The man known as the former guildmaster let off an angry yell that caused the room they were in to shake once again. Small rocks fell from the ceiling as once again he unleashed the same attack that was able to pierce the armor and skin of Nicholas just earlier.

One by one, a trail of spikes traveled across the floor and reached the person on the frontline, Gareth.

Gareth held his ground with his teeth gritted; splinters of wood can be seen at the moment of impact. Which was a bad clue that they managed to pierce his armor.

Gareth then recoiled backward as he checked his entire body for any damage. Luckily, the only things that he received were dents in his armor and no noticeable wounds or gashes.

Ellie and Eric took the opportunity while their opponent recovered from just casting that powerful spell at them. Eric's blade lit up with a green glow as he shouted. "Wind cutter!"

Ellie's sword then combusted in a beautiful display of raging fire. The blade even made the cracking sound that firewood makes. The room was lit up by her display, and the only shadow they saw was the one behind them. "Blade Ignition!!"

The two scored a direct hit on their enemy, but they were stopped midair just as they were about to cut his skin. A barrier of some sort can be seen glowing purple where their attack failed to hit the former guildmaster.

"Fools!" He shouted as he sharpened his eyes as a pulse of dark energy reverberated from his body, which made Ellie and Eric jump aside to avoid getting hit. His attack traveled to the ceiling and made some rocks fall to the ground with a resounding thud.

The man turned his head away from his opponents and tried to grab the bottle that contained Nicholas' blood, but when he was about to reach it, two fireballs hit his body, which made him stumble a little. He turned his head back towards wherever the two fireballs came from and saw a small mage and a vulpen that were on either side of Gareth.

"He's weak to ranged magic attacks!" screamed Shael as she closed her eyes. Glowing green energy can be seen travling up her arm and into the arrow she was getting to release. The arrow glowed the same bright green color as she opened her eyes and released the arrow.

Said arrow went flying in the air and nailed the man, but was blocked by the magic barrier that protected him from the attacks from Eric and Ellie earlier.

He made a slashing motion with his hands, and a wave of dark energy followed and traveled through the room, which was aimed at Shael. She managed to roll to the side in the last minute before it hit her. The room once again rumbled from his attack.

Nirra observed the events that were happening before her eyes and turned to Mofu, who was preparing to shoot another fireball.

"Mofu! Go fetch!" Nirra said as she nodded towards the bottle that their enemy had dropped earlier.

"Mofu!" His secondary colors changed blue as lightning engulfed his small body. Without any time to waste, he instantly bolted into a sprint empowered by lightning mana.

"Oh no, you do-!" Their enemy tried to attack Mofu but was stopped because of Ellie and Eric's hit-and-run attacks.

Nirra let off some shots of her own from the confines of what was left of Gareth's sheild. She fired shot after shot of .44 rounds from her rifle, but it only hit him and did little to no damage. Even so, they were doing their job of distracting him from Eric and Ellie's efforts to attack him.

"Enough!" Their foe shouted as a wave of dark energy pulsed from his body, knocking everyone down to the ground, including Mofu, who already had the bottle in his jaw.

The former guildmaster approached Mofu, who got back up and tried to run away, only to find a dark barrier blocking his way.

Ellie and Eric suffered a bit of damage because they were knocked midair and bumped into the wall, but they immediately got back up and resumed their assault on their enemy.

"Mofu! Crush the bottle; don't let a drop of blood enter the summoning circle!" Nirra shouted as she got back up and started dumping her magazine to help distract their foe.

Shael and Hildia also recovered and started bombarding him with fireballs and magically enhanced arrows, which made him stumble back. Along with constant attacks from Ellie and Eric, he stumbled back further and further, which allowed Mofu to crush the glass bottle in his jaws.

Blood trickled down his lower jaw as he escaped back to Nirra's side using a bit of lightning magic.

"NOOOO!" He shouted while he covered his face due to the constant attacks by everyone. "If I cannot summon my brothers into this world, all of you will die here!" He shouted, and a black mist covered the entire room.

With zero visibility, Ellie tried for a hit where the man once was but only felt the shadows coming across the room.

"Where is he!?" She shouted.

"Ellie! Behind you!" Hildia shouted; she saw him preparing an attack behind Ellie using her mana sense.

Elie immediately spun her bodu to deflect the attack. Sparks of orange can be seen, which momentarily lit up the smoke-covered room.

She then walked around the room, preparing for another attack, but when she bumped into Nirra, who had her rifle and bayonet in hand, Ellie was about to attack her own sister due to being started, but stopped midway the moment she saw her face.

"Sorry," she said. She heard a noise from their flank, and both twins turned their bodies towards the source of the sound.

"What's it going to take to kill this guy?" Ellie asked in irritation as she kept her guard up for any more incoming attacks.

"I may have a solution; we just need to regroup with the others," Nirra replied as they stumbled through the darkness together and found Gareth laying on the ground with many wounds on his armor.

"Gareth!" Ellie said as she and Nirra ran towards his side and kneeled down to try and help the man.

"I'll live; I've suffered worse hits than this," Gareth said, reassuring them.

"Where are the others?" Nirra asked as Eric stumbled on their location while deflating another hit.

"Eric, where are the others?" Ellie asked as she stood up and turned up her guard for more surprise attacks.

"They're right behind me," he said as he pointed a thumb behind them, and out of the darkness came Shael, Hildia, and Mofu.

"How are we going to beat this guy if he keeps his shield up while using sneak attacks?" Ellie asked as they huddled together with Eric protecting them.

"I have an idea, but I need you and Eric to stop him from moving," Nirra said.

"Easier said than done; he moves too fast to pin down," Ellie commented.

"I-I'll guide you two; he's currently waiting for one of us to stray away from the party," Hildia said as Ellie and Eric nodded.

"Sure hope your plan works, sis," Ellie said as she ran into the thick black smoke. Eric stayed back so he could jump in for the assist. Nirra kneeled down on the floor with Shael; the latter joined her so she could help her with the shot.

"W-wait for it…" Hildia said as he saw his magical signature preparing to attack.

When she saw him launch an attack, Hildia's eyes lit up, and she yelled. "Now! Behind you!"

Like earlier, Ellie twisted her body. Her blade met whatever their enemy was using, and in a brief moment, he staggered back. Eric then jumped in and took a slash at his body. As expected, it hit the magic shield like earlier, but this time it made him stumble a bit.

Nirra took a deep breath and closed her eyes. She then focused her lightning mana on the trigger.

'Remember what Hildia said; use your imagination' she thought as she breathed out and closed her eyes.

Small bits of lightning traveled down her arm and into the trigger of her weapon. The yellow lightning turned red the moment it made contact with her firearm. The firing chamber now glowed a bright red as it was charged with lightning mana.

"Now Nirra!" Eric shouted as they managed to pin the man with constant barrages of attacks. After he staggered for one last time, Ellie and Eric immediately jumped to the side to avoid Nirra's attack.

Shael moved the barrel of her gun to adjust a tiny bit, and she motioned for Nirra to fire. Nirra opened her eyes, which were now bright red, and whispered.

"Flash Discharge"

When she pressed the trigger, the hammer slammed into the firing pin, which ignited the gunpowder that was in the cartridge. A glowing red bullet shot off from the barrel at such high speeds that it appeared to be a beam of dark red light with accompanying  lightning trails in its wake complete a bang that sounded close to a thunder. Dust from the ground got kicked backed and the ground shook violently.

The bullet immediately penetrated through their opponent's magic shield and through his head. The moment it hit, the black smoke dispersed, and they were left shocked by the figure of the man with a hole through his head. No blood leaked because the superheated lightning-enchanted bullet cauterized the wound as it went through the man's skull. Without a functioning brain, the demon's connection to his puppet was broken, and what was left fell limp to the floor, unmoving. Nirra fell limp herself afterwards and kneeled down on the floor. She had exhausting almost all of her elemental mana and was left incredibly low on stamina.
