Chapter 4 Ignorance is Bliss! by Harem-Fan
Shing, Grind, Chink! Currently I am using the vocations classroom equipment to create a set of light-weight and manageable lock-picking equipment. I will have to one day buy a professional set, but can't do everything at once or I would draw too much suspicion.
While I am in the Zone making my picks, I think about the differences from the two Earths. The first thing I noticed is the placement of the continents on the planet. It seems that Earth had their placements shift over millions of years and it spread out far from one another.
I can deduce that our two Earths are in fact different Earths from this. First, China on his Earth was in the South East of my Eurasia. And China is the continent of Australia in my world. But the current Empire there is the China Empire?! I get confused by the past life's memories.
So my reincarnation brought me from another Universe or Galaxy altogether. This however does not matter one bit.
So that game he played and presumably killed him, hints my world was my world supposed to be some game from his world?
No, I don't think so. The past, I had no memories of this so-called game. But I have this sinking feeling, he found it on a suicide website. Seems my predecessor answered a questionnaire about living a new life, and guessed it was a game, but in reality, he truly stopped existing.
Before the System rudely left me, it mentioned that he wasted his life and for me to not make the same mistake. Maybe, my soul moves on with every life and he was a failure. Perhaps the system left due to my past life being a disappointment, so it bailed on me? Meh, doesn't matter. It at least gave me some skills for me to live a better life.
The past me must have been an avid gamer, because he chose my skills in a power player setup. I don't think he knew what kind of world he was moving onto, and only picked a solid starting package for any world.
The Computer and Auto-mechanics was no waste due to him being able to build some simple things even in a fantasy world. Computer use would have been pimp in the movie Star Wars I am sure.
The only Grandmaster skill Kung-Fu or Martial Arts, he picked for me which is worth 15 Basic or 5 Advanced Skills, is perfect in any world he would go too. Plus it is suitable. Medicine is good in any world as well.
Firearms and Driving is his only real gamble though. In a sword and magic world, it would have been a wasted 3 and 7 points. So in the end, Neet me was indeed a pro-gamer. The world could have been chosen based on the skills he bought as well?!
"Oh?! My last tool is done, and it looks pretty good. I think the auto-mechanics skill helped in the crafting of the tools as well, like a synergy."
I rolled up the tools in a leather case I put together and slid it all into my back-pack.
"Next class is starting soon and I don't want to be late, or even my Acting skill wont save me. Ha, can't wait to see the look of pain on dicks face."
Broken toes don't get a cast and just have to heal on their own, well depending on what the desk fell on, but sadly, it's probably just his pinky toe with my bad luck. I wish the instep would have broken though, then he would really get a cast.

I made it back to class just as it was ending and then I handed the teacher the hall-pass with a smile.

James gave me a thumbs-up and I smiled at him. Scott is giving me stink-eye and well, I smile at him too. not in a mocking smile, just that I had a relaxing first period kinda look.
Chime Chime Chime! And with the sounds of the bell, it's time for everyone to go to their next assigned classes.
Linda Lang was standing by the door as I was leaving and she calmly asked me.

Yeah, his martial arts Karate is only Advanced at best but probably Basic, and I am not convinced he has had that level of skill very long if he does.
As I go to my locker to exchange books for the next class, I see Nichole Ning reading through the papers I left in her locker, and she looks very pale. She shows her sister Nadia and then she too looks surprised.
As Nadia is looking at her smartphone to confirm the 1 million was indeed really in her account, Nichole looks over to me closing my locker, so I gave her a playful smile and then turned to my class.
Nichole, seeing me, says to her sister.
"Sister, did you mess up the money transfer? How could you have pulled out a million and not the hundred thousand father said to stay at?"
"No, I triple checked before I sent it over! I counted 5 zeros! This is a mistake?! What do we do Nichole?"
Nichole the smarter of the two sisters said.
"How did Rick know? How did the letter get into my locker? But most importantly, what does he want from us? No matter the outcome, Rick wins. Have we fucked up messing with him?! Scott is such a fucking idiot to have provoked a man like that, shit so did we, sigh."
Nadia, seeing her sister going down the Rabbit-Hole asks her.
"Sister, none of that even matters. The only thing that we need to consider is how to keep father from finding out we made a mess. I don't care about Scott, but if father is mad, you know how he gets."

"Well, I will negotiate with our blackmailer later. It seems this is his first crime he has ever done and has shown all of his hand. I should be able to get a favorable outcome with little loss to us."
"What loss, will we lose all of the money we got? I don't want that. We need that for when Scott leaves us in the future."
"No, if he can prove to me that he is the one responsible for setting us up, then that means he has more skill than we knew. The best outcome for us is losing something we will lose anyway, so a simple honey-trap, and everyone is happy."

"From now on do not provoke Rick and consider him an ally, and second hurry we are late for class."

I was unaware that my half-ass blackmail attempt was no longer under my control, and what I was going to get from it was not what I was even going to ask for, but looking back on that event in my life. I can only say one phrase... Ignorance is Bliss!
"Alright Seniors, from now on for the rest of this school year, we will be preparing and taking the final exams and placement rankings so you can apply to your Universities or post vocational jobs. Now here is the pop-quiz, good luck!"
So the stern teacher had passed out his hard as fuck quizzes to us, but when I looked at it, my shock was great.
The skill General Education: Basic was no fucking joke! I instantly understood and could effortlessly answer every question on this difficult quiz. Well I was not dumb before, but it's like having a cheat sheet open now and no thought was needed to answer all the questions.
Mr Chi was watching us like a hawk for cheating, and when he saw me come up with a completed sheet while the others were only half done, he questioned me with his eyes and looked at my sheet, then his look was interesting.
Mr Chi does all of his quizzes the night before class and throws in questions not in the text books, so no student has ever been able to cheat, but here he was, staring at a perfect quiz.
"Mr Lee, I don't know what happened to you in the hospital, but it seems, your mind has cleared up, take your seat and rest. Excellent work."
Excellent work! This phrase has never been uttered from the toughest teacher in Star High since, well never, and the rest of the class looked at me with disbelieving glances, damn.
Scott who was always number two behind Linda frowned hearing this Mr Chi praise me. And Linda who had always been number one, was startled to hear the praise from her favorite teacher land on the beaten me?! The best she ever heard from him was, Good Work.
Okay, the skills I got from the flaky system are definitely Goldfinger quality.
On the bright side, unlike those stories, I don't have a system giving me unreasonable Quests with failed results like losing nipples or death! I even saw one novel where a gender changed the protagonist for failing a stupid quest. So in the end, my System quitting me is good, right?

As class ended Mr Chi called me over, and I didn't notice but Linda just sat at her desk to listen to us talk...
"Lee, I am happy to see your shocking test, but if you could have done this all along, why show it now at the end?"

"Mr Chi, if I look like this now, how bad do you think I would look if my bully was surpassed by me in education? I have had to hide my academics for my entire 4 years of high-school to avoid death. Sorry but I am only showing you my true talent because I plan on attending Star University as a scholarship student and taking their Business course. But thanks for teaching me well in the past."
Mr Chi feels my lie was truly believable and understood Scott and my past, but Linda had shock in her eyes thinking she would have been the number two student all these years if Scott did not suppress me. Now her self worth hit rock bottom due to Scott's meddling. her heart of confidence and pride was accidentally shattered by my lie to Mr Chi.
Well I did not know I humbled Linda, nor would I have cared. This however is her fault for being an eavesdropper in the first place!
"Alright Lee, then make me proud and earn that goal, let me also write you a personal letter of recommendation for your application to Star University. I have friends and fellow alumni who will look out for you, just score high on the final test and the letter is yours."
"Thanks a lot Mr Chi, that would be amazing! See you tomorrow!"
I then left in a good mood. If I scored a perfect mark on Mr Chi's test, then that means I will get a perfect score on the others as well, hot damn. My University can be counted as in the bag now. sister Mary will be thrilled I hope.
And as I predicted, perfect scores were all popularized that day, and a repeat of Mr Chi's class happened for the whole day. I was apparently a topic after school in the teachers lounge while all the teachers compared my perfect scores with no cheating. They also lamented how a noble family brat could suppress a hidden gem.
