Chapter 9 Crap, I have crossed that line! by Harem-Fan
After my morning issues are taken care of, I find my sister at her desk working.
"What's up brother? Is there some problem?"
Mary is currently at her desk going through case-files on unsolved crimes, I smile at her then explain my plans.
"I have an 11 am reservation at the DMV (department of motor vehicles) to get my license, so I need the keys to the sedan to take the test. Then I am going to work on the car and change the fluids. Finally, I will pick you up when you get off, is that alright."
"No, I will-"
She was going to tell me she would go with me, but she saw the look in my eyes telling her if she did not let me spread my wings, she might push me away. She reluctantly handed me the key then said.
"You better be safe or I will kill you."
"Sister, you're the best, now let me get busy, your poor car needs some love after its abusive master torments it, ha-ha!"
Mary threw a crumpled up paper-ball at me and yelled making the other detectives laugh.
"Beat it you little prick!"

Soon, I climb into the left driver's seat and sit behind the wheel for a minute thinking.
I never noticed the strangeness of the two Earths until recently, like the fact, my past Earth had a ratio of men to women being roughly 1 to 1 or so. When I passed in my last life, monogamy was the norm and Polygamy was rare in that day and age. That is fucking strange, right?
But on my Earth, the ratio of men to women is 1 to 2! Plus Polygamy is the norm here. I cant believe no one has ever questioned why the ratio of men to women was the way it is?
I guess it's like a Lions Pride mentality, the man is the center of the family, and the women take active roles in work if not giving birth. Yeah, here on my Earth women are not seen as subservient to men like in my past life.
For instance, in the Police and Military, two out of every three soldiers or officers are women. The same goes for business tycoons, and the noble family heads. So gender tends to only be a concern with childbirth really.
Even at home, it is normal for me to cook dinner and not see it as a woman's work at all. Even my sister being the head of our two person family is seen as normal.
What about marriage and genders? Well men and women can keep or exchange last names of their spouses. Mary's mother for example could have kept her late husband's last name, but she took my fathers last name when they married.
Men also take last names of wives who are powerful. For instance that ice-cube Linda Lang. If any man marries her, they will never make her change her last name, due to the fact her noble family will never abandon the name.
And when children are born, they can take the name of the mother or father based on the parents choice.
Another interesting fact of marriage, a man can marry any number of wives and each wife must be designated with a ranking. For example, the Ning sisters will be both wives 2 and 3 and not the number 1 spot. This is to ensure rights of inheritance. So children of the first wife have priority. But if no first wife is chosen, then by default the second wife is considered the first.
Nichole was pissed because if Scott does not marry Linda, but made that maid the first wife, her children would be shafted, yeah I understand her anger.
The last rule of my world's Polygamy is, no two men can be a part of the same marriage circle or group. So once Scott marries Linda, the maid, and the Ning's no other man can marry into the circle. This is much like the Lions Pride I talked about where there is one male in the Pride.
I put the key into the ignition, then fastened my seat-belt, and can almost hear the car talking to me, telling me the best way to drive it. And I am sure it's praying that my sister wont shift it to death!
This is a 10 year old BMW sedan, and it's interesting that despite both worlds being different in geography, history, and ethnicity we share so many similarities, like cars, restaurants, and businesses.
Like both worlds have Google in it, and there are Fords from North America?! BMW was a German car brand in my past world, but here it's a brand from the Azure state?! This past life is messing with my history, sigh.
I am currently driving on the right side of the road, like in my past life how the United States does their traffic rules. Oddly, all countries in my world drive on the right side, so the memories telling me other countries used to use the left is novel!
I stopped at the local gas-station to fill up, and I used one of the gift-cards gifted to me by Scott to top off the tank. All of the giftcards I stole equal up to about 10000$ so for a while I won't have to worry about cash.
The feel of driving with the Driving skill is like I have been professionally doing this for around 50 years. My shifting is smooth and timed perfectly so you barely feel the car change gears.
I have also identified many of the maintenance checks I will have to perform on this sad car later.
After I get my license, I will go to the auto-parts store and buy all the tools I will need to use my Auto-mechanics skill to its best.

Soon, I will park at the DMV and go wait in line to get my driving test done. Yeah it seems in both worlds, the line at the DMV is miserable, sigh.
Skipping the boring parts of me amazing my driving instructor, I was finally granted my official Drivers licence, but I also took the higher class driving tests so if the day came, I can drive large trucks, plus motorcycle license.
My final stop after a bite of fast food from the local Sub's-Way, was the massive Auto-Mart.
I used almost 1000$ in gift-cards to buy all the tools, gear, fluids, plugs, tires, and upgrades.

On my way home to do car maintenance, I hear something interesting on the radio...

It was for the late teen age-group, and was about a young princess vampire mixing with human society and it was hot!
Miss Kong is a white-haired young woman with red-eyes and an impressive chest, cough. That's not the main reason I love her, but it does not hurt when I need a fapping image in the shower!
Sadly her song ended and my thoughts left the rising star.

I was getting off the highway to go to my neighborhood when I noticed an impressive sight.
On the side of the road is a new Model BMW 7 series luxury car with four doors and a black color. Its back tire had a flat and what caught my eye was the most beautiful woman I have seen in both of my lives!
She is as tall as me at 5 foot 10 inches with her high-heels on. Her long-dark-purple-hair blew in the breeze. I could see her frustration on her face as she was talking on the phone with someone.
She wore glasses and her purple-eyes looked stern, like a sexy librarian or secretary. But looking at her car, I would say she is a CEO instead. (chief executive officer)
I pull over in front of her car, and no it's not because of her large F-cups, he-he. I get out of the car and make my way over to the woman standing there upset looking with her arm under her boobs while still talking.
"Someone is coming, I will call you back."
In a deep voice she ended her call and looked at me in weariness. So I ask while pointing at her tire.
"Hello, I am Rick Lee, do you need your tire changed? If you want I can do it fast."
The cautious woman looked at me wearily, then nodded in reluctance.
"I am late for an important meeting, and I am not good with cars, so here are the things you need here."
I take the offered Keys and head to where the necessary things are, like the jack and other tools that come with the car are.
My Automotive skill also gives me knowledge of the inner-workings of all-known cars up to the time I received the memories. All new cars will have to be learned like any other mechanic would have to learn. The system must have scanned the world at the moment of implanting the memories and they are tailored to my Earth.
The purple-haired woman raised her eyebrows at the sheer speed in changing her tire, like she is watching a professional pit-crew in one of those racing-tracks.
In no time I am already putting her flat in the back, so it can be repaired later, closing the trunk. I hand her the keys and waved as I turned to walk to my car. She yelled.
"Mr Lee, take this tip for helping!"
I shake my head and say to her while walking away.
"No need, just get to your meeting, goodbye."
The woman was about to introduce herself to this kind young man, but seeing him just leave like that, she thought of the meeting-interview and got into her car.

Soon, I made it home and began the hour-long process of fixing my sister's abused car. I even washed and detailed it.
After her white-car looked white again, I showered and changed clothing after putting away the tools in the apartment. It was about time my sister would get off so I grabbed the keys again and headed to pick her up.
Soon after a smooth trip and hearing the new Kate Kong song again, I pulled up to the front of the station.
I got out of the car and opened the passenger door for my sister who was walking out with a man in his mid-twenties, black-hair, and red-eyes trying to flirt with her obviously. I can tell she is not interested in him though because she has that look of wanting to leave.
My sister seeing me with the car open looked happy to finally get away from this new officer. She waved and I waved back.
"Goodbye Officer Woo, good to work with you. My brother is here so I am off."
"Ah? Sure I see, well hope we work well together Officer Lee, see you tomorrow."
My sister did not even ask for the key and jumped into the passenger seat closing the door and waited for me. I waved at the scummy looking guy but looked friendly on the outside. Seems my sister does not like this pretty boy.
After we got settled I started to pull off and ask.
"New guy crushing on my big-sis, ha-ha!"
She pouted and complained the whole way home.
"...So yes, that guy gives me the creeps. He thinks his act can fool me, sigh. Plus I told my coworkers I don't date. The worst part of him, he keeps throwing out his clan's name to impress me every time he can like, "oh my Woo clan does this and my Woo clan has that too."
I laughed at her and said. If this story is on any-other site than Scribble Hub, then it was stolen without permission!
"Then if you want to make that creep give up on you, tell him I am your secret boyfriend and he will be disgusted, ha-ha. Even if it's not true, I care not what he thinks. I did pick you up so he might believe it. Plus we live in a one-bedroom apartment together, so think what his imagination will come up with, ha-ha!"
No, I did not see the blush on my sister's face or the bad idea I gave her. She looked at my smiling face while I drove, with some inappropriate thoughts though. Yeah in hindsight, I was a fool, sigh.
"Then tomorrow, I will confess to Woo that we are lovers, is that alright?"
"Sure I don't care. Plus if he investigates me, he will see I have never had a girlfriend, so it's believable. Plus I will do anything to keep you safe from creeps, sis."
"So what's for supper lover, Ufufu?"
"I am pretty sore today, so let's pickup some pizza, Meat-Lovers or Deluxe?"
She put on a playful smile and joked with me.
"Well as a new boyfriend and girlfriend, let's do the Meat-Lovers~, ha-ha!"
I smiled at my sister who was in a good mood, and we stopped at a good Pizzeria, and had a lovely night together watching TV eating Pizza and having a few beers.
Yeah she is finally letting me drink a bit. However she made me drink slowly and looked at me after each one so we knew what my limit was.
We don't want me to drink recklessly after-all. So I only stuck to two bottles for the night feeling a slight tingle and decided for now it's my safe limit.
"Rick, I am off to bed, and thank you for loving me. Don't get into any more fights, alright. I can't lose you, you know that right? You promised to never leave me, remember?"
Feeling my beer buzz, I joke with her.
"Even if I got married, I would always have you live with me, you're all I have left Mary, Goodnight and sleep well."
While I resumed my Hacking and Investigations for the night, Mary went to the bedroom and closed the door. She put her hand on her heart and blushed. She muttered.
"Crap, I have crossed that line, sigh."
