Chapter 28

Currently, the clock shows 9 PM. It is a very quiet and dark night, with only the night wind blowing fiercely, making it feel very cold. Certainly, this wind is very dry and lacks moisture because the current area is a barren and desolate land.

The extremely cold air seems to pierce through to the bone.

"Vazz, we will stage a coup tomorrow; you must prepare,"

"Of course, it's all because of the Goblin God's command,"

Krobs and Vazz are currently sitting on rocks outside the goblin settlement. They are alone, facing each other, with a bonfire in the middle.

The extremely cold weather without a source of warmth like the bonfire will torture the body and may lead to illness. Conditions such as frostbite or hypothermia can occur at any time, and a heat source like a bonfire is needed to prevent that.

"What do you think about the other 3 Goblin Berserkers?"

"They seem neutral,"

Vazz furrows his brow, still pondering why the other three Goblin Berserkers remain neutral and haven't taken any action. Throughout the day, they have observed that everything seems to be going normally and smoothly.

"Those two elves also seem to have been quiet in the temple all day, not doing anything,"

"They should have been affected by the poison by now,"

"I agree with that, we'll execute them tomorrow,"

Vazz and Krobs have been very close friends since childhood. They always do everything together within certain limits. They also often help each other when one of them is in trouble.

Vazz and Krobs originally came from the lowest caste goblin families, and they could only eat once every two days. They used to live in a forest in the western part of the Igrasian Empire. They lived only to raid and obtain food for survival.

However, the Igrasian Empire took immediate action by sending powerful knights to eradicate the goblins causing trouble. Vazz and Krobs' parents were killed by the knights, and they had to flee.

Their lives were very sad, witnessing their parents being killed in front of their own eyes and having to leave without a clear purpose for survival.

"Do you remember the incident 45 years ago?"

"Oh, that incident? I can't believe it's been around 45 years,"

"We will continue to make sacrifices for the future of the goblins so they don't stray down the wrong path,"

===========================

"RUN, KROBSS!!! VAZZZ!!! TAKE ALL THE CHILDREN WITH YOU!!!"

"But..."

"THERE ARE NO BUTS, HURRY!!!"

In a cave, a fierce battle is taking place between the goblins and the knights. Krobss and Vazz are very young and still children. Goblin children, like human children, also want to play and spend their childhood with fun activities.

Nine adult hobgoblins are currently facing twelve well-trained Igrasian Empire soldiers. Their equipment is of vastly different quality, like comparing fragile wood to iron.

Both sides are lined up horizontally, and each goblin also wields formidable weaponry. They have iron swords similar to those used by humans and round shields attached to their wrists.

The human soldiers, on the other hand, are clad in full-body iron armor, from head to toe. They also carry long swords and round shields, with the symbol of the Igrasian Empire in the center of their shields.

Behind the humans, there are many goblin and human corpses who have fallen in the intense battle. This is the final stand of the last 9 hobgoblins surviving against the ever-increasing number of human soldiers.

In the middle of the formation, there were leaders of each group, whether goblin or human. Currently, Vazz and Krobs, along with some other goblin children, were very frightened, watching the adult hobgoblins preparing for battle to protect them.

A human warrior leader, with a rather large physique, started banging the back of his sword blade against his shield as a signal for the hobgoblins to advance and attack. The hobgoblins had no choice at this point; if they remained passive, the humans might summon wizards capable of annihilating them.

The only way to ensure the safety of their children was to buy time. The tension in the air and the cold were palpable inside the cave. The hobgoblins' legs were trembling, a sign of their fear.

However, their expressions were very serious, and they were prepared to die. The distance between the human warriors and the hobgoblins was about 10 meters, and they were still locked in a mutual stare-down. The cave was relatively narrow; in a horizontal formation, it could accommodate a maximum of 9 individuals side by side.

After a few seconds, the hobgoblin leader began to shout, signaling to all the hobgoblins to advance and attack.

"HARRGGHHHHH!!!!!"

Nine hobgoblins ran toward the human warriors, ready to give their lives to protect their children and descendants. The hobgoblins used the shields on their arms to protect themselves.

On the other side, the human warriors also charged toward the goblins, shields in front to protect themselves. Both sides were poised to strike each other down.

In a pure physical strength showdown, hobgoblins were much stronger than normal humans, but the quality of the human warriors' equipment far surpassed that of the goblins.

After 2 seconds of running, the hobgoblins and human warriors collided. Their shields clashed loudly. After the initial impact, both sides pushed and shoved, with the human warriors being pushed back several centimeters.

This was followed by a clash of swords and metal, with the sound of constant collisions. Battle cries and shouts of self-encouragement echoed continuously.

On the other side, Vazz and Krobs immediately urged the other goblin children to escape while the adult hobgoblins bought time and focused on the battle.

There was a small opening at the end of the cave, serving as a secret escape route. All the goblin children began to enter one by one, with Krobs and Vazz being the last to go. However, as they were about to enter the opening, they saw their parents lying on the ground, covered in blood.

With great sadness, Vazz and Krobs entered the opening. They had no choice but to not waste any time to escape.

===========================

"Yes, I would cry too if I recall that incident,"

"We mustn't waste anything, just like back then,"

"Even if we're branded as traitors later, it doesn't matter as long as the goblins are not led astray,"

"I agree,"

Vazz and Krobs chatted with a faint smile on their faces. This smile also indicated how challenging their lives had been.

But the real challenge had just begun, and they both knew that the two elves were very strong, but they had a strong belief that they could kill them to protect the goblins.

Vazz then took a red crystal fragment from his pocket.

"This is our ace card to realize our grand plan for our god,"

"Yes, the highest glory for our god!"

"Oh, by the way, your god, huh? By the way, your story is so tragic, I feel like getting all sad,"

From the darkness emerged three Berserker Goblins with a white, transparent aura. This aura was entirely different from typical Berserker Goblins.

Of course, Vazz and Krobs, upon hearing the voice from the third party, immediately turned toward the source of the sound. They were greatly surprised that three other Berserker Goblins had suddenly appeared. Vazz and Krobs immediately stood up and leaped backward, keeping their distance.

"We, as fellow Berserker Goblins, I'm Drazz, why are you so cautious?"

Vazz and Krobs stared sharply at the three Berserker Goblins approaching them.

"You... What have you done to Drazz's body!? I'm sure you're not Drazz! The same goes for the other two Berserker Goblins!"

Vazz firmly expressed his disbelief in Drazz's words.

"Oh, that's not a problem. I just want to take that crystal,"

"What?"

"Anomaly Magic: Anomaly Spirit Hand!"

Instantly, Vazz and Krobs were greatly surprised to hear the words "Anomaly Magic." Berserker Goblins were only creatures capable of using regular magic, not special magic like "Anomaly Magic." Moreover, Vazz and Krobs did not know what "Anomaly Magic" was.

A spirit hand with a severely damaged and irregular form emerged from underground. The hand had only three fingers on the palm, while there were eight fingers on the arm of the spirit hand.

"DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE US!!!!!"

Fallenlily

Hello!

Conquering the goblin race is not as easy as it may seem. After the Karma Elf, I thought of a word, "Anomaly."

I'm not sure why I'm drawn to that word. I've also added Alice Vasilissa's profile to the Glossary. If you're curious about her race and background, you can check it out in the Glossary.

I will try to create many unique races that are not found in other novels. By the way, the night when Vazz and Krobs were talking is about 1 day away from when Aether built the temple.

Thanks!
