[Sing, Yuri-chan!]

–Six days until the final battle, and one day after Seele left.

In an office in the guild’s castle, as I was wondering what to do next, a certain person surprisingly paid me a visit.

“…I never imagined there would come a day when you would side with me, Zansword.”

“Heh, as they say, there is always a first for everything.” Zansword flashed a pretentious smile. The way he sat on the guests’ sofa made him look more dignified than me, the master of the castle.

The sour-faced samurai used to always oppose me, but in an unexpected turn of events, he today came to join my side.

I knew we’d been getting along pretty well these days, but it still took me by surprise.

“This is a big event, to say the least, so I figured you’d choose to become my enemy and challenge me again.”

“While that might be enjoyable in itself, enemy-turned-ally would make a more exciting development. Wouldn’t you agree?” said Zansword with a manly smile.

Haha, how could he say that without blushing? Then again, I fully agreed with him!

“Okay, then I’ll be borrowing your strength, Zansword. Together, we’ll defeat Pendragon!”

“Hmm, well said! As a samurai, it is an honor for me to serve a Demon King such as yourself. I shall be your blade and cut down the force of light that denies your heretic path…!”

We stood up and shook hands.

And so, two of BSO’s top players teamed up!

“So, what about Crutteruo and Yario? Are they going to join too?”

“They are. To put it crudely, they are hell-bent on taking revenge against the assassin players, who mostly have thrown their lot in with Pendragon according to the information we have gathered. With that being the case, they are all in to aid you.”

Zansword pointed outside the window with his thumb.

When I looked outside, I found Crutteruo and Yario assembling the Demon King’s side players who had gathered in this city.

“They are collecting information on the players’ jobs and skills. It shall serve us well in planning strategies and figuring out how to make the best use of their skillset.”

“I see… they sure are reliable.”

Being the battle junkie that I was, I knew my way around small-scale battles.

But wars were in a league of their own and I hadn’t got a single clue about military tactics.

If nothing else, I was confident that I wasn’t suited to the tedious work Crutteruo and Yario were doing.

“At the last guild event, all the strategy-making was handled by Seele. This time around, I’ll be counting on you guys to do the job. Is that okay with you?”

“But of course. Further, we shall ask for the assistance of the people from the Producers Union and the Rookies Force. With their aid, we shall surely come up with strategies that meet your satisfaction.”

Oh, how reliable…!

Seele’s absence had left a big hole in our military side of things, but thankfully these guys showed up to fill it. I couldn’t be more grateful!

“Oh, right, Yuri. I was unable to find nor get in touch with the baldhead… Would you happen to have any idea which side he is going to join…?”

“Oh, you don’t need to worry about him.” I gave a smile to the sour-faced Zansword.

Whether the baldhead became my enemy or became my ally…

“I’ll respect his decision no matter which one he ends up choosing. As long as he’s happy.”

“…What are you, his wife?”

“Huh? What the hell are you talking about?”

I was puzzled by his sudden silly remark.

Well, anyway, with this I’d got people to take care of the army command and the complicated stuff.

The Producers Union was in charge of improving and producing our weapons, the Rookies’ Force was in charge of raising the levels of the allied players, and the top players led by Zansword were in charge of overseeing everything.

That left me… hang on a second.

“…Say, Zansword. Correct me if I’m wrong, but… do I… have nothing to do?”

“You jest. Of course, you do.”

I got shot down.

But yeah, there had gotta be something only I could do. After all, I was the leader of the Demon King’s side even if I had landed in the position because of Pendragon and Merlin’s scheme.

“Yuri, you are our pillar and strongest combat force. You have the important duty of improving your strength, as you always do!”

“That goes without saying. But is that it?”

“Nay! In this war, the outcome should depend on how many players we are able to gather before D-day!”

Hmm… that made sense.

In the last event, I only had to destroy other guilds’ Guild Cores while protecting mine, so I somehow had been able to clinch some wins despite the difference in numbers. But this time, the goal was the total annihilation of the enemy side. It would literally be a war of extermination.

As such, the number of our side’s players would play a crucial factor.

“That is where you come in. There is something you must do to gather players!”

“Oh, whatever it is, I’ll do it!”

I had no idea what it was, but I had overcome many difficulties so far.

If it was to win, I’d do anything!

“Tell me, what is it?!”

“It is nothing complicated. You simply need to—put on a live concert-gaaaaaaaaaaaaah!”

“No way in hell I’d do that, you idioooooot!!!”

I blew away the nonsense-spouting dumbass with a sucker punch!

Live concert? What am I, an idol?! You’ve gotta be kidding!! You want me to die from embarrassment?!?!
