ACT V
THE GLORY WARS

CHAPTER 170
THE MASTER OF ALL

“I will win.” Chris now with rapid regeneration, and almost healed, declared once again.

Skill: Maelstrom

The electricity crackled out from his body, with the power that hit grade sixty, forming a gigantic flail connected to his sword’s tip. The weapon was a formidable combination of his will and pure lightning force, its chain-like links crackling with blue sparks as it swung through the air.

The electrified flail was the proof of Chris's mastery over the imitated skill of Maelstrom. Indicating that this was not the first time he had used this attack

“Agh..” Rudolf grumbled, not because it looked like Hans was going to receive the beating of his lifetime, but because Chris almost perfectly imitated the skill he had developed on his own, all due to Bernard’s keen eyes in deciphering skills. All three commanders of Parv were masters of their own.

“Swoosh, swoosh!”

Hans was not the one to give time to his opponent, his SeedBullets, more than ten this time, fired right at Chris. But Chris swung the heavy-looking flail effortlessly, shattering the mana paths of the bullets and using the momentum, he increased the reach of the flail and bashed Hans, heavily from the right.

The impact was cataclysmic. The flail collided with the tree monster's massive body, sending a surge of electricity coursing through its bark-covered exterior. Bright arcs of lightning danced across the green colossal frame, illuminating the battlefield in a dazzling display of power.

“Argh…” The Elderwood-looking Hans let out a deafening roar, its branches thrashing in agony as it struggled to withstand the relentless onslaught of electrical energy. Chris, undeterred, continued to swing his electrified flail with rhythmic precision, each strike delivering a surge of thunderous power that reverberated through the battlefield.

With each strike, Hans’s once-mighty monster form began to falter. Its bark cracked and splintered, revealing the smouldering, charred wood beneath. The thunderous onslaught continued until, with one final, earth-shattering blow, Chris shattered the colossal creature into a shower of splintered wood and fading sparks. As the remnants of the defeated tree monster rained down upon the battlefield, Chris stood almost victorious, his electrified flail crackling with residual energy. He looked above, focused, trying to find Hans amid falling debris, and spotted the falling boy from the sky.

Psychogenic shock occurred.
Resucicating the host

“Haa..haa..”Hans gasped. He was electrified, and couldn’t even sense his limbs, yet he conjured a mana path, not aiming at Chris but his landing spot, far from his opponent.

~SmokeSeed~

The seed, a bit fatter than his usual ones, struck the ground, covering it in a cloud of smoke, welcoming Hans in its embrace as he closed the distance to the ground. He was fine physically, with some superficial bruises and minor cuts, but he was in pain as he was deeply connected to the Elderform, every hit he received and every bit that was torn apart from him, was real for him and the pain was still there, sitting inside Hans’s mind.

Chris was ready, “I know that was not enough for your kind—”

“What the fuck is your problem. Stop being a bitch, Chris.” Hans shouted, launching a volley of spears towards Chris, each one finding its mark with unerring accuracy. The heavy steel poles fell on Chris, but he managed to block and then avoid it by increasing the distance. So, when the rains of spears didn’t serve the purpose, Javelins followed suit, piercing through the air and converging on their target with lethal intent.

“Just where are they coming from” Chris pondered as one landed near him, grazing his shin. But Hans was biding his time, his arsenal allowed him to think. He cried, debuting his old spell that didn’t find a chance to show yet.

~BlastSeed~

A sphere which resembled a fruit rather than a seed, charged at Chris, a lot slower than usual and Chris not knowing what it was swung his heavy thundering flail, but upon contact an explosion happened. So strong, that the shockwaves sent him flying and amid the Chaos, Hans closed the distance, flying as he entered the innermost region where swinging the flail was not practical.

“You wanna see why we are superior, I’ll inscribe that in your body,” Hans shouted, swinging his punch right at Chris’s face.

Chris bore the brunt, trying to retaliate with his flail, but Hans got even closer, just a breathing distance from him, and delivered another punch with deadly precision, right through the gut. Bending Chris's back in pain. “Agh…I can heal” Chris justified, consoling himself, “This much is nothing—”

“Then let's change it,” Hans stated, curt, prompting Chris to raise his head and as he did, he understood what was coming for him. Prepared, he let out his ravaging aura, shouting, “Aura Burs—”

~ManaStorm~

Before he could shoot his aura, Hans’s iconic attack met him. The torrential mana that ravaged the air itself finally met its foe. Giving him the microscopic cuts unable to heal with his rapid regeneration.

“I'm from a family that ruled these lands for thousands of years. You can’t stop me through my own family’s power.” Hans screamed, continuing the sarcasm, “And if you possess that very power don’t you belong to the same blood, you idiot—”

“That’s why I hate it myself. If I don’t have this cursed blood flowing into me…at least I’d be happ—”

“Then you’d be weak. You are denouncing the very gift that many kill to have. Including me.” Hans was enraged, all the time when he was fighting Chris, he never got angry, but Chris hating the very thing that he wanted but couldn’t have, triggered his envy. “Get ready, you bastard.” A seed of SharpDeath, the steel bamboo, now transformed with several experiments during his suspension time, conjured into his palm. Now malleable, it stretched and Hans found a spear in his hand.

With sheer determination and a mind filled with past knowledge, Hans began to tap into the depths of his family's legacy. With a quick step, aided by the blessing of wind, the elven pendant, he reached the stumbling Chris. His hand moved like a trained spearman, ready to sweep every enemy in his path.

But Chris was surprised, not incompetent. His hand moved, blocking the sweeping strike, his aura fully conducted, and broke the normal steel spear in impact. The weapon fuelled with aura was far superior to the normal one that Hans used, but thanks to the abundance of mana around, Hans had the means to infinitely generate his now transformed weapons. He quickly conjured, changing the steel bamboo into a mace, its head so heavy that it kissed the ground in its birth, not ready to leave Mother Earth.

With a sudden burst of explosive power, Hans pivoted on the head of mace at his back foot, initiating a seamless spin. As he spun, his body became a blur of motion, his legs and hips generating tremendous force. His legs were extended, core muscles engaged, and his throwing arm whipped around with blinding speed. The mace successfully connected with the other side of Chris which was unguarded. A blur, a gleaming sphere moving in sync with his body's rotation.

Chris was sent flying, since this time due to ManaStorm, his defence was several times weaker. Yet Hans closed in again, thanks to a sprouted vine that snatched him to Chris’s predictive crash position. Confronting and welcoming him, Hans screamed.

~ManaStorm~

And with just a hand distance remains between them. The torrential mana hit Chris again, negating his momentum and giving him several injuries.

“Shick! Shick!” The twin daggers, made from the same materials thrusted into Chris’s stomach. Giving him the first grave injury. They both stared at each other looking directly into each other’s eyes. “You can’t run from what you are, Chris. You are a Parvian too.” Hans declared plunging the daggers further.

Their battle sent many people in awe, Chris’s sudden surge in power, Hans transforming into a green monster and then fighting a grade sixty knight with a different weapon. They saw Hans in a new light, a powerful mage with mastery over spears and daggers. His every motion sent them thinking just how well he trained to achieve this mastery level, and his conjuring weapons out of nothing was another thing to wonder.

They all stood up, as they saw Hans pull out the daggers,  not wanting these two friends to fight further. The blood, thick and hot flowed out like a broken dam from Chris. Injured beyond self-healing, Chris clasped his wounds, putting pressure on them. He was astonished, Hans had forced him into this state by using the normal weapons. He laughed at himself, but the blood oozing out from it stopped his snicker. “How can you use these many weapons..how are you—”

“Because I embrace who I am—”

Pain suppression has ended.
Releasing the nervous system to a normal state.

“Fuck!”
