IllyasArt Hello! This is my latest novel! Unlike my other novels, this one isn't finished yet. The first volume is finished, though. And you can buy it on Amazon here. If you would be so kind, you can also get the first volume(and anything else I've made.) on my Patreon for donating $10 or over that, here. If you wish for updates, the $10 and over tiers will give you access to chapters when I actually finish them. (Maybe one a day? Idk, as I will be mainly working on other novels as well. But, there will at least be one new chapter every few days.)

Chapter 77: It Went Wrong!

*Celia’s POV*

I hate that I completely jinxed myself… Look, it’s not like she tried to harm me, or anything like that. Is that this girl is stupidly weak at the moment… I have gotten hurt protecting her a handful of times already. Even though it has only been an hour…

Why have even more Skeleton Ghosts come out to fight me, and why do I keep running into traps? I feel like this dungeon is trying to spite me… Maybe, it is actually trying to get us killed? Could be…

Celia: “Kuria, are you not able to use ANY of your power at the moment?” I ask with an annoyed tone.

Kuria: “None at all. I mainly use magic, without it, I am practically a twig.” She said with a shrug.

Celia: “Weren’t you always a twig then? Someone would just have to get close to you.” I ask with a raised eyebrow.

Kuria: “Nope. I use magic to make my body stronger, and I put a barrier around myself as well. With magic, killing me is very hard.” She replied.

Celia: “So, I will have to defend you until we get out of here?” I ask with a sigh.

Kuria: “That is the case, yes. I am truly grateful for you protecting me. Your reward will be great, so rest assured.” She said with a smile.

Don’t think that your murderer is cute. Don’t think that your murderer is cute… Don’t think that your murderer is cute! Fuck… too late. I think that she is really cute… Eh, I have no plans on dating her, but she is very cute. Have I said that enough? Too bad. This girl is cute, and I say it as many times as I want!

Ruina: “I find your method of coping, to be a little odd, yet effective.” She said with a sigh.

Celia: “But it is effective.” I reply with a deadpan tone.

Ruina: “…”

Another new experience, is babysitting a Goddess. Though she is playing it off well, I am sure that having to rely on me, is somewhat upsetting to her.

The evidence to this, was that she randomly ran ahead of me. And of course, she stepped on another trap. With speed I didn’t even realize that I could muster, I pushed her out of the way.

The trap this time, was an arrow trap. Getting impaled with a bunch of arrows, isn’t fun at all. God… this hurts so much! That reward better be worth it…

Ruina: “I don’t even have a body, and I felt that just from seeing it…” She said with a concerned tone.

Kuria: “Celia!… Sorry, I won’t run ahead again.” She said with a remorseful tone and expression.

Celia: “Good. Now, please help me removes these arrows.” I ask with a groan.

Frankly, I didn’t lose much HP from getting struck by those arrows, but I lost way more as I pulled them out. I was now also quickly losing HP from bleeding out. I do not recall packing any, but maybe Ria slipped some healing potions into my pouch?

Ah, what luck! She actually did! I took one out, pulled out the cork, and then downed the entire potion as quickly as I could. As it was just a healing potion, there was still pain all over my body. But it is far better than bleeding out to death.

For many hours after that, Kuria had been completely meek, and just quietly followed behind me. With that, I barely ended up getting hurt by a trap. Though, I did still have to save her a few times. Each time I did, Kuria got meeker, and meeker.

She was once an all powerful Goddess, so having a mortal like me protect her, might be vexing to some degree. Even worse, it is a mortal that she once killed.

While continuing to walk, Kuria tugged on to my uniform. Looking back at her, she clearly wanted to tell me something. As she opened her mouth, her stomach made some interesting noises.

This caused her to go completely red in the face. Honestly, seeing a powerful Goddess like her this embarrassed, is a reward all on its own. Trying not to laugh, I guided her over to some rubble that we could sit on, and then handed her some food to eat out of my pouch.

Celia: “I have a lot of food, so just tell me if you want to eat more.” I say with a warm tone.

Kuria: “I feel like you’re being a little too nice to me…” She said with an unsure tone, before she took a bite of a piece of bread.

Celia: “I have been enjoying this life miles more than I did my original one. So in a messed up way, I sorta owe that to you killing me.” I reply with a shrug.

Kuria: “Well, if it was me, I would just want revenge. Though, I guess that I should be happy that you have a positive outlook on what happened.” She said with a sigh.

After a short lunch break, we set off once more. This place was a winding maze, finding our way out will take a decent while. Or, it should have, but I think that we actually found it. Or, at least, we find yet another stone door.

Kuria: “Hm… what an interesting door. Have you seen more like it in this dungeon?” She asked with a thinking pose.

Celia: “I have, now, watch this.” I say with an excited expression.

Kuria: “Watch what?” She asked with a head tilt.

Celia: “Open Sesame!” I yell once again with an excited tone.

Kuria: “…”

As she was about to open her mouth, with most likely intent to make fun of me, the door started to open. She was then left with her mouth hanging open, like a fish.

Ah, mission complete once more! There is no need to hold back, when I have the chance to make a cute girl show an interesting reaction, I shall endeavor to make it happen at any cost to me, or anyone else involved!

Kuria: “I was going to say, that there were lasting effects of me killing you, but it seems like you just enjoy messing with people.” She said with an annoyed tone.

Celia: “Not people, but just cute girls exclusively.” I reply with a giggle.

Kuria: “Right… Let’s just leave now, before I lose more of my sanity.” She said with a sigh.

Celia: “Right away, o humble Goddess.” I say with a playful tone and a bow.

Kuria: “…”

As agreed before, I walked ahead to lead us. While walking, I heard Kuria make a pained groan, and looked back at her. She was on the ground, holding onto her feet. Rushing over to her, I could see that her feet were bleeding, and were covered in blisters. I didn’t notice, but she wasn’t wearing any footwear at all…

Celia: “Why didn’t you tell me about this?” I ask with a stern tone.

Kuria: “Pun not intended, but put yourself in my shoes. I was once a powerful Goddess, but now I have to rely on a mortal.” She said with a vexed expression.

Celia: “Relying on someone, and ignoring yourself being in pain are two different things.” I say with a scolding tone.

Kuria: “…”

I took another healing potion out of my pouch, and then got her to drink it. Her feet then looked better within seconds. Kuria would still be in pain when walking, so I suggested that I carry her, but she denied such a suggestion, as you would expect. Either way, I still gave her some boots to wear.

Luckily, we were about the same foot size, so she didn’t have any problems putting them on. As we continue to walk, Kuria was even more silent than before. I was about to talk to her about it, but I felt a cold breeze brush across my face.

Kuria felt it as well, so we both ran in the direction of the wind. After running for a few minutes, we came to what was clearly the entrance to this dungeon. It was a frozen wasteland! How the hell are we to escape from this place now!?…
