Chapter 23: Horror Livestream Room (23)

June 01, 2023 by Wyrd

Ruan Qing’s body stiffened after listening to Gu Zhaoxi’s words. He looked at the two who were fighting fiercely, his eyes reddened with a sense of urgency, and tears were about to well up.

But he didn’t struggle or try to rush forward.

Because, as Gu Zhaoxi said, going up there wouldn’t prevent Ji Yan from speaking, and it might even hinder Wen Li’s retreat.

Seeing the young boy calm down, Gu Zhaoxi released his hand that was covering his mouth.

The boy’s long eyelashes trembled slightly, casting a shadow beneath his eyelids. It seemed like a battle was raging within him. In the end, he compromised and asked softly with a pitiful tone, “...How much money do you want?”

Unable to help but laugh at the innocent words of the teenager, Gu Zhaoxi said, “Money? I’m not in need of money, unlike you.”

Ruan Qing bit his lower lip and asked, “...Then what do you want?”

Gu Zhaoxi tightened his grip on the waist of the boy, asserting his dominance as he held the other in his arms.

He was much taller than the other, using his thumb and index finger to lift the boy’s chin, looking down at him from a higher position. “How about giving yourself to me?”

His voice, deep and seductive, carried an inexplicable magnetism. Though it was a question, there was no room for negotiation.

He was merely telling the boy.

Ruan Qing widened his eyes and, after thinking of a certain possibility, looked up at Gu Zhaoxi with a mix of shock and disbelief. He stammered, “I-I have to... go to the third floor of the bar... to work?”

Although it was referred to as “work,” anyone who had been to the third floor of the Fengya Bar knew what that actually meant. After all, the third floor was where one could find romantic encounters.

“Of course not. How could I bear to do that?” Gu Zhaoxi chuckled lightly, his deep and powerful voice alluring. “I want you to belong to me alone.”

If it were before, the boy might have thought that the man meant being a mere employee. But after everything that had happened in the past two days, he gradually understood the meaning behind those words.

The boy’s delicate face turned pale, and he subconsciously pressed his pale pink lips together, turning his head to avoid Gu Zhaoxi’s hand. A hint of fragility and helplessness appeared on his fair, jade-like face as he hesitated to respond to Gu Zhaoxi.

Gu Zhaoxi was not surprised by the struggles of the young man. He lowered his gaze and looked at the young man in his arms.

The young man was delicate and beautiful, so beautiful that he didn’t seem quite real. The beauty mark at the corner of his eye gave him a touch of charm, but the fragility and helplessness on his face made him appear vulnerable, evoking a sense of fragility and pity.

It made people can’t help but want to cherish him, to build a luxurious castle for him, to offer the whole world to him, and to protect him from any harm.

Or perhaps... to be even more cruel and torment him, to confine him in a castle, only allowing him to see himself, making him cry, making him shed tears, making him struggle helplessly beneath him.

After his gaze lingered for a few seconds on the red corners of the young man’s eyes, Gu Zhaoxi lightly glanced at the two people who were fighting intently, kindly reminding them, “Make a decision quickly, oh, your Brother Wen Li can’t hold on much longer.”

Only then did Ruan Qing wake up as if from a dream and anxiously looked towards the other two.

Wen Li seemed to have noticed the knife in Ji Yan’s hand long ago. Now he was no longer directly engaging in a fight with Ji Yan, but repeatedly avoiding his attacks.

However, even though Wen Li’s movements were fast, he still suffered a few cuts from the knife.

But they were all surface wounds, not causing any serious harm. However, because Ji Yan had a knife, Wen Li was clearly at a disadvantage.

Ruan Qing grew anxious, and the next second he saw a flash of silver in Ji Yan’s hand, instinctively shouting, “Brother Wen Li! Be careful!!!”

The young boy’s voice made Wen Li pause for a moment in his actions, but fortunately, he reacted quickly and immediately turned his face to avoid Ji Yan’s attack.

However, because he hesitated for a moment, he avoided it a bit late, and the blade in Ji Yan’s hand instantly scratched his face, though not too severe.

But Ji Yan didn’t give Wen Li a chance to catch his breath, launching a relentless attack.

The worry in Ruan Qing’s eyes deepened, and he struggled to rush forward to stop Ji Yan.

Unfortunately, Gu Zhaoxi didn’t release him. It seemed like he was waiting for his response. But even if he broke free from Gu Zhaoxi’s restraints, he probably wouldn’t be able to stop Ji Yan.

Ji Yan was like a madman without moral ethics; he didn’t dare to bet that he wouldn’t kill Wen Li.

Ruan Qing could only look at Gu Zhaoxi with red eyes, pitifully begging him, his eyes filled with pleading. He compromised and softly said, “Please, please save Brother Wen Li.”

“Okay.” Gu Zhaoxi smirked, a hint of obscure and unclear light flickering in his eyes. He displayed a brilliant smile on his face. “Remember to pay the reward.”

Gu Zhaoxi released the young man and casually walked towards the two, joining the fight to help Wen Li deal with Ji Yan.

The situation instantly changed.

Although Ji Yan held a knife, Gu Zhaoxi was also skilled, and combined with Wen Li, they couldn’t be underestimated, and quickly gained the upper hand.

The actions of the three were fast, and the fight was chaotic, making it difficult to see their movements clearly.

But judging from the situation, Ji Yan was being suppressed.

Ruan Qing finally breathed a sigh of relief and remembered to take out his phone to call the police. After reporting the incident, he anxiously waited for the arrival of the police.

However, at a hidden angle where no one could see, Gu Zhaoxi glanced at Ji Yan with a slight tilt of his eyes, and Ji Yan’s movements slightly faltered as he looked back at Gu Zhaoxi without changing his expression. The two exchanged a subtle glance.

It seemed like they had reached some kind of cooperation.

The three were completely focused on the fight and didn’t pay attention to Ruan Qing.

They also didn’t notice a figure approaching the defenseless young man in the corner.

The viewers in the horror live stream, however, noticed and the barrage of comments went crazy.

[Idiots! Stop fighting! My wife will be gone if you continue! Save my wife, hurry!]

[Please, please stop fighting! Look at Qingqing over there! He’s about to be captured!]

[Stop shouting. They only want to kill that doctor, that despicable creature. They can’t see anything at all.]

The barrage was filled with shouts, but the focused person who was being targeted could not see anything. Wen Li glanced towards the boy, seemingly sensing something, but then immediately evaded an attack from Ji Yan. They didn’t have time to clearly see what was happening with the boy.

“Uhh...!” The boy, who was deeply focused, didn’t notice someone approaching and was suddenly gagged.

The young boy’s eyes widened, and he struggled desperately to call for help. However, his strength was too weak, and he couldn’t break free from the person restraining him from behind. With tears welling up in the corners of his eyes, he was dragged into the dark shadows in the corner.
