The room descended into a brief tranquility.

After a few seconds, Dr. Li regained his composure. "Celestial being?"

"Yes."

"What is He doing?"

"Nothing at all. He's like a golden sculpture, sitting in the center of a massive lunar crater, gazing at Earth, as if... keeping watch?"

Dr. Li rubbed his temples and sighed in frustration. "Qiyue, do you know how far the Moon is from Earth?"

"Close to four hundred thousand kilometers," Lin Qiyue calmly replied.

"Close to four hundred thousand kilometers." Dr. Li repeated, "Even with the most advanced telescopes, one can barely observe the lunar surface. And yet, when you were seven years old, lying on the roof of your hometown, you saw an angel on the Moon with the naked eye?"

"I didn't see Him," Lin Qiyue softly spoke. "He saw me. I just lifted my head, and my eyes seemed to be dragged through space, meeting His gaze."

"So, He forced you?" Dr. Li inquired.

"Sort of. Otherwise, how could I see the lunar surface? I don't have clairvoyance."

"But if there really is an angel on the Moon, why hasn't humanity discovered it in so many years?"

"I don't know," Lin Qiyue shook his head. "Perhaps that celestial being prefers not to be observed. Besides... do humans truly understand the Moon?"

Lin Qiyue's sincerity made Dr. Li consider calling for a car to take him back to the mental hospital.

After all, Dr. Li specialized in treating mental illnesses, and he had encountered all sorts of cases. In his medical career, he had identified a pattern – the more earnest the nonsense sounded, the more severe the illness.

"What about your eyes? What happened?" Dr. Li asked.

Lin Qiyue extended his hand, gently rubbing the black satin over his eyes. Without any emotional fluctuations, he explained, "That day, I locked eyes with Him for a moment, and then... I went blind."

Dr. Li opened his mouth, lowered his gaze to the case file in his hands, and fell into silence.

Under the section for the cause of blindness, only four words were written:

— Unknown reason.

So... what really happened back then?

Could it be, as Lin Qiyue claimed, that he saw the celestial being on the Moon? Otherwise, how could sudden blindness be explained?

This thought only crossed Dr. Li's mind for a moment before he quickly suppressed it.

That was close; he almost let a psychiatric patient lead him astray!

He could almost imagine the expressions of the doctors when young Lin Qiyue, blind for a decade, spoke those words in front of them. No wonder the boy had been forcibly kept in the hospital. Regardless of how one looked at it, his statements were typical of a psychiatric patient.

There were plenty of such individuals in the hospital – those who claimed to be the reincarnation of Sun Wukong, hanging on the horizontal bar every day; those who believed they were coat racks, standing motionless in their rooms all night; those who saw everyone as their spouse, sneakily grabbing others' buttocks...

Well, the last patient was a greasy middle-aged man.

"All these things you're talking about happened in the past. What about now? How do you view this situation?" Dr. Li adjusted his emotions and continued with the examination.

"It's all delusions," Lin Qiyue calmly stated. "That day, I just accidentally fell from the roof and hit my head on the ground. As for my eyes, it might be some nerve damage, leading to blindness."

He had said these words countless times, with proficiency and composure.

Dr. Li raised an eyebrow, jotted something down in the medical records, and then chatted with Lin Qiyue about daily life. About twenty minutes later, he glanced at the time, stood up with a smile, and shook hands with Lin Qiyue, encouraging him.

"Alright, the reexamination ends here. Your condition is stable. I hope you can adjust your mindset and live well." Dr. Li left, politely bidding farewell to Lin Qiyue's aunt who suggested he stay for a meal.

"No, I have another patient to see. I won't disturb you."

As the door closed, Lin Qiyue's smile vanished instantly, as if it had never existed.

"Delusions, huh..." he murmured to himself.

"Bro, it's time for dinner!" his younger cousin Yang Jin called out, carrying dishes from the kitchen.

Yang Jin was Auntie's son, four years younger than Lin Qiyue. Since Lin Qiyue's parents went missing and he started staying at Auntie's house, the two had grown up together, forming a bond stronger than that of biological siblings.

"I'm coming," Lin Qiyue replied.

As Lin Qiyue sat down at the cramped dining table, a warm sensation radiated from his foot. He was momentarily surprised, then a slight smile appeared on his lips.

Looking under the table, Yang Jin scolded with a laugh, "You lazy little guy, usually you don't move a muscle. But when it's time to eat, you're faster than anyone."

A small black and scaly dog stuck its head out from under the table, tongue hanging out of its mouth. Panting heavily, it approached Lin Qiyue, licking his bare feet, seeking affection.

Three people and one dog – this was a family.

Simple, challenging, yet strangely comforting.

A decade passed like this.

Lin Qiyue patted the dog's head, picked a piece of meat from the few on his plate, and put it in Yang Jin's bowl.

"Give it a bone to gnaw."

Yang Jin didn't refuse; with their brotherly bond, saying more would only make things awkward. He was more concerned about something else.

"Bro, are your eyes really almost better?"

Lin Qiyue smiled faintly. "Yes, I can see now, but the sensitivity to light hasn't fully recovered. I need to keep wearing this black satin for a few more days."

"A few more days? Auntie told me to remind you, the eyes are crucial. Even if you can see now, don't rush to take off the black satin. In case... in case the sun damages your eyes again, that would be a pity! Let's be cautious and wear it a bit longer!" Auntie hastily advised.

"I know, Auntie."

"By the way, Bro, I saved some money to buy you a cool pair of sunglasses. I'll show them to you later!" Yang Jin seemed to recall something exciting and said eagerly.

Lin Qiyue shook his head with a smile. "Ah Jin, although sunglasses can block sunlight, the effect is much worse than the black satin. I can't wear them yet."

"Alright..." Yang Jin felt a bit disappointed.

"But when my eyes are completely healed, I'll wear it every day for shopping, and I'll buy a pair for you too," Lin Qiyue added.

Hearing this, Yang Jin's eyes lit up again, and he nodded vigorously.

"By the way, little Seven, Auntie has already arranged the transfer to another school for you. When this semester starts, you'll be able to switch from the special school to a regular high school." Auntie seemed to remember something

and spoke, "But have you really thought it through? Regular high school and the special school are different. Considering your situation, what if..."

"There's no 'what if,' Auntie." Lin Qiyue interrupted her, "My eyes are already better, and if I want to get into a good university, I have to start on the same starting line as everyone else."

"Dear child, even if you don't get into a good university, it's okay. Auntie will support you all the way!"

"Bro, I can support you too!"

Lin Qiyue's body trembled slightly. Under the black satin, his eyes remained unseen. He pursed his lips, forming a determined smile.

A resolute shake of the head.

No words were spoken, but both Yang Jin and Auntie felt his determination.

Even the little black scaly dog at their feet nudged Lin Qiyue's ankle.

"Woof!"
