"So when is she coming?" Ellie held her head with her hands while looking at the guild quest board with bored eyes.

"Ameria said to wait here," Nirra replied as she turned to face her sister after giving Mofu some well-deserved head rubs.

"We've been waiting for four hours now! We even ate lunch here!" Ellie exclaimed and pointed at the pile of plates that had yet to be picked up by the barmaids.

After deciding on wanting to go through spear training, she informed their resident S-rank adventurer about her decision, hoping that she would know someone in this rather large city.

"I know just the person," Nirra recalled Ameria saying, after which she was told to wait in the guild.

Ellie was getting rather bored for the past 4 hours with her constantly trying to get her sister to go outside the guild to do something other than wait. Nirra just replied, "We'll miss them," every time she spoke with her. Ellie just sighed heavily with a reply.

The doors to the guild suddenly opened as the familiar figure of Ameria, covered in her usual cloak, entered with a guy who had brown hair and a short beard on his face. His body is covered in two sets of chainmail armor and regular plate armor, along with a green chestplate with the flag of the city on his upper left breast and a barbed steel spear mounted on his back.

The two approached the twins as Ameria presented the man beside her.

"Good afternoon, you two. This gentleman right here is Raffen Speer. He's the captain of the knight regiment in the city," Ameria said whilst gesturing at the man.

"Oh, come on, Ameria, don't be so formal." Raffen shrugged his shoulders with a smirk.

"Might I remind you I'm in puplic? As an S ranker, I have to maintain some sort of elegance." Ameria frowned a bit with pout as she stared at the man beside her.

"You two seem to know each other a lot," Ellie commented as she raised her head.

"Ah, we go way back. Back when she was at the captial during her S ranker training," Raffen said while he was reminiscent of the past.

"Yes, he was in charge of training young recruits back in the capital. His specialty, if you couldn't tell, is the spear," Ameria added.

"You wound, Ameria. You visited your friend after like 9 months away and immediately wanted to cash in the favor I owed you," Raffen said in a sorrowful tone, but the girls see right through it.

Ameria sighed as she patted his back. "Look, let's just go through with the first day of training, alright?"

"Alright, but you're going to call us even," Raffen said as he turned his attention back to the twins.

"So what may your names be?"

"Nirra Agustine," Nirra replied simply without any emotion.

"Ellie Agustine." Ellie also replied with a slight smirk.

"They're twins?" He turned his head towards Ameria.

"Yes, and Nirra is the one that is asking about the spear training," Ameria replied.

"Alright then, follow me near the knight station. There's a field there we can practice on. I already ordered my men to prepare it." Raffen then gestured for them to follow him.

Mofu jumped on Nirra's shoulder as she, Ellie, and Ameria followed the man outside the guild.

They walked down the streets of Aeris, going across multiple houses that were getting shorter and shorter as they neared the wall that surrounded the city. Once they reached the base of one of the walls, they spotted a station with an empty clearing in front of it. Different weapons were already on display as the field was cleared and ready for a person to use them. As they got closer, they crossed paths with more and more knights. Each one saluted their superior until he told them to ease themselves and continue on with their assigned task.

As they stepped inside the field, Raffen turned his head towards Nirra. "Alright, first order of business. Let's get warmed up now. So go do 20 laps around the perimeter of the field."

"We'll be over there waiting, sis," Ellie said as she pointed at a bench that was near the fence separating the city from the field.

"C'mon mofu." The small fox jumped down from her shoulder and walked with her sister to sit on the benches.

Nirra did some stretching first before she started running around the field. After about 15 minutes or so, she has completed her task. She stood in front of Raffed with sweat going down her forehead, and her breathing was heavy.

"Alright, after that, what kind of spear are you planning to use? We have to know to tailor your training towards the spear you want," he said with his arms crossed.

"I want to use this," Nirra said, showing her rifle to Raffen. Of course, the rifle already has a bayonet attached.

"Strange, I've never seen a spear like this. May I?" he said, displaying his arms as if he wanted to hold Nirra's weapon.

Nirra obliged and gave him her rifle for him to inspect.

"I see, a little heavy on the back, but it is usable. This weapon would be ideal for stabbing and going for the necks of enemies while also being perfect for blocking." He finished his assessment before handing it over to Nirra.

"Alright, I think I got your training set. The first one is to engage in simple stabbing attacks before moving onto more complex attacks. You could use it as a slashing weapon, but the added weight on the back will make you not rely on that skill often, but nevertheless, I will teach you how to slash in case you need it," he said before grabbing the spear that was behind his back.

"First, do the attack. Use your dominant hand to grab near the back of the spear since most of the power is going to be from there, and your other hand to help with aiming the tip of the spear towards your enemy." He slowly placed his dominant hand on the spot near the end of the spear, and his other hand bore the tip. Nirra copied his movements and faced the same direction as he did.

"Now, to make a perfect thrust, move your dominant leg backward just a tiny bit, and with all your might, thrust the spear forward." He then thrust the spear with all his strength, and in a flash, the spear was thrust forward with great speed.

Nirra copied his movements, although they were a bit shaky, but she was still able to thrust her bayonet forward.

"Good, now do that about 200 more times before your body is accustomed to it," he said with a friendly smile, but Nirra's eyes widened at how many times she had done it.

"This is going to take a while...." Nirra said to herself in dismay.
