“What happened?”

When Garlan returned with the little cub in his arms, it caused a turmoil in the greenhouse.

Probably knowing that it was in trouble, when the little cub was put down, it circled around Garlan’s feet without whimpering.

When Garlan was picked up by King Camos and was about to leave, it walked a few steps behind Camos with his short legs, but was stopped by the middle-aged maid at the door. It sat on the ground with its big eyes gazing at Garlan who was leaving, and the fur all over its body wilted. It looked a little pitiful being abandoned.

Garlan, who was hurriedly carried back by King Camos, was first sent to the bath by a group of young maids. He fought hard not to let the maids help him wash him from head to toe and because of this, the maids laughed for a long time.

Although physically he was a child, his mental age was already that of a young man who was about to reach adulthood. If the years of rebirth were counted, he was actually an adult.

How could he have the cheek to let the maids who were still young females rub and touch him all over?

However, although the young maids did not help wash him, the small wounds on his arms and legs were still carefully cleaned by the maids to prevent sand and dust from staying in the wounds.

After this tossing about, the sun was already slanting to the west, and it was evening.

Little Garlan, who was washed clean and back to being fair and delicate, came to the side hall. On the high platform covered with white soft cloth, King Camos was sitting cross-legged.

A tempting aroma came out, and all kinds of delicacies were displayed on exquisite jade plates and placed in front of King Camos.

When Garlan entered, King Camos was sitting there, holding a piece of parchment in one hand and looking at it while holding a spoon in the other. After some time, he would randomly stuff a few mouthfuls of food into his mouth, chew twice, and then swallow. His posture was crude, but he was not mindful of his own appearance.

The servants beside them stood calmly and quietly on both sides. Obviously, they had long been accustomed to their King’s behavior. When Camos finished reading, he grabbed a quill pen, quickly wrote a few words on it, then tossed it to the servant who was waiting next to him. The attendant proficiently stretched out his hands and caught the scroll that was flying in an arc through the air without changing his expression. After bowing to King Camos, he quickly walked away with the scroll.

Camos turned his head, stepped off the platform, and strode towards Garlan.

His gaze swept across Garlan’s body and paused when it fell on the bruise on his right arm. In fact, they were all just abrasions, but because Garlan’s skin was originally pale and tender, the bruises seemed a bit scary.

Camos stretched out his hand and raised his little brother. He turned around, put him on the edge of the high platform, then turned his head to signal for the head doctor who was waiting to the side.

The head doctor in white robes who had been summoned long ago bowed in respect, then stepped forward. The female personnel, who’d come with him, had already picked up ointments and other therapeutic items and followed. Then, at the head doctor’s order, the two female doctors held Garlan’s arm and gently applied the transparent and colorless creamy ointment to his wound.

Garlan was sitting on the edge of the high platform, both hands being grasped, and could only be at the mercy of these people.

A tempting fragrance came, and he turned his head subconsciously. The dazzling array of delicacies placed on the white cloth came into his sight.

He gulped and swallowed his saliva. A child’s body was not easily hungry, but he was tossed around the whole afternoon. His wounds didn’t hurt much after he took a bath. Now that he saw so many delicious foods, Garlan immediately felt his stomach growl.

However, as two female doctors were wiping him with ointment, and both arms were held by them, he had no hands to eat at all. He could only look at the food that was right in front of him. He could only see, but couldn’t eat. This was a kind of suffering.

Another scent came in and Garlan swallowed again, looking away with difficulty, no longer gazing at the food that tempted him.

However, as soon as he turned his head, King Camos, who noticed his movements, laughed and directly scooped a bit of meat soup with a silver spoon and held it up to his mouth. Seeing this action, it could be seen that he was actually going to feed him by himself.

Garlan was dumbfounded by the silver spoon that suddenly came over. The tip of his nose was surrounded by the attractive fragrance of the meat soup.

He resisted the desire to swallow the food just before his mouth and shook his head.

“Don’t need.”

He was not really a child, and he always felt a bit embarrassed to be fed like this.

He thought with forbearance, waiting for the medicine to be applied.

He shook his head again and said, “I’m not very hungry yet.”

As soon as the child fell silent, his stomach growled shamelessly in front of its owner.

Garlan, “…”

King Camos raised his eyebrows, and the maids next to him covered their mouths and let out low giggles.

Anyway, as his face was almost lost, Garlan simply broke the jar1, opened his mouth, and swallowed the meat soup on the silver spoon.

Camos fed him a mouthful, and he bit into the meat.

It’s okay, I’m just a kid.

At least in the eyes of others, this was not shameful.

He comforted himself while being spoon fed by Camos.

Fortunately, although the child’s body was not easily hungry, his appetite was also small. Garlan ate quickly, and then shook his head and rejected the food Camos was still passing over.

Up till the point when he was full, the two females who were still massaging his bruises with ointment, didn’t seem as if they’d be stopping any time soon. At first it was a little painful, but then with the power of the medicine, it dissipated. He didn’t feel pain anymore. Being massaged by them made him a little drowsy.

Just when his little head couldn’t help dropping and falling asleep, Ziemuer brought Heimos to see King Camos, and it immediately drove all thoughts of sleep away.

Obviously, among those four candidates, the final winner had already been decided.

Galan knew it was Hiemos without even thinking about it.

Sure enough, after King Camos nodded his permission, Ziemuer came in, followed by the young man Garlan expected. However, at the moment, Heimos’ appearance was really embarrassing.

The light-colored clothes were stained with dirt and dust, along with many black and white spots, and there were tear marks in many places. The trousers on the right leg were torn apart from below the knee by a large opening, revealing his skin to be a deep purplish blue. Heimos’ black hair was almost wet with sweat and the corner of one of his eyes was red and swollen. The arms and exposed shoulders were all bruised purple, and there was a long scar along his neck.

The young man came in behind Ziemuer, his gaze swept away, and fell on King Camos.

The setting sun shone in obliquely from the fiery red horizon, across the tall cylinder, and fell on half of Heimos’ handsome face. Garlan saw the golden-red eyes that the light had fallen into. It was as if at this moment, there was a glowing fire cloud on the horizon that entered into the depths of his pupils, billowing and burning.

That was ambition, that was desire.

Garlan’s golden pupils shrank unconsciously.

The black-haired boy below was like a fierce beast that was growing up, staring at him, wanting to swallow everything that he saw in front of him.

After all, he inevitably stood opposite this man.

And this time, could he defeat this terrifying monster?

Or would he be bitten again by this creature?

A cold thing suddenly touched his tight lips, startling Garlan who was thinking deeply. He subconsciously raised his eyes and saw a malachite2 green glass cup stuck to his mouth. There were tiny crushed ice floating in the light-colored juice in the glass.

He opened his mouth subconsciously and was fed a sip of cold juice.

Swallowing, Garlan looked up, and the one who gave him the glass of juice was indeed King Camos. The man’s angular lips were curved, and he looked at his golden-brown pupils with a smile. Upon seeing Garlan looking up at him, his smile deepened and he fed him again, and then put the glass of juice in his hand.

The young King seemed to have finished eating. He sat cross-legged, with one hand resting on his side knee supporting his cheek, looking at him with his head sideways and smiling. It was a posture that said he wanted to watch him drink.

The glass cup was a bit big, and Garlan’s hands were too small. He could only hold the sides of the cup with two small hands, lower his head, and drink a few sips at a time. Half of his face was buried in the mouth of the big cup. From the outside, only the little fluffy head could be seen moving, making people want to rub it hard.

Camos beamed.

Daily #My family’s little King’s Brother looks so cute when eating and drinking~~# series.

As for the black-haired boy kneeling down, Camos didn’t care at all. He just responded casually with an ‘understood’, and then waved his hand to let Ziemuer take the boy back down.

The action of chasing others without caring let the attendants on the left and right look at each other, showing either thoughtful or clear eyes. Then, they eagerly cast their eyes on the child sitting next to the King, who was still trying to drink the big glass of juice, and completely ignored the other boy who was about to become the King’s Brother.

Standing below, Ziemuer looked at this scene coldly. He turned his gaze, letting it fall on the child whose face was blocked by the large glass cup with only half of his face showing.

He remembered that this boy splashed him with ink, causing his attire to be dirty and making goosebumps on his back pop up. At that time, he was in charge of the test and couldn’t deal with it, so he had to endure it. Ziemuer tolerated it for a long time until all the tests were over before he was able to clean himself.

Therefore, as soon as he saw the child, he remembered the torment he endured in the afternoon, and so the eyes that stared at Garlan became sharper.

After putting down the large malachite green glass cup, Garlan raised his eyes and confronted Ziemuer who was staring at him, and he naturally knew the reason why Ziemuer was glaring.

So, he bent his eyes and gave Ziemuer a big bright smile.

Come up and hit me if you have the ability~~

Do you dare?

Ziemuer, “…”

A brilliant smiling face directly made the eyes of the priest’s swoosh back, and Garlan was satisfied.

As soon as his gaze turned, he made eye contact with the young boy standing behind Ziemuer again.

The boy glanced over, and the gaze from his golden red eyes was very cold. Garlan’s heart beat violently, and he felt inexplicably guilty. He quickly turned his head and averted his gaze.

He remembered that not long ago, he fell off the stone steps, and it was this teenanger who rushed over to catch him and helped him avoid any more serious injuries. However, he slapped Heimos as soon as he woke up because he confused his dreams with reality.

But now, this young man knelt on the ground in embarrassment with scars. King Camos, who was too lazy to look at him, waved him away without any thought, yet he was coaxed to drink juice by King Camos.

This kind of differential treatment, as well as new hatred and old hatred, if he were Heimos…

Well, if he were Heimos, he might be even more upset than Heimos himself.

However, at noon, he did not make amends correctly.

As Garlan was thinking about how to find a chance to apologise, Heimos, who was below, had already gotten up and left.

Garlan was anxious and didn’t think much about it. He grabbed the box of ointment that was applied to him just now, jumped off the stage, and chased the other out.

Ziemuer, who was staying in the room and was talking to King Camos, subconsciously glanced at Garlan, who was running past him and felt that it was a bit inexplicable. He didn’t know what the boy was going to do. Camos looked at Garlan’s back and gave a small smile without saying anything, and continued to discuss disaster relief with Ziemuer.

Heimos walked outside under the leadership of the attendant, and suddenly heard the sound of rapid footsteps that came from behind.

By the time he realised that the sound of footsteps were chasing him, his left hand had been grabbed from behind.

He turned his head and met those big amber eyes.

Because he was afraid that Heimos would leave, Garlan chased after him in a hurry. He was panting a little while running, and his small face was slightly flushed.

“I…”

He opened his mouth, wanting to apologise for hitting Heimos not so long ago. But he just said the word ‘I’ and before he could say the word ‘sorry’, he was out of breath and was busy gasping for air.

He simply panted and raised the ointment box in his hand towards Heimos.

Just now, Brother King Camos didn’t ask the doctor who was there to look at Heimos at all, but he saw that Heimos was bruised and scarred, so he had to take some medicine to him, ah.

Heimos glanced at the small pill box Garlan handed him, his eyes cold.

He did not reach out to take it.

“No need.”

He said coldly. Without waiting for Garlan to finish speaking, he turned and walked away quickly.

Heimos walked very fast. He had already walked down the steps in the blink of an eye. Garlan had no time to stop him, and he had no time to finish his words.

He stood there in a daze, holding the cold ointment box in his hand, and watching the back of Heimos disappear before his eyes.

His heart sank slowly.

Heimos walked forward quickly, his black hair fell on the corner of his eye, and shadows fell on his pupil. He looked at the setting sun in the distance with deep eyes.

He remembered what he had just seen, the child sitting next to King Camos, and he obediently allowed King Camos to feed him juice.

He remembered that not long ago, when he was injured saving the child, he got a slap in the face and saw the look of disgust in the child’s eyes when he looked at him.

The boy gave a low laugh. There was a deep sense of sarcasm hidden in the laughter.

The look in his eyes that watched him with disgust was really familiar.

From childhood to adulthood, he didn’t know how many such gazes looked at him like that.

It was the look of a high-powered person who hated the sight of a low person.

He remembered what he had seen. The child had eyes that were as clear and bright as golden amber.

He liked those eyes very much. When those eyes were looking at him, they were shining and clean, uncontaminated with the slightest worldly dust, unlike the dirty eyes of those people he saw in the past.

Therefore, he used to think that the Garlan with those eyes was different from others… but the facts told him that some things never changed, and that child was no different from other people.

This was the cold reality.

In this world, status and power determined everything.

Heimos thought as he clenched his hand firmly on his side.

Only by climbing up and standing at the highest place, would he not be overlooked, disgusted, or despised by others.

One day, he will stand in that highest place.

One day, he will step over all those who had despised him!

Garlan slumped back holding the small ointment box.

Ah, Heimos had begun to look at me with cold eyes, and I seem to be one step closer to death.

He thought so sadly, as his eyes shifted and he saw King Camos, who was still talking to Ziemuer, as the chief culprit of everything.

Hey, I really want to hit him.

…………

In short, in order to survive, I must ask Brother Camos to abolish me as his brother!

Holding the small pill box tightly, Garlan once again strengthened his resolve.

Yes, today our Son of Destiny was still struggling to climb ashore from the mud named King’s Brother——

The author has something to say:

How misunderstandings were made…

Ziemuer continued to take notes in his small notebook.
