Chuckling lightly, I lean my head back, thinking of the adventure that would be starting tomorrow.

"Today we reach the heights of legends!"

With Finn's speech setting a fire in the hearts of his Familia, they begin heading into the dungeon while Finn makes his way toward our group, the first-class group.
He certainly has the charisma befitting a captain... but shouldn't he save that for later on?
I mean, we're only stopping at floor 28 today, isn't it a bit... much?
Well, whatever.
Not my Familia, not my problem.
"Now, for our first-class adventurer group, while the lower levels will be leading the way until the 38th floor to get experience, we will still be spread throughout the force to aid anyone who needs it. Don't want any unnecessary casualties."
"Tch. Why do I gotta protect those damn weaklings again, huh?"
God, even though I know he's not evil, it doesn't make Bete any less of a dick.
Before, I could only endure his insults in silence.
He was right, after all.
No matter how fast I was growing, I was still weak.
But now, I was strong.
Stronger than him, probably stronger than anyone else on the expedition force.
So...
"We've been looking for a new rug for our bedroom, so it would be in your best interests to keep quiet, mutt."
Bete's eyes twitch while his tail bristles at my subtle threat.
"Ah!? What'd you say, you bastard!?"
Before he could grab onto my collar, a cold voice pierces the air, causing him to freeze in place.
"Bete Loga, I advise you to go any further, or there will be consequences. As my husband would so crudely say, 'Stop being a dick'."
Ryuu~ that cold gaze... it's so hot!
But wow, to stop that brash asshole with words...
Is this 'mother power'?
"Bete, stop antagonizing our allies, or we'll have to stop bringing you on these joint expeditions."
Clicking his tongue at Riveria's words, Bete steps back to lean against the wall.
"Sorry about him... again... haa, so troublesome. While his mouth is like... that, he is as trustworthy of an ally as one can have." Riveria says.
"Yeah, we know. But still, what's with his obsession with 'weaklings'? Doesn't he remember being a level 1 too?"
Alise says while shaking her head before turning to the group.
"As Lyra and Finn discussed before, we'll be spread throughout the expedition force. The Amazon twins and Gareth are in the front... does everybody else remember their positions?"
Everyone nods their heads, to which Alise responds with a thumbs up.
"Good! Well, that's the supply cart making its way in, so that's our queue! See you guys later!"
Taking both mine and Ryuu's hands, we then run over to the cart, Alise sitting atop it while Ryuu takes the left and I take the right.
The entrance to the dungeon drawing close, I calm my breathing and focus my concentration.
While going into the upper floors no longer elicited the same excitement as it had before, I still needed to remain vigilant in the dungeon.
