While Nirra was busy collecting the organs for her experiments, something was brewing far from her current location. Inside a rather dark room, surrounded by pillars with torches on top illuminating the surroundings, were the bodies of six half-naked women in the middle of an all-too-familiar summoning circle. The bodies were full of cuts and bruises, with a twisted insignia carved into their forehead glowing a menacing red color. Two hooded figures were seen walking up towards the circle. One turns to the other and says,.

"Is the barrier up?"

"Yes, my lord. The barrier is up. Those prists wouldn't have a single clue about our movements," the other hodded figure replied.

"Good, start the ritual," the other figure said. Dozens of hooded men suddenly appeared out of the darkness. The room was slowly filled with the murmur of the hooded men as the blood from the women drooled into the crevices of the summoning circle and, like before, started glowing a menacing red.

The chanting got louder and louder as the ground started to shake. As they reached the loudest point of their chants, a fire portal appeared in the center of the circle. From there, a female figure stepped out of the portal with her foot and head held straight. Her body was beautifully seductive, with voluptuous proportions that every man would find enticing, along with a firery red skin, complete with memorizing purple eyes. Her hair let loose behind her back, and the tips were a beautiful purple. Two thin horns curved backwards, indicating her place of origin, and a long black tail that ended in a heart-shaped spade were behind her back, along with a pair of bat-like wings just above her buttocks and a heart-shaped symbol located just above her pelvic area. The difference between this type of demon and the other one from earlier is that this one has a purple hue at the tip of the tail, wings, and horns. Her outfit consisted of black-laced lingerie under a black coat that hugged her curves, along with a black chocker.

She walked up to the men in front of her with a sway in her hips and a confident smile. As she was about to reach for their faces to cup them, she was met with a sting in her wrist.

"I knew you would try such things, so I set up a barrier," the hooded man from earlier said.

"Well played," the demon said with an enchanting voice. "So, what is your purpose in summoning me?" she asked before relaxing her body and placing a hand on her hips.

"I only ask you to do whatever I want," he said flatly.

"And what do I get in return?" she replied, her smirk from earlier disappearing.

"The Crimson Maiden," he said without any emotion.

"Oh?" She looked at him with much interest the moment she heard the words.

"Yes, if you do what I say. I promise you that the crimson maiden will be yours to bring back to the underworld," he said before smirking below his hood. "Just imagine it, getting the favor of the mighty demon lord. All the power you could get from just this little transaction of ours," he continued with a charismatic voice.

"Let me think about it for a little while." She then held her chin while looking at the ceiling for a couple of minutes. She then stared back at him with a smirk.

"If you could provide me nourishment so I don't have to go hunting, then sure, let's make a contract." She held out her hand as fire accumulated on her palm. The next second, a piece of parchment paper with burnt edges appeared in her hand.

The man looked at his colleagues behind him before nodding slightly. The others noticed this and disengaged the barrier separating the man from the demon.

"Just sign here, and it would be official, sweetie," she bent down, exposing a lot of her cleavage while she presented the parchment paper.

The man was unfazed, though, as he took the paper along with a quill he brought and quickly signed it, his signature burning into the paper.

The demon smiled as she rolled up the paper before it combusted into flames, disappearing without a trace in her palm.

"By the way, I never caught your name," she asked while staring at the man with a curious expression.

"You can call me'shadow' for now. My identity must remain a secret for our operations to succeed," he said while he turned his back towards the demon. The demon replied with a shrug.

"Now then, I must feed. Traveling from here to the underworld made me very thirsty," she said before licking her lips.

Back with Nirra, she was back in Aeris from the quest earlier. Currently, she was examining the goo she was able to recover from the bodies of the flame salamanders inside her inn room. While the small fox, known as Mofu, was busy grooming his fluffy fur because he was involved in a battle with the escaping salamanders.

A crow suddenly collided with her window which left cracks and startled both Nirra and mofu. The former relaxing as she understood what happened.

"Hmmm, I guess I'll contact the front desk to get that fixed" Nirra paid no more heed to it and went back to her business.

'Interesting,' Nirra thought as she slowly massaged the goo between her fingers.

'This has the same consistency as nitrocellulose, and it is flamable. A small sample like this could burst into flames just by a single source of fire. I wonder if I can use this as a substitute to Nitrocellulose, or maybe something even more potent. Napalm' she thought to herself.

She pushed herself back and looked towards the pile of frozen organs from which she was able to extract the goo.

"I need an alchemist's help," she said to herself.

'But production of smokeless powder can wait since I need special equipment found in a forge. I can't keep renting at Dragon's Breath Forge since they do not have the special tool I need. A mechanical press that presses the mixture of nitrocellulose, diphenylurea, calcium carbonate, tin extract, and talc into flakes that would be the final product, called smokeless powder. I can use it greatly improve my progress' She thought whilst holding her chin.

She then stared at her Model 1873, which had a bayonet attached to it, and thought.

'For the meantime, I think I should train with a spear. I can't keep relying on Ellie to support me in close quarters combat.'
