Returning to the room, Lin Qiye closed the door behind him.

He did not turn on the lights.

It was late at night, and outside the window, scattered starlight fell to the ground. In the dark room, Lin Qiye sat at the desk, slowly removing the black satin from his eyes.

In the mirror on the desk, a handsome young face was reflected.

Lin Qiye looked very good. If he removed the blindfold and made a slight adjustment, coupled with his inexplicable aloof and profound temperament, he would undoubtedly be a campus heartthrob.

Unfortunately, his constant use of the black satin, combined with his identity as a disabled person, completely concealed his radiance.

In the mirror, Lin Qiye had his eyes closed.

His eyebrows slightly furrowed, the eyelids covering his eyes trembled, as if trying hard to open them. Even his fists clenched with effort.

One second, two seconds, three seconds...

His body trembled for a long time, but finally unable to bear it, suddenly relaxed, breathing heavily.

A few drops of sweat trickled down Lin Qiye's cheeks, a hint of anger appearing between his brows.

Just a little... he was just a little short!

Why was it that every time, he fell just a bit short?

When would he be able to open his eyes again and see the world for himself?

He claimed he could see now, but he lied.

His eyes couldn't open at all, not even a tiny slit.

But he wasn't lying.

Because even with closed eyes, he could vividly "see" everything around him.

The sensation was peculiar, as if he had eyes all over his body, perceiving everything in all directions without blind spots. Moreover, he could see more clearly and farther than with his original eyes.

At first, he couldn't achieve this. In the first five years after losing his sight, he was no different from other blind people, relying on sound and a guide cane to perceive the world.

But inexplicably, starting five years ago, his eyes seemed to undergo some changes, allowing him to begin to sense his surroundings.

Initially, only a few centimeters in front of him, but as time passed, he could "see" farther and clearer. Now, five years later, his range of "vision" had reached ten meters.

For a normal person, seeing only ten meters might render their eyes useless, but for a young man who had lost his sight, these ten meters meant everything.

Crucially, within this ten-meter radius, he had an absolute field of vision, crudely put, he could see through things. In a more sophisticated sense, he could observe every minute detail, from airborne dust particles to the internal components of machinery, to the subtle movements of a magician under a table...

And this ability seemed to originate from the eyes that had been tightly closed for ten years beneath the black satin.

Despite possessing this almost superhuman power, Lin Qiye remained dissatisfied. While having a ten-meter absolute field of vision was impressive, he wanted to see the world with his own eyes.

It was the persistence of a young man.

Although he failed to open his eyes today, he could keenly sense...

The moment of truly opening his eyes was not far away.

After washing up, Lin Qiye, as usual, prepared to go to bed early. The years of living as a blind person weren't entirely bad; at least, he developed a good habit of going to bed early.

But lying on the bed, subconsciously, the image reappeared in his mind.

Under the dark cosmic sky, the silent lunar surface, the ashen ground reflecting dim starlight. In the central crater, a figure stood like a sculpture.

That figure stood there silently, as if it had existed since ancient times, emitting a divine golden light. The divine aura was enough to make all creatures bow down.

Behind him, six exaggerated wings spread open, blocking the sunlight cast from behind, leaving a huge shadow on the silver-gray ground.

What lingered most in Lin Qiye's mind, indelible, were His eyes.

Those eyes filled with divinity, burning like a furnace, glaring like the sun up close!

He saw those eyes for just an instant, and his world was plunged into darkness.

Ten years ago, he spoke the truth but was diagnosed with a mental illness.

But he knew what was real and what was imagination.

Since seeing the archangel on the moon, he knew that this world... was not as simple as it seemed.

Slowly, Lin Qiye fell into a deep sleep.

He didn't know that, at the moment he entered the dream, in the dark room, two brilliant golden rays shot out from the slits of his eyes and disappeared in a flash.

...

Drip, drip, drip...

In a misty world, Lin Qiye walked alone.

The fog around him rolled, seemingly endless. Although he walked in emptiness, every step he took produced a crisp collision sound, as if there were invisible ground beneath his feet.

Lin Qiye looked down at his body, sighed.

"It's this dream again... knocking on the door every night, quite tiresome, isn't it?" Lin Qiye shook his head helplessly and took a step forward.

The next moment, the surrounding mist rolled back, revealing a peculiar modern building in front of Lin Qiye.

It was strange because although it was a modern-style building, some details were treated with a mysterious touch.

For example, the large iron gate carved with countless deities, the electric lights that seemed to burn like fireballs, the floating patterned tiles beneath his feet...

It was as if modern architectural style was mixed with elements from ancient myths, incongruous yet possessing an indescribable beauty.

Lin Qiye recognized this building, and it looked very familiar.

It was extremely similar to the Sunshine Mental Hospital where he had lived for a year before. The most convincing evidence was that where the words "Sunshine Mental Hospital" were originally written on the entrance, a new line of text had replaced it.

—The Pantheon Mental Hospital.

"A strange place." Lin Qiye shook his head, took a step forward, and reached the front of the large iron gate.

Five years ago, not only did his body undergo sudden changes, but his dreams also began to change.

For five years, every night, he had the same dream, and the protagonist of these dreams was this mysterious Pantheon Mental Hospital.

However, the entrance to this mental hospital had always been tightly closed, and no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't open it.

Lin Qiye circled around the mental hospital countless times. There was only one entrance, the large iron gate in front. Although the surrounding walls were not high, the most absurd thing was that every time Lin Qiye jumped, the height of the wall would increase accordingly.

As for brute force... even if Lin Qiye threw his entire body at it, the large iron gate wouldn't budge.

There seemed to be only one way to enter.

Knock on the door.

Lin Qiye grabbed the round ring on the large iron gate, took a deep breath, and heavily struck the surface.

Dang—!

A sound like an ancient clock echoed in the mental hospital. The large iron gate shuddered, swayed, but didn't open.

Dang—!

Another strike, and the iron gate remained closed.

Lin Qiye didn't seem surprised or frustrated by this.

Patiently, he continued to knock.

In these five years, he had deeply understood the rules of this dream. Apart from knocking on the door, no other method could open the large iron gate. Moreover, in this dream, he seemed unable to do anything else except knock on the door.

Fortunately, he didn't get tired in the dream, or else his body would have long given out.

Thus, Lin Qiye, like a diligent worker, patiently knocked on the door throughout the night...
