To make the drill bit for the electric motor. She would have to use the electric motor to rotate a high-carbon steel rod and slowly carve out the helical shape of the usual drill.

So to start, she needed a way to attach the high-carbon steel rod that would become the drill bit. She got an idea when she looked at her hand. Lightning magic. She remembered that lightning can be hot enough to melt steel. She would need to put a lot of mana into a tiny point so that the small lightning that she would use would last long enough to weld the steel rod to the rotating rod.

She followed through with it and grabbed the steel rod she needed from the pile. She then sat down, facing the electric motor she had made, and placed the steel rod in contact with the rotating rod. She then closed her eyes and focused on a singular point on her finger. When she opened them, small arcs of lightning flew out of her hand and should be bright enough to weld the two rods together.

She then smirked and put her finger near the point where she needed the two metals to partially melt. The arcs of lightning found their target and immediately started to superheat the steel. Said steel started to partially melt and began to stick to the two rods. Nirra concentrated more as she started moving her finger around the edge of the two rods. As she moved, the lightning on her finger moved with her, around the boundary between the two rods, and left nothing but red, hot, partially melted steel. When she finished, she wiped the sweat from her forehead and took a look at her work. The weld wasn't perfect and had some rough edges, but she was sure it would work by placing pressure on it. She then sat down on the floor, exhausted after using a lot of her elemental mana to power that improvised welding torch.

After a few minutes, she grabbed the chisels used in carving wood and sharpened them on the grinding wheel. Then, she used more copper bars to connect the two points so that only one of her feet would be touching them while she used the other hand to mill the steel into the shape of a drill bit.

She then removed her boots and socks and touched the copper rod below the desk. She then channeled lightning magic into her feet as the electric motor started spitting out the steel rod.

She tested it out first by using the chisel tip to cut off a section of the rod as it rotated. After grinding the steel into the chisel while it rotated, a small bit got cut off in the shape of a disk. Satisfied, she began to carve out the helical shape of the drill bit by tilting the chisel to the side and slowly moving up so that it would form a helical cavity inside the rod. After a few minutes of doing exactly that, she was left with a very nice-looking drill bit.

Shen then sliced it off of the rotating rod and inspected the finished drill bit. She nodded, as it was the right size to drill out the barrel of her firearm. She then made another two drill bits, both with different kinds of tips, to help with the milling of extra parts like the mainspring and the grips, as well as a special one to make the rifling.

She then crafted a mount to fit the drills to the rotating shaft of her electric motor and mounted the drill that would bore into the steel rod and make a hole for the barrel. She grabbed some water and rigged a small mount for the steel rod that would be drilled. It had springs on it, so it would pull the steel rod towards the electric motor so that it would always be in contact with the drill bit.

Nirra breathed out, as she was nervous. She did all the final checks she needed and started the electric motor by means of lightning magic through her feet. She then placed a slightly bigger rod on the spring-loaded mount. She let go of the locking mechanism of the mount, and it immediately recoiled so that it would begin to drill. The whole process produced a lot of heat, so Nirra constantly poured water on the drill bit. It took a while for it to drill because she wasn't using a tungsten carbide drill, which would be a lot quicker than the high-carbon steel she was using as the drill bit.

After a few runs for water as well as 2 hours, the drill bit finally managed to break through the back part of the steel rod. Nirra pulled back the mount and inspected it; she then took out the hollowed steel rod and was satisfied that she hadn't found any cracks in it. She then replaced the drill bit with the special drill bit she made to produce the rifling that would help her with the range and accuracy of her finished firearm. It had a sharp point with gear like teeth that would mill the steel and produce the crevices that the notches in the bullet would follow to spin.

After she attached the special drill bit, she then lowered the speed of the electric motor to about 100 RPM by lowering the input of lightning magic into it. After which, she unlocked the spring-loaded mechanism as the drill started to do its thing. After an hour, it was done as Nirra took her food off of the trigger for the electric motor, pulled the mount back, and locked it in place.

She then inspected the finished product by looking inside and confirming that the rifling was present and was almost perfect. She pumped her fist in joy as she celebrated her achievement. After which she noticed that it was already pretty late in the night, so she stored the finished rifled barrel in a drawer on the crafting table and went upstairs to find her sister already asleep.

Nirra smiled at her sleeping sister and took her place on the bed to end this momentous night.

"One step closer to that revolver," she murmured to herself before dozing off to sleep.
