Without warning, the read-head immediately dashed towards their position. With her daggers clenched, she moved quickly and gracefully around Gareth, who tried to block her way but got distracted by another figure that was about to attack him.

Ellie tried to parry her mad dash towards her sister, but when she tried to swing at her expected location, all she managed to slice off was a few strands of her hair.

"Tch," she heard the red-haired grunt as she made a beeline towards Nirra.

When she was about to strike Nirra with her daggers, Eric managed to parry her strike at the last minute. Sparks from their blades sparked brightly as Eric managed to deflect her strike as we moved her body to the side.

When Nirra was getting ready to shoot her, Eric tapped her shoulder and said, "I'll deal with her; you have your opening. Go save Lady Ameria."

Nirra nodded once and put down her weapon. With Mofu on her shoulder, she called for Ellie as Arrows flew over their heads to nail the hooded men that were attacking them.

"I see an opening," Ellie said as she peeked from beside Gareth's shoulder. "But that mage is blocking the way. Any ideas?" She asked before she turned back to Nirra for a response.

"I have one," Nirra said as she began conveying the plan to bypass the mage and go into the next room.

"When the hooded men start thinning out, go rush towards the door. The mage will focus on you instead, not knowing I'm right behind you. If he goes to attack you, I'll try to hit him back with my rifle, Nirra said.

"Okay, let's do this," Ellie replied with a smirk.

"Mofu!" The small vulpen on her shoulder said.

The two waited behind Gareth for a brief moment before they started thinning out. Magic spells were still being thrown by that mage from up top while Eric dealt with the red-headed assassin, their blades clanging due to the impact they had on each other.

When they finally started thinning out, Nirra gave the signal by tapping her sister on the shoulder. This caused her to start running towards the door at the end of the room with such speed that she was able to dodge attacks from the hodded men that came in between her and the door, even decapitating some along the way.

As expected, the mage saw this and started to cast spells her way. They even heard him shout, "Lucy! The girl is going to escape!"

When Ellie managed to get to the door, she tried her hardest to slowly open it. Nirra was right behind her and started firing back at the mage. Due to him hiding behind a pillar, she was unable to hit him directly, but she was able to pin him long enough for Ellie to open the door.

When the twins managed to get past them, Lucy sighed in annoyance as she blocked Eric's attack. The latter had a smug smirk across his face.

"Don't be so smug!" She shouted as she leapt and tried to stab Eric in the chest, only for it to be parried.

"You're a real cutie, though. Too bad you're working for these guys. I really would have asked you out." Eric let out a sigh of his own as he kicked Lucy in the shins, making her stagger before following up with a horizontal slice to her abdomen.

Eric noticed that his opponent was blushing—not a lot, but barely visible on her face. The two continued to fight as Hildia and Shale continued to finish off the remaining hooded men that were attacking them earlier. Hildia even pinned down the mage that was on top of the elevated platform. The cracking sound of wood being damaged when spells hit it, along with the chanting of the names of the spells, echoed through the hallway.

"Shael, do you think you can curve your arrows around corners?" Gareth asked as he started pushing back against the bodies of the hooded men in front of him.

"Yes, but we need to get a bit closer," she said as she continued to pile bodies in front of Gareth.

"Consider it done!" Gareth shouted in his deep voice and started pushing the hooded men back more vigorously.

Back at the twins, they managed to enter a large room. The sound of their steps echoed inside the large room, while In the middle was an all-too-familiar summoning circle that was drawn using blood.

"It's almost the same one as the one we found in Redfield," Ellie said with her sword drawn, ready for any attacks that may come their way.

"We need to find the summoner to stop it." Nirra then looked around the room, only to find it pitch black.

When they stepped closer to the center of the room, torches suddenly lit up around the circumference, giving light to what was inside. With his fur stood straight, Mofu jumped down from Nirra's shoulder and started growling at the people infront of them.

There were several hooded figures, along with one that was standing beside a familiar face on top of a small elevated platform at the far edge of the room.

"Nicholas!" Ellie shouted as she clenched her sword tighter.

"Well, well, well, if it isn't the twins," he said with that punchable smirk on his face.

"I'm a bit confused as to why your sister over there is not surprised at least a bit." He then looked at Nirra and clenched her shotgun.

"I'm not really surprised considering your bratty personality," She said.

"Where are you keeping Lady Ameria!?" Ellie then shouted as she deflected an incoming spike that was aimed in her direction. It came from the hooded figure that stood beside Nicholas.

"Defeat us in a battle, and I may answer that question, and if you're wondering, no, I'm just an adventurer doing a quest for money," He said as he stepped down the stairs.

Ellie and Mofu were getting ready to attack when Nirra stopped them with her arm.

When Nicholas reached the front of the group of hooded men, he pointed a sword at Ellie.

"I may have just bribed my way through the ranks, but you'd be a fool to think I didn't pick up any sword training, he said as he sharpened his gaze.

"Bring it on!" Ellie shouted as she pulled out three throwing knives from her bandolier.

"With pleasure!" Nicholas then started charging at them with the group of hooded men behind him, the thunder of many footsteps echoing around the room as they charged.
