When the twins arrived home, her mother burst into tears and tackled Nirra. Mofu dodged the fall from both his soul friend and her mother.

"Nirra! Thank God you're alright! You didn't get any injuries, right? No loss of limbs as well?" She frantically checked every part of Nirra's body.

"I'm alright, Mom. Mofu here finished off that deer." Nirra replied, to which Mirabel seemed confused.

"Mofu? Who's that? Your new lover?" She said this as she looked at Nirra with a teasing expression.

"No mom! He's the little fox beside you," Nirra corrected, pouting a bit.

"Mofu?" Mirabel found the small, three-tailed fox, who jumped a little bit when Mirabel turned her gaze towards him.

"This little guy beat that deer." Mirabel said she was skeptical that the little fox had killed that large deer empowered by lightning magic.

"Yeah, mom, it was even hard for me to believe it at first as well," Ellie said as she gently tried to pat Mofu.

"Mofu!" Mofu then ran away and hid himself under Nirra's palm.

"Unfortunately, he's a bit shy," Ellie said, disappointed.

"As long as you're safe, Nirra, and thank you, Mofu, for saving her life," She said, to which Mofu peeked out from Nirra's palm and said:

"Mofu!"

After their small family reunion was complete, Nirra went to the forge to visit her old man, who was waiting for the evening rush in the shop.

"Nirra! You're okay." He said this as he stopped what he was doing and walked up to Nirra. He then gave her a tight hug, and Nirra returned it.

"How did you manage to escape the Sturmhirsch?" He asked as he pulled away.

"Mofu here killed it before it had a chance to finish me off," Nirra explained briefly.

"In that case, thank you, Mofu, for saving her life," Marcus said as he kneeled down to try and pat Mofu.

"Mofu!" But Mofu ran behind Nirra but peeked his small head from the side of Nirra's leg.

"I guess he's a bit shy," Marcus said as he stood back up.

"You should get some rest after all those two days inside a forest alone." He said as he went back to man his post inside the shop.

"You don't need any help, dad?" Nirra asked as she picked up Mofu and noted that he had such fluffy fur.

"Nah, you just rest; I'll handle the shop. I've been doing this since you were a baby, Nirra," Marcus said with a smirk.

"You got me there, old man; I'll go take a nap then," Nirra said, to which Marcus nodded.

She left the forge and went upstairs to her room. There she freshened herself up a bit and took a bath, after which she went to bed with Mofu climbing up and sleeping on her stomach.

Nirra woke up hours later; it was already night, and her family was most likely sleeping. So she woke Mofu gently with a tug on his tail.

"Mofu?...." Mofu sleepily said as he wobbly woke up and got off Nirra.

On the rug beside Nirra's bed, Mofu continued sleeping. Nirra then placed a small blanket over Mofu as the little fox slept quietly.

Nirra then snuck down to the forge without waking her sister, mother, or father. Her main objective is to reach the forge and start crafting a lever-action rifle to replace the broken musket she lost when the Sturmhirsch attacked her. She had reached the forge and lit a small candle on the crafting table to begin the process of making the lever-action rifle.

She put on her apron, which was hanging on the wall to her right, and walked up near the center of the forge. She still remembered the parts needed, and it looked pretty simple. The first order of business was making a larger .44 cartridge to base the diameter of the barrel. With the new electric motor she has, she can just roll out brass sheets into casings instead of using parchment as her casing. So she heated a piece of brass inside a furnace to hammer it into a sheet. Then, Nirra pulled out her makeshift electric motor and attached a special attachment to it that had two roller wheels to squeeze the brass into the shape of the casing. After the brass was malleable. She then used a hammer and an anvil to shape the piece into what resembled a sheet. After it was done, she then used the rollers on the electric motor to roll the sheet into a cylinder. In total, she made 20 of these casings, each one longer than the current cartridge she used on her pistol. Next, she carved a piece of wood to resemble the bullet she would need for it. And used casting techniques to mold the lead she heated earlier into shape. After she had made 20 bullets, she sat down on the crafting bench with all the pieces she needed. The brass case has a small hole in the center of the cylinder where her makeshift primer should be, but Nirra had a different approach. In its place, she put a relatively thick layer of steel that matches the diameter of the hole. She then placed the gunpowder inside the brass casings and fitted the bullet, which was the right size, into the opening of the cylinder to cap it off. She then took measurements of the casing and used the measurements to start drilling the 24-inch barrel for her rifle.

Her goal was to finish the barrel tonight and the entire rifle by tomorrow. So she switched the attachment on her electric motor again and used the drill attachment. She then turned it on by channeling a bit of lightning mana to the copper ports as the drill started spinning. She then grabbed a steel rod and slowly mounted it on the little rack she used when she made the barrel for her revolver. The drill turned the rod into a cylinder and replaced the drillbit with the special drill she made that produced the rifling in her revolver. She then lowered the amount of lightning mana that was being pumped inside the electric motor to spin it slowly as the drill did its thing and made the grooves inside the barrel match the ones on the barrel she had cast earlier. After she was done, she checked for any deformities and was relieved to find none. When she gazed outside the window, she noticed that the sun was slowly coming up, which meant it took several hours to finish the first part of her weapon. So she extinguished the flames that kept the furnace alive and stored the electric motor set up under the crafting table. After cleaning herself up a bit upstairs, she hurriedly got back to bed to go to sleep before her family woke up.
