Guo Ru drove past miles upon miles of green trees, leaving the city to a house that he purchased under an alias. The nine hour drive that began at around four in the morning was now coming to an end, as the tall dark gate rolled to the side for the car to pull into the one story building that was painted in ash brown. After placing the brake and cutting the car engine, Guo Ru stepped out to open the backseat door for the woman who was still asleep. Wrapping an arm around her neck and feet, Guo Ru picked her up and began heading in the direction of the front door. He managed to use his left hand that was supporting her neck to press the white small knob on the wall. From outside the chime of the doorbell could be heard and not too longer after, there was a sound of approaching feet followed by tingling sound that came from fumbling of keys at the door.

The door eventually swung open to reveal a woman who was of average age and looked really frail, she wore an over sized T-shirt of yellow and floral skort, long red hair was parted by the side and held across the top of her head by a knotted band of yellow.

"Good afternoon Mr Guo."

The woman had a questioning look when she saw that the man at her doorstep was not alone, but brought someone with him.

"Ms. Cai, there is something that I would like to discuss with you."

"Does it have anything to do with her?"

A deep sigh escaped from the mouth of Guo Ru, knowing that he had some explaining to do with the woman who although appeared as if she would fall apart at the slightest thing that was thrown her way, his instinct as a former detective knew that she was way stronger than she appeared. There was no mistaking the beauty she once was, while standing by the door without a care in the world.

"Yes it does and I would need you to be as open minded as you can. Is it something you can do?"

The woman had a thoughtful look on, as though contemplating whether or not to take his words to heart.

"Ms. Cai? I'm waiting, what is your answer?"

"Okay! Come in...let's talk."

"First, let me find a room to put her in, before we get on with what I have to say."

"Sure!"

The woman waited for the man to come into the house, before shutting the door behind them. Guo Ru left to settle the woman he brought in, while the other woman sat on the dark brown cotton sofa by the living room.

"Ms. Cai?"

"Cai Peizhi!"

It was as if the man had poured a bucket of cold water on her, as the name brought back all the memories she wanted to remain hidden.

"Y..Yes!"

When he saw that she was now alert, that was when Gu Ru took a seat across from the woman.

"Ms. Cai, I don't know where to begin, but let me start by saying that the person that would be living with us from now on is Miss Zhang Mi, the former President of Zhang Corporation, also known to be the niece of President Zhang Tianyu."

"Wh..What?! That is his niece?! But why?! Why did you bring her here?! Take her away! Anywhere would do! Definitely not where I am!"

Guo Ru purposely chose to mention the name of Zhang Tianyu at the end, because he knew that Cai Peizhi had not recovered from his hands. He saw the look of bewilderment on her face on learning that the man that plagued her with nightmares, now had a blood relative of his in her home.

"Take your pick, you could stay here and ignore the fact that she is related to President Zhang or you could look for some other place to hide from him, which would you like?"

Cai Peizhi saw that Guo Ru had her in a tight spot, to the world and Zhang Tianyu she was a dead woman, the only thing that kept her alive was knowing that she would one day reunite with her daughter.

"I..I will stay."

Reluctantly, Cai Peizhi had to give in to the demands of Guo Ru and begin adjusting to the idea of living under the same roof with a close relative of her arch enemy.
