For the next 3 weeks, Nirra trained with the spear, starting early in the morning and well on the way to noon. Raffen pushed her hard, with multiple sets of physical exercise and combat training to go with it, and after that, advanced attacks and parry training. Today, Nirra was busy sparring with the knight captain in the noon sunlight.

"Very impressive, Nirra; you have improved a lot in the last three weeks," Raffen complimented with a smile as he deflected a thrust from Nirra's bayonet. "But." His smile suddenly vanished into an emotionless line as he used Nirra's own momentum to make her trip and fall to the ground. When Nirra looked up at her trainer, all she could see was the tip of his spear.

"Still sloppy." He dismissed his spear as he offered a hand to help Nirra up. She later picked up on his offer and stood up on her own two feet.

"Remember, do not put all your strength into a singular attack. Your enemy could use the brief moment of you recoiling for him to make a move on you," Raffen said before patting her shoulder. "Compared to my students back in the capital, you're really learning quickly, and I think you would be a capable spearman in the future," he reassured her.

"Thank you for helping me train," Nirra smiled, which caused Raffen to return it with his own.

"I think that should be good for today. Get rest and head toward home. Now if you excuse me, I have a butt ton of paperwork to sieve through," he sighed before turning his back towards Nirra.

Just as Nirra was about to take a rest on the bench, a knight ran up to his captain with a worried expression.

The knight saluted before he frantically said. "Sir! The capital requests your presence in the grand knight hall!"

"Calm down; why are you so scared?" he asked, puzzled as to why his night would be worried over such a mundane task.

The knight breathed deeply before answering. "Sir, it is about going to war with the neighboring kingdom."

Raffen's eyes widen with such a declaration. Why would the king of the Praevali Kingdom, known for his peaceful nature with all the surrounding kingdoms, want to suddenly declare war on the neighboring Narunada Kingdom? Something just doesn't add up, but as a knight, it is his duty to answer the call to the capital.

"Alright, send the message that I will be there in a week. I have to prepare to leave." The knight then saluted and left. Raffen then faced Nirra, who was listening to their conversation.

Raffen sighed and said, "I guess we have to cut your training short."

"I know; don't worry, though; I'll keep training on everything you have taught me," Nirra replied with an understanding smile.

"Heh, you're a lot like Ameria a few months ago. If you are planning on coming to the capital, be sure to visit me at the Grand Knight Hall. I'm sure all the other captains would like to know you." He then ruffled Nirra's already messy and sweaty hair.

"Be sure to go do some good out there, kid." He then turned his back towards her and walked away with a backhanded wave.

Nirra returned to the inn, where Ellie and Ameria were waiting for her. The duo was already set to do a quest.

"Welcome back, sis." Ellie greeted her sister.

"Mofu!" And Mofu rushed up to her and sat on his usual spot. On her shoulder.

"Did you two know the news?" Nirra asked as she sat down with her party.

"News? What news?" Ameria asked, puzzled.

"It's about our kingdom going to war with the neighboring kingdom," Nirra answered with a frown.

"That is completely unheard of. Are you sure this is trustworthy?" America asked in disbelief.

"Yes, it's from a knight who informed Raffen to report to the captial," Nirra answered as she leaned slightly forward on her seat.

Ellie looked at Ameria before asking. "Hey Ameria, what is the guild's policy during wartime?"

"The guild does not pick any sides and stays neutral over the course of the entire war. Things like assassination requests and working for an army of a nation are banned by the guild, and anyone who is caught in such an act will face severe punishment," Ameria answered.

"I see, then let's just hope this war doesn't affect our way of life," Nirra announced as the two of her companions agreed.

"Now, c'mon! We gotta secure a quest! We haven't done one in a while now." Ellie motioned for them to leave.

"Didn't we do a wild beast extermination just yesterday?" Ameria asked, to which Ellie replied. "Okay, it felt like a long time." Ameria just laughed at the younger twin.

"Let me get my gear first." Nirra then hurriedly went upstairs to grab ammunition and a revolver from her room before she came out and locked the door.

The adventurer's guild was in the same building they have been inside dozens of times now. Only this time, there was a smaller crowd than usual. As they lined up for the guild quest board to pick a job, the massive doors of the guild suddenly opened, and a team of four Paladins entered, their armored boots clattering as they walked inside. They were escorting a man in white and golden robes. Everyone's eyes turned to the door, and their eyes opened wide with shock.

The preist in the center suddenly motioned for his escorts to stop as he pulled down his hood and revealed an old complexion with a long beard reaching his neck and white hair on his head.

"Attention, Miss Nirra Agustine!" He called out as he searched the surroundings for the person he was sent to look for.

"Yes?" That would be me." A black-haired girl came out with a fox on her shoulder, along with another girl with shorter hair and a person wearing a cloak.

He turned his head toward the girl and said, "You are being called to the capital by Grand Preist, Francis Mikhail III, to discuss some urgent matters with you."

"Please pack your things; we're leaving now."
