Evandel disobediently ignores Yeonha’s instructions for her to stay hidden.

“Don’t touch her!” She comes out of her hiding place with enormous magic power at her beckon. “YAA~H!” She shouts spiritedly with anger, and rising from her fingertips is a sizable summon— a giant snake resembling a python, but with scales like a dragon.

Yi Byul looks at the child with interest, but easily destroys the summoned spirit by turning her shadows into spikes that ascend upwards. It impales the summoned spirit and kills it in a matter of seconds.

“Do not touch her!” Yeonha screams at Yi Byul, but the latter ignores her.

Both mother and child say the same words and the same results occur— futility.

Yi Byul picks up the child by her neck without an ounce of mercy in her eyes. She looks at the eyes of the trembling child with prejudice. This child after all is not a child— Yi Byul easily learns that even without specifically scrutinizing the child.

“Please… Don’t touch her…” Yeonha begs for mercy for the child. Her tone is soft, and imploring.

Yeonha desperately calls to Yi Byul. “It is me you want, right? Don’t touch her! Don't you dare! If you want me, then I will follow you immediately! Please don’t bring harm to the child!”

Yi Byul simply directs an apathetic look at Yeonha. “It is not you that I want. It is this child.” And with that, Yi Byul pierces the chest of the little child and coldly lets go of the frail body. Evandel drops to the ground with only a cold glimmer in her eyes.

Yeonha’s voice vanishes with the fear surging from her heart. In its place is anger full of hate. “WHY!?”

“To correct the story.” Yi Byul raises her right fist and covers it with her shadow. “Now, go to sleep.” She punctures Yeonha’s chest where her heart should be with a single punch. Blood seeps on the floor below, yet Yeonha remains awake.

When Yi Byul attempts to remove her fist, she finds out that she cannot as Yeonha’s flesh physically constricts her arms via regeneration which takes a lot of concentration in micromanaging magic power control.

Yeonha forcefully draws her right fist, now covered with Aether, and punches with it. Yi Byul gets hit squarely on the jaw, and while she is able to react in time and cover it with shadow, Yeonha’s attack manages to get through and compromise her magic power defense.

The Aether now with no master has finally submitted to Yeonha’s full control and has become useable in combat. Perhaps because of the death of its master, the Aether is responding with anger to Yi Byul in an act of revenge.

Yeonha doesn’t let up and transforms Aether into a whip, and uses it to ensnare Yi Byul’s whole body. She kicks Yi Byul in her abdomen, sending the latter flying away. The whip becomes taut as Yeonha pulls it and smashes Yi Byul to the ground.

Yi Byul can hardly resist, but she is more experienced. Shadows clutches onto the floor and stops Yeonha from dragging her around and possibly being smashed to the walls several times.

Slithering shadows from under Yeonha spring up like vipers and midway transform into dangerous scythes. Yeonha’s chest is still healing at this point, and her squished heart is not any better.

Yeonha pulls her whip once more, but not in order to drag Yi Byul to her, but the other way around. She leaps into the air and drags her body towards Yi Byul. When entering close range, Yeonha transforms her Aether into a hammer and brings it down to Yi Byul.

Yi Byul responds by cloaking her fists with shadow and crossing her arms to receive the hammer strike. She disperses the impact to the ground via her delicate magic power control. While at it, she summons shadow tentacles around Yeonha to completely immobilize her.

But Yeonha is relentless. She transforms Aether into a chainsaw, a far more intricate item than any cold weapon, and she replicates it excellently, perhaps only possible because she has always been a smart gal.

The shadow tentacles get cut with ease.

Yi Byul frowns at the combat effectiveness of Yeonha. The latter is stronger than she imagined.

With that, Yi Byul gives her all. She summons a Void Sphere from her palm and drives it straight at Yeonha’s abdomen. She doesn’t want Yeonha to actually die and for the Devil’s Seed to be reborn somewhere else, thus she holds back.

The chainsaw in Yeonha’s hand gets shredded into pieces, leaving her vulnerable. The Aether with the feelings of Evandel imbued to them, transforms into a shield and tries to fight back the destructive Void Sphere. But it is unsuccessful.

Yi Byul’s Void Sphere connects to Yeonha’s abdomen and tears her in half. It is a bloody and gory sight. “Go to sleep.” This is the last thing Yeonha hears before she blacks out.

Yi Byul watches Yoo Yeonha fall into unconsciousness. She has finally completed her task. Now, she can go home, and report. When she is about to leave, an ambush comes out from her own shadow.

The supposed-to-be Death Knight stabs her in her abdomen. This annoys Yi Byul a great deal. “How dare you?” For some reason, the Death Knight that is supposed to have been minced has resurrected.

Yi Byul summons another Void Sphere and smashes it at the impertinent Death Knight. When she looks around, she sees the already dead Evandel pointing her finger at her. Even in death, the child shows her affection to her mother to the last.

To protect someone. To cherish them. To be their meaning.

Yi Byul knows these emotions too well.

She turns around and heads out of Yeonha’s containment area. She ushers Droon that it is time to leave now. It is fortunate that Mimyo, Droon’s summon, has not gone out of control. The little rabbit alien has the tendency to go berserk.

Speaking of berserkers, Cheok Jungyeon must be also on the verge of going berserk considering that Yi Byul gave him guarding duties. Jin Yohan at least has someone to play with. On her way back, she picks up Yohan. She glances at the unconscious Jonghak and pays the teen no mind.

“Hmmm… Your abdomen is bleeding.” Jin Yohan expresses his concern but is ignored.

When they are outside [Under Cube], they see Cheok Jungyeon having a staring contest with Kim Suho.

“Gyeong, let’s go. We are done here.” Jin Yohan addresses his best friend.

“Oh come on! I haven’t fought yet! Lady Boss sent me back when it was starting to feel good. The golems aren’t fun enemies, but it is still a fight, you know?”

“What did you do to my friends?” Suho has a dark look in his eyes.

“They aren’t dead yet. Don’t worry.” Jin Yohan yawns boringly. “Well, I didn’t kill Jonghak at least… what a loser though…”

Suho picks up the word 'yet', and he doesn't like it.

Suho swings his sword with anger. He just wants to destroy everything. He just wants to cut everything!

Yi Byul understands the threat immediately and covers her and her teammates with a cocoon of shadow, but it is useless… more futile than anyone can imagine.

It is Cheok Jungyeon who reacts the fastest among them when the shadow is cut off so easily. Jungyeon's alarms are ringing crazily, that if he doesn’t do anything, they will die. He uses his martial arts to send shockwave palm strikes to Yi Byul, Droon, and Jin Yohan. He tries to be as gentle as possible, but his strike would have crippled Droon nonetheless.

Cheok Jungyeon tenses his legs, and jumps high, trying to outmaneuver Suho’s sword slash, but the destructive cutting motion is too fast even for Jungyeon.

When he lands on the ground, he only has one leg. He stabilizes himself on his landing, with a manic grin on his face. “I really want to fight you now!” He suppresses a cackle.

Suho slumps on one knee, and barely doesn’t fall by using his sword as a crutch.

Jin Yohan stands up from his lying position. “That’s crazy. We should kill him, while he is still a fledgling.”

“You call that a fledgling?” Cheok Jungyeon criticizes Yohan. “But you make a point.” A rabid rabbit comes rushing at Cheok Jungyeon.

“Ah~! Fuck! Lady boss, help! This annoying thing!” He grabs Mimyo by its body, and carefully takes hold of it with his physical strength and qi. The last thing he wants is for the alien rabbit to go totally berserk.

Droon is coughing blood severely, and because of that, Mimyo is going crazy. Cheok Jungyeon throws the rabbit at Yi Byul.

Yi Byul receives Mimyo, and cages it in her shadow so as to stop it from using its signature movement skill of dissolving into shadow. “Let’s go.” She picks up Droon from under her armpit.

“How about the kid?” Jin Yohan flexes his spear, and straight away lunges at the kneeling Suho, without even waiting for Yi Byul’s words.

Kim Suho changes his atmosphere immediately, cuts space, and outflanks Jin Yohan by jumping to spaces from different vector points.

Jin Yohan is slightly surprised by the deception. It appears Kim Suho is only feigning weakness. With an impressive combination of alacrity and flexibility, Jin Yohan’s spear slithers and creates double-crescent green waves crashing at Suho from two points.

Suho cuts the green waves.

Cheok Jungyeon grabs Jin Yohan by the scruff of his neck. “Let’s go. I already have dibs on the kid, so don’t. Anyway, the lady boss said that we need to go.”

Kim Suho wants to continue attacking them, so he does, but his opponents are faster than him.

Yi Byul contacts someone through her smartwatch and out of nowhere, a blue portal is summoned which they use as a mode of transportation to disappear.
