ACT VI
THE AGE OF UNDEAD

CHAPTER 192
FATHER VS SON (2)

“Shit!” Hans cursed, the undead Samson's acknowledgement was the last thing he wanted. “Gramps, let's get out of here, he is giving me creeps.” He pleaded. As, even when the death king fought others, his eyes remained on him.

“Don’t worry Squeaky” Rudolf emerged from the negated cyclone, with bruises all over his body. “I won’t let him get to you,” Rudolf assured.

“Oh! Is that it?” Undead Samson asked in his hollow voice, hinting he had accepted the challenge.

Whereas, Hans refuted immediately, “Stop ruffling his feathers, you geezer.” He didn’t like that curious gaze of the undead Samson, and it looked like Rudolf’s words had motivated that abomination to get to Hans. “Damn it, grandpa.”

Hans might have suppressed his aura generation, but stopping his movement was the thing on another level. Many times, Samson has broken through his control, but fortunately, the people fighting Samson were not just some chumps, they were skilled. Hans’s existence in this battle was just another level of assurance in the fight.

The previous skill of Samson had sent everyone awry. Some filled with light bruises but some with deep wounds. But he couldn’t crush their will to see this end. Bored, the undead king found an interesting thing. He got ready for charge, aiming right at Hans. “Skill: ParticleDisto—”

Norwin, the one unscathed from the previous attack swung his sword, Faith, shouting, “Who the hell do you think, I am.” The momentum of his sword froze everything that came into its path, even the Undead King himself. He knew it wouldn’t take Samson long to dig out of the ice. So he activated his bloodline, the summoning ability that had made the Grimgar Royal family stay in power since the dawn of time.

“Visera. Marika.” He called aloud, his voice reverbing in the skies, and Hans felt the pressure of another kind, he never met a classless beast, but now he saw two emerging out of portals. One with pale blue feathers was named Visera and one with ebony feathers, Marika. Both were classless beasts of towering height, their fluttering was like a snowstorm on the rise. The already low temperature fell even further as they descended beside Norwin.

“Crack!Crack!” The ice began to splinter as howling gust of wind starts attacking it. A faint green glow emerged from them and then, the ice shattered into fragments, as Undead Samson saw the world again. He wasn’t completely out, yet the two gigantic birds, Visera and Marika dived at him. “How dare these fowls.” Unfazed by their intimidating presence, Samson's wind aura sword manifested in his hands, a shimmering blade crafted from pure, swirling air. The howling gales that surrounded him were drawn into the sword, amplifying its power.

With deft and agile movements, Samson shot an aura blade at them. “Clung.” An ethereal shield of wind, mimicking the structure of a turtle’s back-projected the birds, deflecting the heavy aura slash. Courtesy of Eleanor and it finally provided the opportunity for Marika, the ebony-shaded avian beast to dig his claw and send Samson high towards Visera, where in a frenzy, the bird ripped apart Sasmon’s body, pummeling down what remained of him as it dived down.

“Dijkstra Now,” Norwin shouted and the Sad death appeared at the tattered body of his former king. The only thing remaining was to bring it back to Reina, where she could put him to rest by Light element.

“Do you think, it's this easy?” Undead Samson whispered as Dijkstra tried to touch him. “Swoosh!” Several strands of winds tore down the afterimage of Dijkstra as he managed to escape in time. Appearing, beside Hans and Arat, the always quirky knight, breathed in relief, saying “Woah! I lost my balls there.” He turned to Norwin, shouting, “You dumb fuck. Do your job seriously.”

While Dijkstra bickered, Norwin didn’t let Samson regenerate in peace as his birds kept tearing him apart every moment they got, “What now?” Norwin asked the group but Samson’s hollow voice echoed as he got frustrated with the birds.

Imperial Sword Art - Orion

Hans felt his restriction over Samson loosening so much for the first time. He bellowed warning others, but none had the time to listen to his cries. Orion, the move was not of aura skill, but the part of Imperial sword art, one of the secret constellation move. Many recognised it and Chris too, since he was on path to learn a secret move named Taurus.

Taking gigantic strides, Samson leapt from one place to another like he was travelling between spaces. His swords changed from one hand to another as they swung in a blur, prompting Hans to mutter, “Dear great-grandfather, which part of his swordsmanship looked mediocre to you so you rejected him.” Hans began counting the afterimage of Samson as it lunged high in the sky, “Three, four..six…seven, he stopped—”

However what Hans saw left him speechless, a gigantic sword of pale green, the normal version that Dietrich had given him in his first practice session. But the scale here was on another level. Hans knew and so did others, how formidable that sword was, but it was not the time to marvel at it, as the sword fell on the birds’s wings at an angle that severed both of them concurrently.

“And there goes our aerial support fuck!” Dijkstra cursed, asking in frustration, “What now?”

“Now’s our chance, that move had taken a lot of his aura, even with his speed of regeneration, it would take time,” Norwin responded, repressing his rage for Intelligence as he was angered by the condition of his avian beasts. All of them were cautious of the secret moves but its not what one could do again and again.

Rudolf also knew it was a second and final chance to get Samson, “Phew,” He let out a deep breath as he tightened his grip on the hilt of ThunderClap, aiming to activate the sword’s blessing that he hated to use. “Dijkstra,” he said as he tossed a small pebble towards Samson, high in the sky and the Sad Death, together with Rudolf, quickly swapped both of them with the flying pebble towards Samson.

“Oh, so that’s how his power works,” Hans commented, realising that it wasn’t the space element in play, but the swapping between Dijkstra and the ground (rocks). He regained the control he had lost. He had to be his best because his grandpa was fighting closely this time.

“Gravity Well,” he shouted as the purple glow in his sword became darker. With an uncontrollable force both Rudolf and his near target, Samson, crashed down like someone had pulled them down hard.

“Cling! Clang!” Swords clashed. Samson, even with the restriction of VoidZone and not much aura, did not fall short of competing with Rudolf’s relentless strikes, but soon he started to show gaps and faults, and Rudolf as veteran as he was, didn’t miss any, and severed his physical hand. Suppressing his sentiments for the person this death knight was before, he called others to join as they were waiting.

All started pushing him towards the Elven queen in baby steps. He was moving as they all wanted, Hans had him restricted yet, Samson showed what he was in the past as he bellowed using another aura-generated hand.

Imperial Sword Art - Taurus

He disappeared, but Hans was prepared, yet his senses and eyes told him which he couldn’t fathom. Samson’s existence was all over the place. Like he was a mist of some sort. The sudden disappearance took everyone by surprise because even Rudolf had never faced this version of his student before.

In the past all Samson used was the VoidZone and took care of everything, so no one knew his sword moves or the exclusive power the Imperial sword arts bestowed on their descendants.

The attack began, as the slashes kept coming from nowhere, just like Hans’s, their senses were also telling them the same. Some attacks were blocked but the thin sword manifested by Samson gave them several sharp wounds. And ended up giving a grave injury to Dijkstra on the side lung, a clean stab, barely dodging the heart of the fastest knight in the group. It was like the Death king was mocking all of them.

“Found ya!” Hans shouted his eyes on the verge of bleeding. “Take this.” He added as he gripped Samson in one location, rooting his blurry image.

“You…” the blurry image finally put his focus on Hans, giving him the chill of his lifetime as it added, “You are annoying, psst…” Samson moved, ignoring everyone as he moved with a transcended speed towards Hans.

“No…” Some shouted yet only Arat managed to offer himself, saving his last prince from his incoming king of the past. However, Hans pushed him to the side, shouting, “Move it, old man. Don’t hog my fame.”

Imperial sword art -

As you know, spells are how the mages manipulate the pure mana they store in their heart and their counterpart, the knight use aura, a second from of mana to manifest skills, but unlike spells, to transform aura to skills they need a medium like swords whereas spells can be conjured anywhere depending on mage’s control ability.

There were several hidden powers in this world like bloodline of humans and sprit contracts of elves.

Parvian imperial mainly possessed three of them.

Inheritance (only known users- Dietrich, Armin, Hans) Imperial bloodline (a power that keeps regenerating mana even beyond the capacity of users— can even kill them if it's not controlled. This is the reason why they are so low in numbers ) Imperial sword arts/ Parvian swordsmanship - the stances are known to all and practised by many. It is an overwhelming sword technique but it truly shines on the Parvian imperials as they can go further with the secret moves based on the Earth constellation(not present in Genas) - created by Armin when he encountered Osiris and passed down only to the rightful king.  One of the prerequisites for the secret moves was to mould aura into any weapon of their desire, another secret tied to the Parvians. This knowledge was what Hans tapped into as he fought Chris but since he couldn’t generate weapons from aura, he created by moulding his Sharpdeath Bamboos. Dietrich also showed it to Hans when he moulded a sword for him to practice with him.
