Chapter 55: Unprompted Visit.
*Lia’s POV*
I don’t even remember going home… or rather, I do not remember going back to Celia’s residence… The moment I opened up my eyes, I was quickly, and thoroughly taken care of by Celia’s maids. Although, they do get somewhat touchy feely while cleaning me, I do not feel as if they’re doing it in a sexual manner.
What was odd, is that I was put in a beautiful dress. Somehow it fits me, but this must be one of Celia’s dresses… Just imagining her wearing such a dress, right before I slowly take it off of her…
Yooni: “Ha! See? I knew that you were a pervert.” She said with haughty laugh.
Lia: “Shut up!” I yell in my head.
By the Goddess… how many more times in my life will I have to tell Yooni to shut up?…
Yooni: “I would say, at least a few hundred more times, sunshine.” She said with a giggle.
Lia: “…”
Getting rid of the annoyance showing up on my face, I let one of the maids guide me to the dining room, as it was surely time for breakfast. As I had guessed, it was. Celia was already at the table, waiting for food. Her dress… Damn! She was so beautiful, it almost brought a tear to my eye…
Regaining my sanity, I ate breakfast with her, before jumping into a serious conversation about her valuable resources. Most of what she has right now, is owned by Amelie, so despite how much she denies it, she would surely love to have Celestium of her own, which she can spend as she pleases.
I brought up my mother, but without much of a certain tone about if she would help us or not. Not because I do not trust her, but because she doesn’t really care about anything that doesn’t revolve around her wife. Amelie and my mother are good friends, so she and her wife are ageless, just like Amelie. As they somehow got Amelie to make them ageless.
If you’re wondering why my mother would give up her position, even though she could easily be in it for as long as she wishes, it’s because she doesn’t wish for it. Wouldn’t that mean that she would have less time for her wife? Which is the reason why she had so many heirs in the first place.
Though, it didn’t matter if only one of them was still living. If they aren’t fit to be the head of the family, mother said that she would “deal” with them, and try again another time. Imagine being 12 years old, and hearing your mother say such things…
But that is a problem that doesn’t matter anymore, as Celia seemingly had an idea for a backer. And not Amelie, who would be a weak backer. Since one wouldn’t worry, and just attack us, since Amelie being inside the kingdom is rare.
Once again, I was in her carriage, not even knowing what our destination was. Though, I thought that I was used to the crazy things that she does, so I was calm.
That was until I looked out the window… We were heading right in the direction of the royal palace! Taking a glance at Celia, she didn’t even look phased. Rather, she actually looked to be somewhat bored…
I tried to reason with Ria, or I mean, I gave her a pleading look, but she just shook her head. I am not ready to meet the king and queen! Why is Celia so calm about this!?
Yooni: “Haha! I like this girl! She gets shit done, just like how she offed that shitty teacher!” She said with a laugh.
Lia: “…”
As I didn’t make my protests known, we still arrived at the castle after a short ride. Trying to calm down, Celia ruined that completely, as she just walked right into the castle, completely ignoring any kind of security. What was odd, was that no one even tried to stop her… Amelie clearly still had a lot of power over this kingdom, it seems…
The crazy girl… she walked up to a maid, and just asked her where the queen was. Not even asking if she was even available… And the maid is just going to guide us to her!? Ah… my head hurts so much…
Celia: “Lia? What are you standing around for? Come on.” She said with a smile.
Lia: “Right…” I say with a sigh.
After walking for ten minutes, we came to a nice room. Rather than a room for private talks, I think it’s the queen’s private room for just her, and her friends. It certainly didn’t give off a diplomatic vibe at all.
To prove this point further, my mother was present in the room… Mother… Taina of the Hertria family, she still looked as regal as ever. She looked to be almost as regal as Queen Marna.
Lia: “Mom? What are you doing here?” I ask with a confused expression.
Taina: “Shouldn’t I be asking you that question? I am just visiting a friend, whilst you, dear daughter of mine, have come here unannounced.” She said with a serious tone.
Oops… Mother does love me, but she is pretty blunt… I can’t believe that I am still scared of my own mother after all this time. To be fair to me, I have many reasons to fear her, after all…
Celia: “Please do not be upset with her, she just followed me here.” She said with a calm tone.
Taina: “You? Child, what family do you hail from? To think that you could even just walk around the royal palace as you please…” She said with an upset tone and expression.
Marna: “Taina… wait… that is…” She said with a stutter.
With the confidence of a drunk man, Celia just walked over to them, and sat down on one of the single love seats, before replying to them.
Celia: “I hail from no family, but I am Amelie student.” She replied with a proud tone.
Taina: “…”
Marna: “…”
Taina: “Damn… that silly girl… I am still upset that she didn’t consult me about you. It is almost like we aren’t even friends.” She said with a sigh.
Celia: “To be fair, she only took me in as her student not that long ago.” She replied with a shrug.
Taina: “That doesn’t matter. If she took you in as a student, then you’re more than worthy of such a position.” She replied.
Celia: “I am sorry that she didn’t mention me to you. I wish for no ill will from you at all. As Lia is a good friend of mine.” She said with a calm tone.
Lia: “…”
Yooni: “You should be more like Celia, Lia. See how she handles herself? You could learn a lot from her.” She said with a serious tone.
Lia: “I do not wish to hear your advice.” I say with a pout in my head.
Yooni is right, though… If it was me, I would have just crawled up in a ball, just seeing Mom direct her angry gaze at me like that. And if she wasn’t there during that event with that teacher, I probably wouldn’t have had the courage to fight him…
Marna: “Lady Celia, what might be the reason for you to come here?” She asked with a nervous tone.
Celia: “I have a business venture that I am sure at least one of you will be greatly interested in.” She said with a serious tone.
Marna looked to be frightened by Celia, while Mom looked somewhat interested. Soon, once Celia explained what she came here for, they looked as if they both were about to pass out from the shock of what she told them…
