The Loda Kingdom’s soldiers were rushing to defend against the enemy army that were flooding in through the large holes in wall.
However, it wasn’t just the enemy soldiers that was approaching them.
“““T-the Giant Soldier!?”””
A Giant Soldier, the one who made the most recent hole, was now charging toward the Loda Kingdom’s soldiers with great speed. The Giant Soldier was over 10 meters tall, and it probably weighed a couple of tons. It wasn’t something that an ordinary flesh and blood human was supposed to go against, let alone defeat.
“Ready your shields!!!”
“““R-right!””’
Despite being frantic, the soldiers still followed their superior’s command and raised their shields. They were no longer fighting for their kingdom, they were fighting for their very lives. But then, all of a sudden, there was a large hole in the ground.
“““Huh?”””
The soldiers were probably wondering if this insane situation was making them see things. However, the fact of the matter was that the Giant Soldier fell in that hole. The hole must have been quite deep because it was only a few moments later that they heard a thundering thud.

“For now, let’s stop that Giant Soldier from moving.”
A Giant Soldier was in the middle of making the Loda Kingdom soldiers scatter and breaking through the city. So, I constructed a moat along the Giant Soldier’s path.

In front of the surprised soldiers of both sides, the Giant Soldier fell into the moat. I had adjusted the size of the moat in consideration of the Giant Soldier’s size, so it was now approximately 30 meters deep.
“W-w-wha…what just happened? Could that have been your doing, Luke-dono…?”
Gaius-san’s face was simultaneously that of shock and relief as he asked so.
“Yeah, I was the one who made that moat.”
“Building that kind of thing, in an instant…what’s more, you also disabled a Giant Soldier so easily despite our soldiers struggling so much…”
From our position up in the sky, we could see 3 other Giant Soldiers.
It would seem like each one was assaulting the city’s wall from each of the cardinal directions. The other 3 Giant Soldiers were currently readying to fire their magical projectile.
“I’ll make the others fall too.”
I then made moats beneath the feet of the other Giant Soldiers and made them fall too.
“Next, to repair that broken wall.”
I could use Facility Customization even on preexisting structures as long as those structures were registered as facilities within my village. And so, the wall that had a large hole in it instantly closed up.
I also used Facility Upgrade on it and made it as tough as possible. Like this, even the Giant Soldiers’ magic gun shouldn’t be able to destroy it so easily.
With all the Giant Soldiers rendered out of action, the empire’s soldiers were soon in a panic. Most likely, those Giant Soldiers were the core of their strategy.
“N-now’s our chance! This is surely the act of our gods coming to our rescue!”
“““OOOOHH!”””
Meanwhile, the Loda Kingdom’s soldiers shook off their initial confusion and fought back with renewed morale. They fired off arrows and cannonballs one after the other from atop the walls upon the empire army.
“R-retreat! Retreattttttttttttttttt!”
Amid the rain of arrows and cannonballs, the empire was forced to issue a retreat.
“That should make things safe for a while.”
We had just driven back the empire’s army which had been unbeatable until now.
The empire’s soldiers probably didn’t even think there was a possibility that they would lose. Yet here they were now, scattered and not at all united like an army should be. The kingdom’s soldiers of course saw this opportunity and launched a counterattack on them.
The enemy force that was brought to take the capital this time would probably be almost completely wiped out.
Moreover, because of their catastrophic defeat and the lost of their key forces, the Giant Soldiers, it would likely take quite a while before the empire could muster another army for another invasion attempt.
“Is this a dream I’m seeing…”
With trembling lips, Gaius-san groaned.
“You are our kingdom’s messiah…I would once again like to apologize for our various discourteous behavior from before! Of course, if you want, we’ll provide you with recompense of any manner! I swear it on my life!”
“In that case…can I have those Giant Soldiers?”
