Lin Qiye was truly exhausted.

Both mentally and physically.

He had never expected such events on his first day at the new school – encountering monsters, betrayal by classmates, thrilling battles, inexplicable awakening, and a sudden appearance of a superhuman uncle who stealthily slipped away...

Lin Qiye was not foolish; he knew that tonight's experiences were undoubtedly connected to the hidden facets of this world. Face-eating monsters, the golden light emanating from his body, and the man who single-handedly defeated the monsters – all these hinted at a secret organization operating behind the scenes, dedicated to dealing with such bizarre incidents.

The man was no ordinary person, and from the radio communication he overheard, there was undoubtedly a vast organization backing him. This organization might be concealed from the world, specifically dealing with mysterious events like the ones Lin Qiye had encountered.

He saw the light on his own body, and perhaps even witnessed himself taking down the monsters alone. That's why the man wanted to recruit him...

While he wasn't completely uninterested in the hidden aspects, he didn't want to be drawn into the vortex because of his curiosity.

Some secrets, once known, could never be escaped.

He didn't aspire to be a hero guarding humanity; what he wanted to protect...

Was only his home.

Soon, he sank into a deep slumber.

...

The familiar mist descended once again.

In the dream, Lin Qiye looked around and sighed helplessly, "Won't they let me be? Fight monsters while awake, and now they come knocking in my sleep. Such a tough life..."

Lin Qiye took a couple of steps as if on autopilot, and soon, the outline of a mental hospital appeared before him.

Engraved on the ancient plaque on the right-hand side were prominent characters.

—Gods Mental Hospital.

Lin Qiye stood in front of the gate, reached for the round handle behind him, and the moment his fingertips touched it, the entire ground shook slightly!

The surrounding mist suddenly rolled.

Lin Qiye clutched the handle, looking bewildered.

What's going on? I haven't knocked yet, why is it shaking?

Wasn't it like this before?

Suddenly, a thought flashed through his mind like lightning.

Could it be because... he opened his eyes today?

Lin Qiye lowered his head, looking at the body in his dream. His eyes gradually brightened.

In the past, Lin Qiye's dream body was translucent, fragile like drifting mist.

But today, his body was noticeably more solid, still not physical but no longer transparent.

He raised his head abruptly, gazing at the gate that had blocked him for five years, his eyes filled with determination.

Maybe... today it could work!

He took a deep breath, tightly gripping the round handle, and forcefully slammed it against the door!

"Dang—!"

The ancient clock inside the mental hospital chimed, much louder than before. Fortunately, Lin Qiye's current form didn't have a physical body; otherwise, his eardrums would have been painfully affected.

At the moment the clock rang, the entire mental hospital violently trembled again!

This looks promising! Lin Qiye's eyes lit up.

"Dang—!"

"Dang—!!"

"Dang—!!!"

Lin Qiye didn't stop; he continued to strike three more times, causing the mental hospital to shake as if in an earthquake!

Finally, after the last strike, a loud noise echoed from inside the mental hospital, and then everything returned to silence...

Just as Lin Qiye was about to knock again, the door in front of him made a muffled creaking sound and slowly opened.

The door, opened.

"Hum—Dong!"

After the door swung open completely, a dim and ancient corridor revealed itself in front of Lin Qiye.

The floor of the corridor was made of an unknown material, emitting a faint glow. The walls were adorned with burning clusters of light, mysterious and eerie.

Lin Qiye walked along the corridor, soon reaching a junction. Above the junction hung modern-looking signs.

"Left leads to the ward, and right to the activity area..." Lin Qiye murmured as he looked at the signs. "This setup is exactly the same as the psychiatric hospital I stayed in years ago."

Lin Qiye hesitated for a moment and decided to enter the activity area first.

The activity area had a few rooms, fulfilling various purposes – a multimedia room for watching TV and movies, a lounge for chess and recreation, a study for reading and learning... even inside the building, there was a circular outdoor lawn with various sports equipment.

"Exactly the same, this dream is truly bizarre," Lin Qiye said, frowning in puzzlement.

After exploring the activity area, he turned back towards the ward area on the other side.

When he reached the entrance of the ward area, Lin Qiye suddenly stopped in his tracks.

"Something's different here," Lin Qiye said, looking at the dark and monotonous corridor in front of him.

He vividly remembered that when he was in the Sunshine Mental Hospital, the ward area had several floors, and though not luxurious, the facilities were at least clean and tidy.

But the ward area before Lin Qiye now had only one floor, with only six rooms.

The doors of these six rooms were covered with strange symbols and figures, densely packed, like some kind of seal that made Lin Qiye dizzy with just one glance.

Lin Qiye forcefully averted his gaze from the doors, steadied his mind, and looked elsewhere.

Above the ward area, there hung an ancient signboard, and each room had a different symbol on its signboard.

For example, the signboard for the room Lin Qiye was standing in front of, Room 1, had a black circle on it.

While Room 2's signboard depicted something resembling a staff or a pen.

Lin Qiye walked along the corridor until he reached the last Room 6, still puzzled by these signboards.

He stared at the mysterious door, lost in thought.

In this mental hospital dream, only the ward area differed from the Sunshine Mental Hospital he remembered.

So, were there really patients living in these rooms?

Or, as the name of this mental hospital implied, did it house... gods?

After some hesitation, Lin Qiye slowly reached for the doorknob of Room 6.

It wasn't that Lin Qiye was being reckless. On one hand, this was his dream, so even if something went wrong, it wouldn't have a significant impact on him. On the other hand, after knocking on this door for five years to enter this mental hospital, he didn't want to leave with so many unanswered questions.

In his subconscious, he felt that maybe there was a secret related to him inside this mental hospital.

Why else would the setup here be identical to the Sunshine Mental Hospital where he had stayed?

Lin Qiye's hand gradually approached, and his fingertips lightly touched the doorknob, conveying a slight chill.

Without the anticipated repulsion or pain, his hand naturally rested on the knob.

Lin Qiye pulled with all his might!

The door didn't budge.

He stood still, using all his strength, pulled again!

Still no movement.

Lin Qiye gave up on this room and moved on to the door of Room 5, trying to open it with force.

But it wouldn't open.

Room 4, Room 3, Room 2...

Lin Qiye tried each

room one by one, and none of the doors could be opened. Until finally, he reached the door of Room 1.

With an expectation of failure, Lin Qiye forcefully pulled the door of Room 1.

"Click—!"

A soft sound came from the doorknob. The intricate patterns and symbols on the door suddenly shattered and gradually dissipated into the air.

Lin Qiye was startled, took a few steps back, and stared at the front!

The door, opened.
