Yu Le was determined to find the doctor without calling Yu Youzhi “Brother.”

In the end, Yu Youzhi gave up.

He trotted to catch up with the slight figure in front of him, deliberately frowning and showing an aggrieved expression, “If you don’t want to call me “Brother” then don’t. But don’t ignore me, okay?” It was as if he had made a huge compromise; he grabbed Yu Le’s hand and pulled himself in front of Yu Le, “But who let you be Yu Le? It’s rare for you to ask for help, how could I be willing to refuse you?”

It was too scripted, with a sticky tone and pitiful expression, to the point of being a little disgusting.

Yu Le frowned and moved his eyes away, not wanting to look at Yu Youzhi.

If possible, he really wanted to cover his ears or block Yu Youzhi’s mouth. Preferably both.

“I’ll ask Brother Song to help you check it out, don’t worry, it’ll be quick!” With that said, Yu Youzhi took out his cell phone.

Enduring Yu Youzhi’s words with a smile, Yu Le finally decided to turn around and thanked him through gritted teeth.

As he made the call, Yu Le stood beside him.

The disgusting expression from just now faded, Yu Youzhi was still very charming when he spoke seriously. He held the mobile phone to his ear, and his eyelids were slightly drooped as his pupils searched for something to catch their attention underneath his feet. He seemed to be thinking about something as he listened to the person on the other side of the call, agreeing with a “hmmm” occasionally.

The sound was very nice.

From the perspective of a bystander, it made sense why this person was beloved by so many. Yu Youzhi truly had the aspects of a gifted star!

He sighed involuntarily, he was gaining the tendency of forgetting the characteristics of the people around him as he lived here longer. He knew very well that Yu Youzhi was not as kind as he portrayed himself, so why was he opening his heart to him?

The sound of Yu Youzhi quarrelling with his assistant pulled Yu Le out of his thoughts.

The one-sided conversation from Yu Youzhi sounded something like, “Ah…I didn’t run around, of course, I know that I have to join the group within the month”, “Why are they here, just send them away, I don’t have time to deal with them”, “I need your help to find someone”, “Anyway Brother Song, you have to find him. If you don’t work hard enough, I’ll have to deduct your bonus,” and other topics, but with the choppy back and forth, Yu Le was not able to gain much from it at all.

After hanging up the phone, Yu Youzhi, who had resorted to threatening another’s bonus, looked unhappy. However, this changed in an instant as he sought credit from Yu Le, “I finished, we just have to wait for the news from Brother Song now!”

Yu Le was a little curious about what Yu Youzhi had been arguing about, but he rolled his eyes around and did not ask in the end.

“Speaking of, Yu Le, you are looking for a doctor so that you can clarify your memories and deal with the remnants in your body, right?” Yu Youzhi held his phone loosely and walked over as he asked, “Although it’s a bit strange to say this, but have you ever thought of finding a celestial master to try?”

“A celestial master?”

“Yes, after all, you’re a lonely ghost aren’t you? Maybe someone in this field would be more useful than someone from the scientific community.”

Thinking carefully, Yu Le thought this proposal wasn’t horrible, “If something really happened, maybe the master could even help me get rid of the sub personalities in my body…”

“That’s right, there’s just one problem.” Yu Youzhi blinked and raised a finger, “Theoretically, as a lonely ghost, you are the one illegally occupying this body. If you ask a celestial master for help, are you sure that you won’t be the one eliminated?”

Yu Le was stunned, “…That’s right.”

But even so, Yu Le still thought that Yu Youzhi’s proposal was very constructive.

Since travelling into a book and being reborn in a different body was possible, it should be expected for there to be a heavenly master here as well.

He decided to give it a try.

The next day, he went to a famous temple of monks in Z City to invite a well-known old Taoist home to perform a ritual for him.

Yu Youzhi followed along during the whole practice, watching with great interest.

The old Taoist held an ancient peach wood sword on his back and wore a yellow Tai Chi Bagua robe. As soon as he entered the door of Yu Le’s house, he started babbling and chanting, exclaiming, “This room is very dark! Very heavy!”

Glutinous rice was thrown, and dog blood was splattered. Even yellow paper was burnt, making the room seem more lively than it had ever been before.

After a bit of manipulation, the old Taoist priest sat cross-legged, showing fatigue as he glanced at Yu Le with a heavy face, “Donor, the yin energy in this room has dissipated. Now we can talk in detail about what happened to you.”

“…”

Was it popular in the capital to get on the boat first only after buying the ticket?

Thinking that perhaps this was normal, Yu Le explained his dreams and sub-personalities in detail, and the lines on the old Taoist’s already severely wrinkled face grew even denser.

He stared at Yu Le with an inscrutable gaze, felt his pulse with a serious expression and finally placed a talisman written with red cinnabar on his forehead before saying, “Okay, the evil spirit has dissipated, the donor will sleep peacefully until early morning tonight.”

“…”

Then the old priest took a computer from his cloth Bagua Tai Chi bag, “Please, donor, we can start calculating now.” The tapping sound echoed in the small rental house. The priest may have been an old man, but his fingers were as nimble as an octopus. Typing in a number on the computer interface, he turned the screen to face Yu Le, “Donor, a total of one thousand and one yuan. Do you want to pay in cash or by WeChat transfer?”

Yu Le was unable to react.

Yu Youzhi, standing to the side, finally couldn’t help it and burst out laughing.

Although he had had a premonition, he really did encounter a liar.

Ten minutes later, Yu Le had decisively subdued the old priest’s hands and suppressed him tightly. Half his face was almost deformed as it pressed against the tabletop, “I’m sorry, master, can we discuss the cost again?”

Being forced too heavily, the old Taoist had no room to speak and could only mutter, “Donor, please, everything can be solved through words…Don’t do something so drastic, let us talk…”

Yu Le frowned, “You said I have a lot of yin energy here?”

“No, no, no…I was mistaken. This house faces south and north, surrounded by mountains and rivers…it is the perfect place in terms of Feng Shui…”

He continued to ask, “What about my body?”

“You have strong qi and blood, you are in good health. You won’t have a problem even fighting against a hundred men!”

His frown deepened.

He initially thought that this old man was slow to part with his words and was a stern old master, but he turned out to be the traditional conman.

He really shouldn’t have put his hopes in such a strange person.

Letting him up from the table, the old man had already lost his composure. His noble robe was scattered loosely on his body and handfuls of charms fell from his bag to scatter on the ground.

Wanting nothing more to do with this pair of lunatics, the man covered his body as best he could and ran away with only his mahogany sword.

As he reached the door of the rental, he saw that he had put some distance between himself and Yu Le. Feeling aggrieved, he turned and spat towards the other, “I didn’t think I would be so unlucky today! You aren’t a fucking ghost, you’re just sick in the head! Go to the mental hospital and leave our temple be!”

After saying so, he ran away.

Yu Le looked at Yu Youzhi next to him expressionlessly, “Why are there so many liars in this world?”

Sighing, Yu Youzhi felt a little funny as he looked at Yu Le’s expression and said almost comfortingly, “No matter where you are, there will always be liars.”

Yu Le tilted his head, showing an unhappy look, like a child who had been wronged, and whispered in a low voice, “It’s all your fault…you said a heavenly master could help…”

“What?” Yu Youzhi didn’t hear him clearly and asked Yu Le to come over, but Yu Le faced away and refused to respond. He wanted to ask again, but his phone rang, and he picked it up on the first dial.

The familiar voice of his assistant came out, “Youzhi, it’s me.”

He talked with him for a few moments and after hanging up the phone, Yu Youzhi raised it towards Yu Le with shining eyes, “Yu Le, Brother Song has already found the doctor!”

In the past few days, Yu Le hadn’t dreamt at all.

Since the last time when he kicked away the young man who had tried to strangle him, his nights had been peaceful.

There were no nightmares to bother him, but likewise, he couldn’t induce the original owner or his personalities to show up. He always slept until dawn and woke well-rested.

But whether it was the fever from that day or Zhu Luo’s testimony, he was sure that all signs were pointing towards the importance of that dream.

He was incredibly uneasy leaving his life in the hands of chance and resolved to solve the problem through his own means.

So, he decided to find the doctor that the original owner had contacted before in hopes of knowing what had happened to the original owner towards the end of his life.

But ever since he asked Yu Youzhi for help and let slip his plans, Yu Youzhi was trailing him step by step like a lost puppy.

Yu Youzhi had insisted on waiting until they had time free to go see the doctor together, and today, they could finally go out together.

Yu Le was confused, “Haven’t you been busy these past few days, why do you want to keep me company on your day off?”

“Well, there’s not anything I have to do that’s more important than helping you…why?”

“…No reason.”

“I have to keep an eye on you else you do something outrageous again and disregard your health.”

Yu Le frowned and stopped talking.

Soon, they came to a small clinic mentioned in the information provided by Assistant Song.

Yu Youzhi looked around at the dilapidated environment around them, “Brother Song said that this is a small underground clinic. It receives a lot of customers that can’t go to the hospital openly. I don’t know how your original personality, who was just a student, was able to find it…”

Hearing this, Yu Le paused in his steps to explain, “The doctor here prescribed small white pills to the original owner, he relied on those pills to try and kill himself, along with all the personalities in his body. With this kind of medicine, there must be a dosage limit, an ordinary hospital wouldn’t be able to prescribe a dosage large enough to accomplish what he wanted with them. As a college student with only a few channels, he would only be able to come to this kind of place for help.”

Yu Youzhi realised something and looked at him more seriously, “Yu Le, you…you didn’t just come here to ask the doctor about what happened, did you?”

“Well, actually I also want to buy some of those pills,” he responded calmly, “When I just woke up in this body, there were still a few of those pills left, but unfortunately, they were all thrown away while I was cleaning.”

“Are you going to take the medicine?”

“After the last dream, the second personality has been avoiding me and refusing to show up.” Yu Le smiled, “I have to try something, anything is better than leaving a time bomb in my body like this.”

Yu Youzhi obviously disagreed with this approach and looked at him in worry.

“Don’t worry, I still have a sense of reason. And don’t look at me like that, I’m actually quite good at fighting.” Yu Le chuckled and pushed on the shabby door of the little clinic, “Let’s go find this doctor.”
