Chapter 27

The Third Prince Palace was crowded from early morning.

By the time dawn began to fill the world with a blush, Rosena was forced to wake up and bathe.

After washing her body in water with rose petals floating in it and putting finely grounded pearl powder, gold-coated fragrance oil was applied.

While everything was proceeding step by step, Rosena couldn’t overcome her drowsiness and dozed off.

“Do you like it?”

Asked Ella, the new maid in the Third Prince Palace.

After dozing off for a long time, Rosena pushed her sleep away and slowly opened her eyes.

Rosena’s sleepiness was gone by the sight of herself in the mirror.

Her appearance now was so breathtaking that her usual appearance couldn’t come to mind.

Her thick, ripe hair was neatly curled and secured with a jewelled pin.

The highly pinned hair revealed a soft neckline.

It was fresh, like a flower that bloomed, perhaps because she put on white powder and lively makeup.

Rosena touched her cheek, it’s an unfamiliar face as if she was looking at someone else.

She thought it wouldn’t be much different from usual, however this was not makeup, but a transformation.

“You’re so beautiful. Maybe because you’re pale, you look good in anything.”

Rosena sat still at Ella’s compliment, and her ears were slowly blushing.

It was embarrassing even though she knew it was just a formal compliment.

She wore a wedding dress after all the decorations.

The dress highlighted her collarbone and shoulder line, opening the sides.

It was a design that had shirring at the belly part, a slim fit down, and then spread out like petals.

Lace with transparent beads was added in several layers, so it was as if it would fly away at any moment.

The fabric of the dress was white, but whenever it received light, the beads glistened in subtle colors, making it not plain.

Rather, the snow-white dress made Rosena’s face look clean.

After wearing the dress, she wore gold thread and lace embroidered gloves.

And finally, she put on a jeweled flower crown and a veil.

Finishing all preparations, Rosena grabbed the hem of her dress and lifted herself up.

The bride and groom had to go separately because they could not see each other’s faces before the wedding.

Rosena climbed into the carriage with Ella’s help.

“Illi…”

Rosena sighed after looking for Illian like a habit.

Illian would already be waiting for Rosena at the wedding hall.

While riding in the carriage, Rosena kept touching her fingertips because she was nervous.

She was already prepared a long time ago, but she couldn’t calm down when she was about to get married.

Even though she was aiming for a divorce, marriage was still marriage anyway.

She felt uneasy thinking that she would officially become a couple with Yerhan and live in the imperial palace.

“I hope I don’t make mistakes.”

Rosena leaned by the window and stared out at the view.

Come to think of it, she doesn’t even know who is coming as a guest.

Her mother and Rania must have been invited.

Although their relationship had become awkward, the two used to stop by the Imperial Palace if they had a chance.

Relationships with the relatives were almost cut off since her father died, so the seats on the bride’s side were likely empty.

Then how many guests are there from Yerhan’s side?

Even if he was an illegitimate child of the Emperor, he is officially a member of the imperial family, and the royal family will attend.

Rosena had never seen a imperial family member before except for Yerhan.

She might take this opportunity to see other royal families.

The emperor who pushed her father to death will come.….

Rosena clasped her fists lightly to suppress her emotions.

The scenery that quickly passed gradually caught her eye.

Rosena leaned close to the window without realizing it.

It was still a long way from reaching the wedding hall, but the building was so large that it could be seen from a distance.

As the wedding hall neared, Rosena’s mouth opened unconsciously.

Thousands of real flowers were laid all over the place, and she couldn’t count the number of chairs and tables for guests to sit on with her eyes.

It wasn’t just that. The wedding was not only big in scale, but the details were also outstanding.

The tables and chairs outside were all wrapped in white silk, and the setting was impeccable.

Before she knew it, the carriage stopped.

Rosena got out of the carriage with the help of a well-dressed horseman.

“…Ah.”

Rosena stood by from behind and watched the wedding hall.

She thought the number of guests wouldn’t be that big, but there were so many people gathered beyond her wildest imagination.

Are they all guests from the groom’s side?

Rosena swallowed the tension rising to the top of her neck.

She never thought the wedding would be this large.

When the music that had been filling the entire place changed, the noise from the people rang at once.

It was the music that marked the beginning of the wedding.

In the distance, a priest in white began to walk in.

As the priest climbed onto the podium, the trumpet of the pipe band overwhelmed the surroundings.

“Groom, please enter.”

All the guests looked back at that one word.

A man with a distinct presence stood at the end of the aisle.

Wearing a black robe with gold threads and a blue cape, he created an indescribable unique atmosphere.

Long legs stretched out and began to walk down the aisle without hesitation.

Rosena, who was watching him walk perfectly without wavering, came to her senses when she heard the voices of the people around her.

“Now the bride is entering.”

The servants helped Rosena up.

After carefully checking the bouquet in Rosena’s hand, they sent Rosena out.

“Bride, please enter.”

With that one word, Rosena moved forward.

Eyes stinging more than the noon sun turned to Rosena in unison.

She couldn’t breathe properly because she felt like she was on a display.

Rosena glanced across the faces of the guests.

Most of them were unfamiliar faces, but sometimes there were familiar people.

She could see the faces of relatives who she had lost contact with and the nobles who had made friends with her father when he was still alive.

And in the front seats were Macella and Rania.

The two shook their fans and looked at Rosena with a glare.

Rosena turned away from the women.

The sound of the dress sweeping by the aisle, sprinkled with flowers, was vividly heard.

It was a warm day and the spring breeze gently touched Rosena’s cheeks.

As the tension eased, the surrounding landscape slowly disappeared, and the blond hair, melting in the sun, caught her eyes.

Firm shoulders in a robe that fell until the waist. Everything was so wonderful.

Rosena walked towards him.

She tried to walk calmly without rushing, but her legs got faster without realizing it.

Standing upright, Yerhan slowly turned his head.

Rosena stopped walking at his glance.

Time seemed to have stopped like a stalled step.

In that gaze, there was the Yerhan she faced seven years ago in the rain.

She couldn’t forget those glares burning like fireworks, though he had a plain, calm face.

A sense of numbness flowed down the whole body.

Rosena had so far denied the unusual attraction she felt towards him.

Saying it was not Rosena’s own feeling. It was just someone being pushed by compulsion.

And even now, she thought this feeling of attraction to him wasn’t her own.

After coming to her senses, Rosena took a few more steps and stood beside Yerhan.

Yerhan, who was standing bluntly, also seemed to smile lightly as Rosena stood next to him.

When the two stood side by side, the priest began to recite the ritual officiant message.

Numerous blessings poured out, including marital peace and well-being.

But nothing came into Rosena’s ears.

Her nerves were all over Yerhan.

She couldn’t stop being conscious of him even when she tried to comfort herself that it was nothing but a ritual.

Rosena grabbed a bouquet in her hand.

As the officiant that was being read by the priest passed by her ears like water, she heard a word.

“Groom, do you promise to be faithful to the bride forever?”

Surprised, Rosena looked up. At the same time, Yerhan and her eyes met.

Yerhan was looking at Rosena intensely.

Rosena’s breath heated up as she faced his fluttering eyes.

She didn’t know the word ‘forever’ would feel so heavy.

“Yes.”

The priest, who heard Yerhan’s answer, looked away and at Rosena.

“Bride, do you promise to be faithful to the groom for the rest of your life?”

“…Yes.”

An answer came with a slight tremor.

It was only Yerhan and Rosena who knew this oath was a lie.

No one would marry and dream of a divorce.

“Please put the rings on each other’s fingers.”

Yerhan took out the rings.

When Rosena hesitated and reached out, Yerhan squeezed her wrist lightly.

She could feel the sensation of gloves being pulled down, which were vividly wrapped around her hands.

It was just gloves, but she felt like she was being stripped off.

Yerhan slowly put a ring on Rosena’s finger.

Finally, the ring in her hand glistened as it reflected sunlight.

Yerhan, staring at it, kissed Rosena lightly on the back of her hand.

The sensation of dry lips touching and falling was vivid.

After a moment of daze, Rosena quickly grabbed a ring with the same design.

She was just putting on a ring, but her body trembled as if she had a huge mission.

“May the grace of the divinity be before the two.”

After the priest drew a sign with his hands, he patted his chest lightly.

All ceremonies were over.

“The two now have become husband and wife.”

The words relaxed her, who seemed to sink any minute.

Finally, it’s over…

“Lastly, the kiss oath.”

What?

Rosena looked up in a hurry and saw Yerhan.

With the most serious look on his face, Yerhan was looking down at Rosena.

Holding onto a bouquet, Rosena realized that this was inevitable.

Having barely made up her mind, Rosena closed her eyes for a kiss.

Her eyelashes trembled weakly. A shadow began to fall over the slowly closed eyelids.

A low whisper came along with the sound of breathing.

“Please relax.”

The soft lips touched the corners of her mouth with the scent she once smelled.

His lips were dry, without any moisture, but he had warmth.

A numbing sensation flowed down from the lips that came into contact with hers.

Her lower abdomen tightened and then loosened repeatedly.

His dry lips quickly became moist with breath on them.

It was just a kiss, but the pleasure spreading from the mouth was driving her crazy.

Rosena dropped the bouquet without realizing it.

As soon as the petals touched the floor, Yerhan stretched out his arms and wrapped them around Rosena’s waist.

His hot tongue slid down through her lips.

A little more.

Rosena began to crave for more.

She thought she could let her body be crushed, if this kiss could last forever.

Rosena grabbed Yerhan by the shoulder, forgetting that it was a wedding.

“…Haaa.”

After a long kiss, she lost her breath with the heat.

Rosena encountered deep eyes.

It was full of Rosena as it was back then.

Rosena unconsciously reached out to touch his eyes.

Then the protruding hand of Yerhan clasped Rosena’s wrist and kissed her fingertips.

She felt more sexual tension than when their lips touched.

In an instant, there was silence despite the music.

Only then did Rosena realize this was a wedding hall and looked up.

Everyone was looking at them with their mouths wide open.
