The magical beasts finally emerged from the center of the magic circle with such a powerful presence, it was as if you could hear a thundering thumping sound coming from their way. However, since I hadn’t made any contract with them, the beasts were unable to take a step further from the magic circle. The beast stopped their track right at the boundary of the magic circle.
“So… We need to understand each other better before we can make a contract, right?”
First thing first, I still didn’t know anything about the beast I had just summoned.
『I can understand the general thing about Master from Master’s magic power. Master can’t do any offensive magic even though your magic power is outrageously powerful, right? That’s why you called for me, right?』
The beast answered me, he(?) had a peculiar way of speaking.
“Yeah, that’s right. Because of that, I’m wondering if you guys can lend me your power…”
The beast that answered me was a bird type beast with bright red feathers and a yellow beak. If I looked at him closely, his wings seemed to be on fire? He was a really big bird though. If he spread both of his wings, he could’ve wrapped me whole. His tail feather was primarily red, just like the rest of his body but there were other colors mixed in like green, blue and yellow. All the colors in his body were making him a very vibrantly coloured beast.
The said beast was hovering over the magic circle, flapping his wings elegantly.
Huh? I’ve heard that a big bird couldn’t hover because of their size but maybe it was possible for him since he was a magical beast?
『Forget about that twat over there and just make a contract with me.』
Moving on, the next beast that answered my call was a feline type beast. This must be the beast that had been bickering with the bird type beast. This beast resembled the so-called white tiger from Earth. He had a pure white body with stripes, just like a tiger. However, unlike common tigers, this beast had a pair of long canine teeth. The canine teeth must be as long as my arm. Rather than a tiger, I guess this beast was more like a saber-tooth tiger. This beast was also very big, he appeared to be twice the size of a normal tiger. Maybe he was about 2.5-3 meters big?
Nevertheless, these two magical beasts were so pretty! I really wanted to pet them!
“Ren-chan, before you sign a contract, you need to make sure you properly understand what they can do, alright?~

“Indeed… I can feel a high magic power coming from them. They also carry themselves like they are an influential person… That’s the thing I can deduct from their behaviour and magic power.”

Chris-san and the others seemed to think the beasts weren’t bluffing. That the beasts were genuinely powerful. But… As of now, they were still hurling abuse at each other. If I hadn’t stopped them before, things might have taken for the worst turn right now.

“The first one. I summoned you guys because I needed protection so you will need to protect me or in some circumstances, attack someone on my behalf.”
I held up my index finger to the two of them and stared at them right in their eyes with a serious expression on my face as I told them the purpose of this summoning. As a support magician with almost no means of being on the offensive, I think the beasts I had summoned were the perfect fit for me.
“The second one. You mustn’t attack other people or destroy anything without my permission. However if the situations are getting dangerous, you may do so at your own discretion. I’m thinking of signing a contract with the both of you but what do you guys think about it? I’m not asking you to be friendly with each other. I just want you guys to not waste your time by fighting with each other.”
I held up my middle finger as I said so.
It was important to restrain them since these guys appeared to be hot-blooded. I didn’t want to waste money paying for any consolation money or compensate for anything they had destroyed.
“The third one. The contract will last until I die and the remuneration… I will offer my magic power through my blood. Umm… Do I have to give it everyday or once every few days is enough?”
I held up my ring finger but I trailed my words because there was something I was unsure of. I had heard I needed to provide my blood regularly but I didn’t know how often I needed to do it. I glanced at Fer-san, who was standing beside me and whispered to him, asking about the frequency.
“The frequency depends on them. I’ve heard people commonly give their blood once a week but it differs between each beast and contract.”
Fer-san answered.
“Ah… I see. Thank you very much… Okay then, I will give you guys my blood once a week?”
Just like what Fer-san had told me, I offered to give them my blood once a week just like what people commonly did. I think I had covered all the grounds? I had never done anything like this before so it was difficult for me to tell…

The sight of the beasts scrambling for me, with their excitement evident for everyone else to see was so adorable. The first beast that I touched was the bird type beast.
