The garage was completed a five days after Yuuyami has joined.
The outer wall of the garage was painted in scarlet hue, as Lydia decided. However, it would be eerie if it was all red, given that, she drew some white geometric patterns. Which led to increasing its creepyness.
However, it’s okay, Lydia compromised.
Tiled the floor with a white and black checkered pattern, and currently Lydia with Yuuyami were lying there.
The tiles were chilly and it wasn’t felt very comfortable at the current temperature.
Lydia considered the installation of an air conditioner.

“The size of the garage is approximately three meters high, roughly five meters wide and approximately six meters long.” Said Yuuyami, while lying down at the same state. “It is possible to have one four-wheeled vehicle and two motorcycles.”
“I don’t want to make a four-wheeled vehicle, however for the time being.”
“However? What do you what to place here?”
“Two motorbikes. One – for Yuuyami. And in addition to that – tools.”
“Given that, a lot of free space will be left, so let’s build a new simple Parts-Maker and place it here.”
“I agree. Let’s build it first?”

After that, could be neglected a labour of carrying necessary parts from the library.
The second bike will be builded in the garage, afterwards motorbikes could be modified and serviced in the garage either. Everything will be done here.

“Right, this way will be better.”

And then a silence arrived.
Lydia stopped lying down and rised her back.
Yuuyami was still resting when looked up at Lydia.
The eyes of Yuuyami were awfully beautiful, no muddiness could be seen. These eyes were clearer than a glass.
In the pupils was reflected a blonde Lydia. As if an illusion of Lydia trapped in a gem. That was a wonderful feeling.
She wanted to be inprisoned inside of Yuuyami.
Such a perverted desire was born in Lydia’s mind.
Lydia took her eyes off the Yuuyami. For some reason, her heart was pounding.

“Hey, Yuuyami, I’ve been thinking while making a garage…”

Lydia talked to Yuuyami, wanting to distract her from the excitement. Lydia thought that if she enjoyed the conversation, she might be able to escape from this strange feeling.

“Yes. What is it?”
“About human imperfections.”
“And specifically?”
“I can’t make a garage properly, I’m get fatigued quickly, and if I overdo it, my body will easily break.”
“I see, but these are extremely related things. I consider it is because you comparing yourself to me.”
“There no others to make a comparison to.”
“You don’t have to compare. I am – me, Lydia – Lydia. I’m an ‘AD’, Lydia is the human. It’s reasonable that various things would be different, we were from the start different species.”
“That’s right. I understand, I understand, however, it’s kind of sad.”
“You are sad?”
“Uh-huh.”
“How can I get rid of your sadness?”
“Talk with me.”
“Alright. What kind of subject should we talk about?”
“I was thinking about human weakness and ran into the one question. We both – humans, Autodolls will come to nothing someday, right? That’s to say, we will die. And, well, what happens to us after we will die? ”
“Since ancient times, philosophers have thought about it, madly thought, nevertheless the question is still unanswered.”
“I haven’t got an answer, likewise. But roughly, when I investigate it, the theories that you will become nothing accounted for forty percents.”
“I see.”
“It’s impossible, right?”
“I wouldn’t say it’s impossible, however the probability is low. It’s difficult to imagine that my consciousness will be lost just because my body is destroyed.”
“Right. That’s right. Is consciousness really an illusion created by the brain? I believe it’s different.”
“I don’t have an organic brain in the first place.”
“That’s right, even so you’re conscious, right?”
“Certainly.”
“If it’s the case, this’s not the brain that creates consciousness. Understood, forty percents of humankind are wrong.”
“I don’t think humans were able to think of it like Lydia, because they didn’t knew that in an ‘AD’ could dwell consciousness.”
“Humanity is full of things that we don’t know, and I’m full of things that I can’t comprehend.”

Lydia, forcefully, made a long sigh.

“I would like to research it, to find an answer, together, from now on.”
“Uh-huh. Make a new project?”
“Yes. Where does our consciousness came from? I consider it’s as a very meaningful project.”
“Would you like to hear my theory?”
“Certainly.”
“Let’s see.” Lydia lowered volume of her voice, as if she was telling a secret. “I believe, the consciousness do not have a physical container.”
“Is it a mistake that the physical body is a container for consciousness?”
“That’s differentー.” Lydia made a wry smile. “By what means do everybody, and Yuuyami, and humankind, believes that consciousness is smaller than the physical body? Isn’t that odd? Even though, in the one’s mind we can do everything, we can be anything? Moreover, the world expands to infinity, and, if you try to properly think about it, your consciousness should be much larger than your physical body. There are numerous restrictions of your physical body, however, not so many of your mind, isn’t it? Even on the ends of the universe can be created consciousness, right?”
“Indeed.” Said Yuuyami, closing her eyes.

After that she haven’t showed any other reactions, so Lydia adressed her timidly: “Yu, Yuuyami?”

“I was creating the end of the universe.”

Yuuyami opened her eyes.

“Is, is that what it was… Was it well?”
“No, because I don’t know exactly what the end of the universe is, so that didn’t helped.”
“That doesn’t matter. Make your own mental image.”
“It’s a little difficult, isn’t it?”
“Is that so?”
“Yes it is, however I understand that consciousness is infinite. I couldn’t create the end of the universe, even though I’ve traveled the universe for about seventy thousand light-years.”
“Sounds fun.”
“Yeah. It was fun. Incidentally, if consciousness is bigger than the body, why can we only observe the world from our own body?”
“Hmmー” Lydia tilted her head. “Why? It’s probably because it was designed that way, however, by what means was it designed so?”

Humans cannot observe the world from outside of one’s body. Same for Autodolls. For that reason everyone believed that consciousness was contained in the body.

“Probably because it’s boring without restrictions?”
“What do you mean?”
“If we could actually reflect everything that we are able to in our consciousness, then we would be a gods.”
“Is it bad if were ones?”

A silence fell upon them. Yuuyami made a slightly surprised eyes.

“No, nothing would be bad. Nothing would be bad if anyone would be a god.”
“Ah, I know.” Lydia clapped her hands. “Eventually, we will become a gods. At the end of evolution we will be, undoubtedly. We started with a harsh limitations, and, gradually, will remove it. Thus, at the end, there wouldn’t be any restrictions. We will rule this game. Yes, our engineers must have wanted us to enjoy the game, no mistaking it! We’re in the process of becoming a gods.”
“Magnificent.”

Yuuyami applauded Lydia.
Lydia was embarassed and scratched her head with: “Ehehe.”

“The purpose of the humankind is a continuous evolution, aimed for its final form. Myself, and the humanity is designed for that purpose – to be perished. Leaving Lydia behind, though. That is to say, did they choosed me as a next form?”
“It’s seems to be possible.” Lydia nodded. “Maybe humanity has already reached its limits. The only way to go beyond that was to bring forth a new existence.”
“And this is only my very opinion, but I consider Lydia as the summit of the humankind.”
“A, am I?”

Lydia never thought she was at the summit. Therefore, was astonished at the Yuuyami’s words.

“Lydia’s learning and problem-solving abilities are outstanding, in comparsion to humans of your age. It’s extreme.”
“Hmー. As far as I can see the results, that’s right…” Lydia tilted her head. She have never personally felt herself as an outstanding.
“I’m skeptical. I hope I could prove it someday.”

Yuuyami stood up and, while standing on tiptoes, stretched her back. After that, turned her gaze at Lydia and smiled gently.
That smile made Lydia’s heart pounding once again.

“Let’s see, Lydia, as following, let’s construct the motorbike.”
“Uh-huh!”

The sensation wasn’t an unpleasant. Step by step, she will find the origin of this beating.

The night and the day were switched for who knows how many times, occasionally it snowed, dyeing the world white.
It was the coldest period presently. Before long, spring will arrive, the snow melts, and the dry soil would come out.
Lydia and Yuuyami were in the garage to perform the final check of the assembled motorcycles.
Lydia straddled a jet-black off-road motorbike at the chassis dynamometer.

“Well, Motorbike-san’s on-line!”

Lydia seemed to be having fun, she pushed in the starter and launched the Main system of the motorbike.
Simultaneously, the Autogyro system activated automatically.
After confirming that the motorcycle was supporting itself, Lydia put both if her feet on the footpegs.
Lydia wanted to start to ride it right away.

“There is no particular problem. It has started up normally.”

Uttered Yuuyami, while looking at the tablet.

“Yoーsh. Next – I’ll try to turn the throttle.”

Lydia opened the throttle with her right hand, and the motor of the motorcycle increased its number of revolutions.
The rear wheel of the motorcycle rotated on the drum of the chassis dynamometer.

“No problem there. Please, try opening it fully for a moment.”
“Okaーy.”

Lydia fully opened the throttle as Yuuyami instructed her.

“There is no big difference between the motor output and the rear wheel output, and efficiency of the Power-transmission is good.”
“Fufuー” Lydia laughted elatedly. “It’s my design, mmmー. It’s my first task at the Lyu ・ Industry.”
“Liyu・Industry?”

Yuuyami tilted her head.

“Lydia – ‘Ly’ and Yuuyami – ‘Yu’, together ー ‘Liyu’.”1
“Indeed. The ‘Y’ goes for both words.2 I think it’s an excellent name. Lydia & Yuuyami Industry.”

“Uh-huh, uh-huh.”

Immediately after Lydia laughed on a high spirits, the output of the motor rapidly dropped.

“Huh?” Lydia tilted her head.
“Lydia, please stand the motorbike.”

Yuuyami said calmly.

“Eh?”
“Immediately.”
“Wah, I understand.”

Lydia kicked out the motorbike’s kickstands, as she was told.

“Next, please, take the system offline and get off the bike.”

Quickly this time, Lydia followed the instructions of Yuuyami.

“Please, look.”

Yuuyami pointed at the motor.
Lydia turned her gaze to the motor and instantly freezed.

“…why?”

The motor, designed by Lydia, was blazing with a wavering flame.
