and the black fabric glows a little. When she removed it, it had the personal information of Nirra inscribed on it. She then did the same with Ellie and stamped both with the guild's crest.

She handed over the piece of tin to Nirra and Ellie as she motioned for them to come and listen to what she has to say.

"Congratulations! You two are now members of the adventure guild. I'm now going to explain to you some important information now that you are an adventurer." She said, "Adventures are ranked as S, A, B, C, D, or E ranks. Right now, you two are starting as "E-rank adventurers." She said as the two nodded and listened. "The higher you rank, the more privileges you have from our guild, but the more dangerous the quests that are available." "S ranks are only deployed to the most hazardous quests that an army of C ranks cannot overcome," she explained further. "For now, you two can only register for E-rank quests, and of course, the more dangerous the quest, the better the rewards. If you want to register, just take a quest from the quest board and bring it here for me to register it. The time limit for the quest is also given and will depend on whether it involves extermination, escort, or just material gathering." She explained

"That's it, and welcome to the Adventures guild!" She smiled, regaining her cheery aura.
