Yeah, this is why fighting the Udaeus alone is considered difficult, even for level 6 adventurers.
Luckily for me, I find these group battles relatively easy now that I can fire off stellar magic at range.
Focusing the enchantment into my blade, I slice through Spartoi one by one, ending each swing with my sword tip pointed to another enemy where I then fire a bullet of stellar magic.
Like this, I slowly make my way toward Udaeus.
Before I can reach it, a sweeping arm interrupts me.
Just what I was waiting for.
After the fight against Balor, I had been thinking of a way to quickly charge up Strike of Hope against big, relatively slow opponents like that.
Well, time to put the theory into practice.
Holding my sword horizontally, I brace myself while concentrating stellar magic on my left foot.
Just as the monster rex's attack makes contact with me, I release the building tension in my enhanced foot, sending me spinning at insane speeds, each rotation slicing into Udaeus' arm.
Strike of Hope, the skill charges with every attack.
The best way to charge it?
Attack a shit tonne in a short amount of time.
Of course, spinning around like a Beyblade in the middle of battle is not an amazing strategy for most situations.
In fact, in general, this would probably get you killed.
But with big, slow, bulky opponents like the Udaeus here, it's perfect.
Eventually reaching the end of the arm, I crash into the ground, rolling over a few times before coming to a stop.
Letting the waiting healing magic enter my body, I feel the scratches, bruises, and dizziness disappear.
Okay, note to self, stick the landing next time.
Though feeling the inexplicable pressure of Strike of Hope having grown immensely from that one attack, I can't exactly call it a failure.

The ground explodes as a shockwave passes through where I had just been standing, instantly killing the other three Spartoi.
Oh.
I should probably watch out for that.
Feeling another pang of unease, I dodge yet another shockwave attack, this time faster, catching my foot and launching me backward.
Wiping the dirt from my mouth and eyes, I hastily chant Aqua Corona to heal my battered body and broken foot.
This fight just became much harder with that shockwave attack thrown into the mix.
But rather than feel any fear or worry, a smile of exhilaration appears on my face.
Yeah, if it wasn't this difficult, it could hardly be considered an 'adventure'.

The Udaeus then moves in to attack while sending a shockwave through the ground, yet Sirius is still unmoving.
Just as I'm about to yell out in warning, a white line crosses my vision, before bursting into a blinding flash as a sonic boom echoes throughout the chamber.
Blinking away the light, I notice that my ears are still left ringing from the explosion.
Looking toward my husband, I see that he has crossed to the other side of the monster rex, leaving Udaeus' body to disintegrate as its top half falls from its base.
My senses now clear, I bring my palm up to my face.
Stupid husband, it seems you've done something quite amazing once again.

Done casting Aqua Corona for, hopefully, the final time today, I move my gaze over to the group of people who had watched over my fight.
Shocked faces donning most of them, I see that there are a few outliers.
Riveria and Finn look to be impressed, Bete seems deeply pissed off, and one of the Amazon twins, Tiona I think, is radiating pure excitement.
Ais on the other hand looks... hungry.
That same 'hungry' expression she made before soundly beating me up in a spar the next day.

From the palm of her hand, a tendril of fire emerges, lighting up the room in a warm glow.
Seeing that, an idea comes to mind.
My short-sword Alf's Melodia, made from the Amphisbaena fang, obtained the added effect to enhance my magic.
I think I might have the perfect gift for my redheaded beauty.
"Sirius, you can level up. You only have three options for development abilities."
Focusing my attention on Mother Astraea, she then continues.
"First is Strong Body, which as it says makes your body strong. Next is Magic Resistance, which reduces the effects of magic and curses. Last is Spirit Pleasure, an advanced version of Spirit Healing."
Not needing to think very long, I quickly relay my choice.
"I'll go with Spirit Pleasure, please."
"Alright."
A glow emanating from my back, I feel the familiar thrum of untapped power, but not nearly as much as before.
As I thought, as one gets higher in level, the rapid increase of levelling up decreases.
Well, this means I should have no issue controlling my strength, so that's good.
"Here's your status, Sirius. You also gained a new magic. You'll need to practice it as it seems quite powerful."

Lifting her arms, she then bursts into laughter.

"Of course, I agree! I need to make up a whole week without my babies!"
Excited agreement from Alise.
"Indeed, it would be a suitable way to introduce the children to more of the city."
Readjusting Leo and Stella in her arms, Ryuu then smiles at me.
"But I do think it would be best to make a trip one of these days so that they can see the world."
Mother Astraea then butts in.
"That would be good for them. Perhaps if a quest outside the city appears we should take it and have a long Familia vacation."
Hmm, with the crime rates being low enough, we can leave the city in the hands of the Ganesha Familia, so that wouldn't be a problem.
But I don't think babies are meant to handle large journeys, we'd have to wait a little bit for the kids to grow older.
"Yeah, well, an idea for the future I guess."
Handing over Alea to Alise, I then head upstairs to put away my equipment and clean up for the night out.
