Chapter 46 Linda Lang is a Mystery! by Harem-Fan
Linda has a look of not wanting to be rejected, like if I say 'I am not going', she might cry. Mary waves the handwritten invitation and asks Linda.
"Linda, I will definitely come to the dinner, but how should I dress?"
Welp, that seals it, I am going anyway.
"Just anything that you would wear in a nice restaurant would be good, but I don't care even if you came in casual. Just support me in this family dinner. I will be uncomfortable around Scott Tang otherwise. Will you eat with us Rick?"
"If Mary and father are coming then I cannot be missing. But won't Scott start something if I come?"
Linda nodded and said honestly.
"I don't think Scott will openly say or do anything this time, but if he did, it would only show my father how bad his choice is."
I ask in worry.
"Can you tell me who else will be there?"
Linda closed her grey-eyes in thought and said.
"Scott, his four wives, his parents, and finally my parents. But with your wives and in-laws you won't seem alone."
Right now for this part of the talk it is only me and Linda chatting while father and Mary had been discussing attire.
"And... you are welcome to stop by anytime you feel like chatting, Rick. We are seat-mates and University students in the same business course. I can also use a study partner. But I will not pressure you, Rick."
I just nod at this strangely persistent woman. She is so aloof and seems above mundane affairs but she seems to talk a lot to me now, sigh. But in the end I guess it's fine, especially the look of eating shit on Scott's face.
Then I smell her, Tina stands next to me smiling at Linda Lang.
"Rick, I am done showering and changing, so we can go to my house whenever you want. You can stay over to talk with my parents for a bit if you like."
Linda, seeing Tina Feng, has an unamused look in her eyes due to the two women always being at odds.
Mary and my father came to the three of us and Mary said.
"Husband, I will be waiting for you at home, so quickly take Miss Feng home and hurry back, mwah! See you later Rick."
My new father patted my shoulder and said to me and the two girls.
"Great work in Kung-Fu Club and this year with you, we should take first place. And I will see you at Miss Lang's home on Saturday, good day ladies see you later."
With that he went to say hello to the Karate Club teachers. Tina questioned.
"Why are you and the Dean going to Linda's home on Saturday?"
Linda with a happier look in her eyes tells the confused Tina.
"My father and Scott's father are having a get-together meeting at my home for Scott and his wives, so as my neighbor I invited Rick and his wives along with the Dean to make the meeting bearable. Oh did you not know Rick and I are neighbors, right next door?"
Did Linda have this side to her? I feel if Linda had Martial Arts Advanced like Tina, they would be fighting on the mat right now. Tina looks at me while pointing at Linda.
"Linda Lang is your neighbor?!"
"Seems so, now let's get you home before Mary skins me for being late."
"But I need you on Saturday for a meeting, so you can't go that day."
I don't know if it's true or made up but I shake my head.
"Sorry, if you would have told me before now, I could have declined, but I won't let my wives go alone. you will need to make other arrangements or move the meeting to another day."
Linda decided it was time to not-push her luck with me and said while leaving.
"Goodbye you two, see you in the new business course tomorrow."
Then she was gone leaving me with an agitated Tina. She said.
"Rick, that girl is just using you so don't fall for her tricks. She doesn't like you."
She and I started to walk to the parking-lot as I say. If this story is on any-other site than Scribble Hub, then it was stolen without permission!
I look at Tina amused because she does not see how the two of them are two sides of the same coin, one ice the other fire. Both women like me for the wrong and right reasons and I am not pursuing either of them. Both are beautiful but really come with family baggage.
"Thanks for your advice and I will keep it in mind."
Then the two of us sit and wait in the hummer for Jenifer as she said with a pout.
"It feels as if you're just blowing me off, Rick?!"
Looking at her in the rear-view as I put on some Kate Kong music, I say.
"No I understand, you're caring for your friend, and you and Linda don't get along. If Linda told me the same thing about you, I would only make up my own mind, get me?"
She crossed her legs and looked sideways in defeat then said.
"Your reasoning sounds fair so I will drop it then. By the way, Number 5 beat Number 4 last night leaving only 1, 2, 3, and 5. Number 3 was someone I had picked before I picked you."
"Then your odds of winning are at 50/50 now right?"
"Sigh, Not really... Number 3 is just a slightly kinder version of Woo. I had only chosen him for the wrong reasons..."
I am curious and ask.
"But he is your pick, so I don't understand, you should be happy, right?"
She kicked the back of my seat and said and asked me.
"Look at you playing that cow-chested woman's music over and over. You liked her movies years ago, right? So what if you found out that girl you thought was amazing because she was hot and talented, ended up treating men like garbage and used them and left them, would you still think choosing her was the good choice?"
I shrugged at the stupid comparison.
"Her music and acting is what I like, if she just shuts up and sings, then I am happy. I just thought she was a nice childhood crush being the same age, and how talented she was. Sure I had fantasized about her but in the end, it's just for fun. Would I pick her to have been my wife, no I would never believe in that fairy-tale."
Tina, hearing more than she asked, just said.
"Well I picked Number 3 in my last year of middle-school, due to having a crush on him, and the fact he was strong enough to face Woo. But... over the last four years he has changed."
She only sighed at my lack of interest and told me anyway...
"He was smart, successful, very handsome, and his fighting capability had charmed my young heart. But lately after seeing me develop into a mature woman, he is more interested in my body rather than me or even the Fire Birds. So like I said, he is only a slightly better Woo. I admit, picking someone on looks was a mistake."
Jenifer opened the door and climbed in and said hello as she buckled up. Tina looked like she wanted to say more, but only crossed her arms under her chest and looked out the window as I pulled away from the University...

Walking into my home, I see both Hana and Mary sitting on the couch watching TV and it's some kind of Hospital daily soap opera. Mary, seeing me come back at a reasonable time, nodded and said.
"[Operation: Scotty doesn't know!] Just got abandoned due to us going, right?"
Gulp! I swallowed because Mary should not know about that right? But I own it and only nod yes to her question.
Mary nodded at my answer then asked another while Hana covered her mouth in amusement at my face.
"Be honest, were you going to tell us before, after, or never about this operation?"
"Sigh, I was going to tell you before, even though it was a dumb plan to mess with Scott, and spend time with the twins. We only talked about it in computer class, but based on what Nadia said Scott will know, I imagine they are planning on ending it with him eventually."
With a satisfied grin knowing I was honest, Mary curled her finger to have me come to her, so I did.
SMACK! The top of my head was swatted and Mary asked me.
"Then do you know what part of this makes me want to hit you again?"
"Time and Place, so I am guessing it was where we would do it?"
"Yes Rick, that is exactly what I would have been pissed about. Breaking and entering to have sex in your neighbor's house is a crime, and we will ignore all the others, but that was what I am most pissed about. But, I will forgive you for two reasons."

"First you were honest and did not actually commit the crime yet, and second, Hana and I remembered the message site you and the twins used and they invited us as chat members. So Hana and I kinda went behind your back today chatting with the twins. So we kinda broke our promise of waiting. And that's how we saw your conversations today getting you caught."
Seeing Mary's look of guilt made me feel touched, because I am glad they are talking to the twins actually, otherwise I would have deleted that site. But my Acting Skill kicks in and I pretend to be upset.
"How dare you two go behind my back! I am going to go right into the kitchen and make a tasty meal, and you two will damn well eat it!"
I stomp my feet like a spoiled kid and head into the kitchen, and I can hear the two women laugh at my display of fake anger.

After I put the lasagna into the oven and started the dishes, Mary came in behind me and held me from behind.
"Hana and I know you're struggling inside, so just take a deep-breath and let it out. I imagine the twins falling in love with you after the fact has to be eating at you right?"
"Yeah, I am happy and frustrated. I had never really had relationships with women before school ended, and I feel like I am letting everyone down, but I don't want to let any of you go as well."
Mary tightened her hug and kissed my ear, then said.
"Just rely on us more, and I confirmed with Nichole, they will eventually have a divorce, but they have to wait till after the children are born. They have a rocky relationship with the Ning family and want to make Tang babies to fully break from the Ning's. Oh and I think your twins are now in shock."
I look into Mary's mischievous face as she grins and says.
"When I told them they really had Tang babies, and explained that Scott is your blood cousin, they were offline for a while in panic, but now they just can't believe it. I fully told them it is a secret to not say anything, but Nichole said to me... "This is even better!"
I just sigh at this soap-opera of my real life. And seeing Hana come in the kitchen with a smile on is confirming they are amused at my drama.
"You two really are good to me, so let me get the salad ready for you lovely ladies."

While eating the beef-lasagna, Hana and Mary are laughing as Mary tells Hana about lunchtime and the hot wings meal.
"Mary, I can't believe you sucked the hot-sauce off your fingers at a Phoenix Feng family member with a straight face, and making Rick eat it too, so funny. I would not have thought of that. So she backed down after you showed up?"
"She did so, which means she is not fully invested in Rick,so I made space in front of the university kids so they know she is not invested. Sorry Rick, if those rumors kept spreading you would feel obligated to be her boyfriend. That girl could just ask you but she only plays passively."
I take the empty plates and tell them.
"No, what you did was fine with me, I know she cares as a friend, but we don't have romantic feelings. I told her I will only marry a woman if I will love her forever. I don't want a benefits marriage."
Hana asks me.
"Wait, the Feng are offering you marriage with Tina Feng, the 2nd daughter?"
"Technically it's whoever wins the fighting tournament, and that dick Steve Woo is the number one contender for her hand, and she hates him. She made me join so I could beat Woo and save her from marrying that ass. I was not planning on marrying her, but I don't want Woo to get her, so I am fighting, and there are only four of us left. I will be back after the dishes are done."
After I went into the kitchen the two women talked...
"Oh, crap. Seems I misunderstood that Tina Feng girl."
Hana, not understanding, asks Mary.
"I don't get it, I thought you wanted to chase her off?"
"Yes, when I thought she was not serious about Rick. But dummy cant tell she asked him to marry her by making him fight, and that Woo man is one I would wish on no woman. Sigh!"
"Then what are we going to do? I don't think telling Rick to do it or not is right. He should follow his heart and not be obligated."
Mary nodded and said.
"You're right and I feel the same. So all I will do is no longer get in her way and if Rick says he loves her, I won't complain. But that girl will have to convince him on her own. I didn't hurt her chances enough today anyway, actually probably made her more conscious of her own feelings. But Hana, if you disagree with me, you can interfere."
Hana stood up, stretched and with a smile looking to the kitchen she said.
"No, I trust Rick. If he trusts a woman enough, then I will support him. He accepted everything about me and my past, so I will be there as his loyal wife. Are we all sleeping in my room tonight? He is drained from yesterday?"
Mary standing rubbed her stomach and said with a sigh...
"Yup, I am not having sex tonight, those Hot-Wings are killing me, fufu!"
(Bad headache while writing this chapter, will take a nap before I start on another...)
