Chapter 21 Terrorism!

(*Celia’s POV*)

Celia: “Mom, why did you come to find me, anyway?” I ask with a curious tone.

Currently, Amelie and I are resting on top of a building. Both of us have other targets to deal with, but that fight with that vampire CEO was somewhat tiring. As such, we decided to take a break and eat.

Amelie: “That cloaked woman informed me that you would need help, that’s why.” She answered before taking a bite of some food.

Celia: “Ah, I see…” I reply.

My brain isn’t made for these kinds of situations… God, the Devil, or that being that took control over the Devil’s original body. Who should I trust in? Yestila is probably aware of this, but it doesn’t seem like chaos is that beings goal.

Rather, it seems as if she is slowly taking control of people. She told me her goals, but can I believe her words? To me, they felt like the truth, but I truly don’t know the extent of my ability to discern truth and lies with my new evolution…

After eating for around twenty minutes, we both we back to work. I hope that the rest of my targets aren’t as strong as that vampire Supreme Goddess was… As I thought this, I heard the sound of an explosion.

Looking toward the sound, I saw a small building set ablaze. Okay, assuming that this is that beings doing, maybe she is actually evil… With a sigh, I flew over to the commotion. Once there, I was met with various people in horrible states.

Celia: “…”

To get to Heaven, unless you’re like me with an entry ticket given by Cimra, you have to be a good person before dying. The people here were already dead, and it wasn’t like they could die once more. But that is where the problem comes in.

Like being an immortal with extremely slow regeneration, the people were in different states of suffering. They couldn’t heal themselves, but they also couldn’t die. Whoever caused this horrible incident can be found later. As for now, I rushed over to them and started to heal everyone I saw.

Surely, they were people left in the burning building, so once I finished healing those on the outside, I used water magic to deal with the flames. Charred people were seen stumbling out of building, and the sight made my heart ache. Faster than before, I had healed them.

Having experienced such a thing, I am sure that me healing them won’t be the end. Such a terrible thing to experience, they will probably need at least months of therapy to truly recover from this event. Luckily, the medics that arrived to take everyone away assured me that they will be cared for. Though, before I could leave, I saw a familiar face that had stopped me.

Celia: “Detective Gana.” I say after looking at her face.

Gana: “Ah, I am grateful that you showed up to deal with this. It would have been a nightmare without you. Not many people in Heaven bother to get any power once here, so finding people with water or healing magic is troublesome.” She said with a smile.

Celia: “Do you have any idea how this happened?” I ask with a serious tone.

Gana: “Just someone who needed to eat, is all.” She replied with a shrug.

Celia: “…”

Detective Gana strikes me as the type of person that likes to string people along. With a sigh, I turned around and was about to fly away when she called me once again.

Gana: “Wait! I was just about to ask you for help!” She exclaimed.

Celia: “If you want my help, then please stop beating around the bush.” I reply with a sigh.

Gana: “Okay…” She said with a dejected tone and expression.

Are you a child?… Okay, calm down… Gana is a cute woman, so I should treat her better… I just hope that she won’t string me along anymore, even if she oddly enjoys playing such a game.

Celia: “What do you need my help with? Do know, I am actually dealing with something very important at the moment.” I ask with my arms crossed.

Gana: “This is important too! Celia, sometimes, mistakes are made, and people who should end up in Hell, end up in Heaven.” She replied.

Celia: “And?” I urge her to explain.

Gana: “And this is one such case. A Supreme Goddess of Terror is the one responsible for this attack. She needs people to be in terror to feed, but that is hard to achieve in Heaven.” She explained.

Celia: “So she does things like this? Why not arrest her?” I reply with a raised eyebrow.

Gana: “She got double lucky…” She said with an angry tone.

Celia: “Meaning?” I reply.

Gana: “Not only did she accidentally end up in Heaven, she also kept all of her power. Truly, only you will be a match for her.” She answered.

Celia: “Fine… what is her name?” I ask.

Gana: “No one knows.” She replied with an embarrassed tone.

After talking to her a bit more, I left once again. I wasn’t upset at her request that didn’t even have the basic required information, as this Supreme Goddess of Terror, is one of my targets. Actually, she is my literal next target. I just have to find her, which will be an interestingly annoying process, I am sure.

*Some Time Later.*

With no leads, I sat down on a random bench. Despite the horrible incident, the park was lively and filled with various types of people. The park was pretty big, and I am sure that I have seen almost every culture enjoying the park. I guess that racism isn’t a thing in Heaven?

Regardless of the reason, it was a weird place. No, I am just against such a coming together of cultures. It is just a little jarring. Elves, and pretty much every kind of fantasy race you could think of, were enjoying the park. I tried and failed to not stare at the small family of beings that resembled big foot…

As I finished another glance, I noticed something odd. Sitting beside me was a little girl. Her hair was bright blond, and she looked straight up out of that childhood book. If her name isn’t “Alice” the world is truly wrong. She even wore a blue and white dress. But why is she sitting down with me?

Celia: “Um, excuse me? Do you need something?” I ask with a motherly tone.

Little Girl: “Miss, do you think that I am evil?” She asked.

Celia: “How can you be evil? And what does my opinion matter? I haven’t known you for more than a few seconds…” I reply.

The little girl didn’t reply, and instead lunged at me into a hug. Thinking that she was just a lonely and innocent child, I let her do as she wished. I rubbed her back and pat her head over and over again, saying that it was alright. If I had known what me doing this would cause, I wouldn’t have given the alice-like girl my kindness…
