Once they finished their breakfast where Noah praised his daughter non-stop with the omelet that she cooked.

Lucille beamed at her father's words and couldn't help but grinned at Jess, her face full of pride.

And Jess was glad that she agreed to Lucille's request to cook breakfast for her father.

Last night, when they were in the restaurant Lucille sent her a message that she wasn't really sleeping when Soraya tried to wake her up for dinner.

She pretended to be asleep so they could have a date. But in exchange, Jess would help her make breakfast for her father.

The girl was adorable with her act of playing cupid with her and Noah and she was grateful that Lucille was such a sweet child.

When breakfast was over, Lucille cutely asked for her father's permission to swim at the pool again. But with how much she played at the pool yesterday, Noah allowed her to swim just for two hours, which became three because she bargained with her father.

"You can enjoy your coffee on the balcony. I'll do the dishes since you're the one that cooked."

"Lucille was the one that cooked," she laughed.

Noah bent down and caught Jess into a lingering kiss as he murmured against her lips. "Thank you."

She cupped Noah's face and pushed him away for a bit so she could stare at his eyes. "There's no need for thanks. Lucille considers me as a friend. And you help a friend."

"Miss Zimmerman, are you saying that the breakfast that you made wasn't meant for me?"

He acted disappointed and Jess laughed.

She really finds it funny that Noah can act like a petulant child without qualms. The sudden change of character was just too funny for Jess.

Noah is a powerful man. But with her, he's just himself as Noah - her boyfriend and a good father to Lucille... And with that Jess was glad.

"Well, I beat the eggs and put them in the pan so, yeah, I cooked them."

Noah fixed his gaze to Jess who was clearly having fun teasing him.

"Finish your coffee before I lose control."

She chuckled. "What's the plan for today?" She asked as she sipped her coffee.

Noah carried the dishes to the small sink, cleaned them under running water, then put everything in a tray and pushed it behind a hidden flap door behind the counter.

The hotel would be the one really going to wash them and not him.

"We could bring Lucille to some local tourist spots." He answered her as he dried his hands in a kitchen towel. "More coffee?" he asked Jess as he poured himself a cup.

"Yes, please." She pushed her cup away from her.

Noah put his cup of steaming coffee across Jess, picked up her cup to refill it. Jess was never really satisfied with just one cup of coffee in the morning.

"We can bring Lucille to the local shops around since she loves shopping."

"Hmm," he mumbled as he sipped his coffee.

"There are some places that Markus recommended that are kid-friendly. We can check them—"

"You asked Markus?" He interrupted her in the middle of her sentence. A small crease can be seen on his forehead.

"Yes." She cocked her head to the side with questions in her eyes. "Is there a problem?" She ended up verbalizing her questions because Noah refused to meet her eyes.

He sighed. "It's not really a problem. Just wondering how you and Markus seemed to be so familiar with each other now."

"After he ran around like a chicken that got his head chopped off when I got sick…" She observed Noah stiffened a little. "Not to mention, he's your friend. I think being familiar and friendly is expected."

Noah held her hands and caressed them. "Yes, sorry."

Jess bit the inside of her cheeks to stop the words 'I'm not your ex-wife' and took a deep breath to control her emotion.

"Baby, I'm sorry. I'm not thinking of you in any way like her," he said as if he read what was on her mind.

Jess smiled. "I know."

They fell into a comfortable silence while they drank their coffee and Noah drew circles inside her palm. A small smile adorned her face with Noah's antics. Something that drew her to Noah was his ability to show his words into actions and of course, his adoration to his daughter and how he tries his best to be the best father for Lucille.

Jess realized long before she fell head over heels in love with Noah that those characteristics that she likes most about him, were the same things she hoped she had with her own father. Hence, Luke likes to tease her that she saw Noah as a father figure which she doubts.

She simply admired those traits in him because it shows what she looks for in a man. Someone that would be present not just on good days but during not-so-good days as well.

Constant. She longed for those since she was a child. With how her father jumped from one woman after the other, leaving a trail of broken hearts. She wanted a man that would be a constant part of her life.

"Hey," she softly called Noah's attention that was glued on making lazy circles inside her palm.

He glanced up to meet her eyes. "Hmmm," he said lazily in his throaty voice.

Jess curled her toes when she heard the voice that he usually used in bed with her.

"I have something to give you."

"What is it?" His eyes were on her but his fingers won't stop doing what they were doing inside her palm.

"It's in my bedroom—"

"Oh!" he copied how his daughter would exclaim. "Miss Zimmerman, I never thought you would be so forward with your invitation," he leered at her.

She rolled her eyes and laughed softly, pulling her hand from his hold. She then, coquettishly cupped her chin as she propped her elbows on the table. "Would you be so kind as to accompany me to my room, mister?" she fluttered her lashes as she asked.

Noah pushed his chair abruptly and grabbed her hands as if he couldn't wait to bring her to her bedroom.. Jess's laughter echoed through the room.
