In the dimly lit basement, a makeshift hideout concealed from prying eyes, Aileen sits in solitude. The air is heavy with the scent of dampness, and the only sound is the distant hum of machinery above.

Comfortably seated on an old, worn-out chair, Aileen's gaze fixates on the patterns of the cracked concrete floor. The decision to hide has already been made; it was a reflex born from necessity. Yet, as the seconds tick away in silence, the more frustrated she will become.

Just days ago, the cryptic words of Kim Suho, a junior at the workplace, still linger in Aileen's thoughts. His mysterious warning, delivered with urgency and a hint of fear, left her unsettled. "You're in danger, and the Hero Association is targeting you," he had said, but the details remained shrouded in ambiguity. Suho, for reasons unknown, chose not to elaborate, leaving Aileen to grapple with the weight of uncertainty.

Fueled by a growing sense of unease, Aileen decides to seek solace and guidance from Yun Seung-Ah, a figure in her life she regards as a little sister. Their bond goes beyond the confines of the workplace, a connection of trust and camaraderie that has weathered both professional challenges and personal tribulations.

As Aileen paces within the confines of her hidden sanctuary, she can't shake off the feeling that the walls are closing in. The very organization she dedicated her skills to—the Hero Association—now looms as a potential threat. With Suho's warning echoing in her mind, she realizes that deciphering the truth is paramount.

Aileen has trusted Yun Seung-Ah’s trust of Suho, and that is why Ailleen has decided to hide and lay low. The reason why Aileen is being careful is because there is a reason why the Association might be targeting her.

Aileen's fingers deftly close around a weathered folder, hidden within arm's reach. As she flips it open, the musty scent of old paper wafts up, revealing a document that unravels the clandestine ties between the Hero Association and a group of radical Djinns.

Proof, neatly compiled within these pages, thrusts Aileen into the heart of a conspiracy— it seems to be a project— one that the Hero Association and the Djinns wish to complete no matter what. Her brows furrow in concentration as she deciphers the jargon-laden descriptions within the documents.

There's a palpable tension in the air as she grapples with the gaps in her understanding. But she thinks… the documents are talking about the prospects… of Time Travel… To Aileen, it sounds very stupid, and possibly world-damning.

Aileen has left the TV on, a habitual background noise that brings a semblance of normalcy to the covertness she found herself in. The murmur of news anchors and the ambient hum of information fill the room, providing a bizarre counterpoint to the gravity of Aileen's discoveries.

Suddenly, the monotony of the TV's background noise is shattered by the urgent announcement of breaking news. Aileen's attention snaps to the screen, the folder momentarily forgotten.

Aileen's shock resonates through the basement as she fixates on the unfolding chaos on the television screen. Her widened eyes reflect a mixture of disbelief and indignation as she watches the news anchor stumble through the alarming announcement.

"What is the meaning of this!?" Aileen's voice trembles with a blend of shock and incredulity, her gaze glued to the screen, unwilling to accept the damning information being broadcasted.

The news anchor, visibly flustered, attempts to regain composure amid the breaking news. "E-excuse me," the anchor stammers, "it seems that an immediate notification has been requested by the Hero Association."

Aileen, her mind racing, can scarcely believe the words tumbling from the screen. She rises abruptly, a surge of disbelief and defiance mingling in her expression. "This can’t be!" Her voice rings with urgency, denial gripping her heart as the accusations grow more damning by the second.

The news anchor, now with a grave countenance, delivers the critical blow. "The Hero, Aileen, is colluding with a Djinn faction said to have evaded the capture of the Association." The anchor's voice resonates with a sense of finality, punctuated by the startling revelation of supposed evidence—the video footage that allegedly captures Aileen in the act of theft from the Association's archives.

As the footage rolls, showing a figure resembling Aileen carrying a stack of documents, her mind whirls in disbelief. Her features contort in a mixture of shock and disbelief, a visceral reaction to the surreal accusation. Yet, the video evidence, though unconfirmed, hangs like a heavy shroud of accusation over her shoulders.

The accusations, the slander—she can't help but feel a surge of indignation at the underhanded tactics employed against her.

"They are playing dirty!" Her voice quivers with anger, laced with a hint of helplessness in the face of the orchestrated smear campaign. The betrayal cuts deep, leaving her reeling with a cocktail of emotions.

Her smartwatch buzzes insistently, a familiar name flashing on the screen—the pyromancer friend from within the Association. Aileen's hand hovers over the answer button, torn between seeking an ally within the organization and her gut instinct warning her against trusting anyone associated with the Hero Association. In a decisive moment, she swipes the notification away, her trust shattered, even among acquaintances.

"Aagh! They are screwing with me!" Her frustration intensifies, fueled by the realization that her enemies have seized control, manipulating every facet of her life.

Desperate for a semblance of control, she frantically attempts to access her bank account, seeking to transfer funds to ensure her safety and that of her confidante, Seung-Ah. But the cruel reality strikes—her accounts are frozen, leaving her with a sinking feeling of being cornered, stripped of autonomy.

The news anchor's words further twist the knife of injustice. "A bounty of 200 billion won was—" Aileen's indignant interruption cuts through the air, her sense of self-worth clashing against the paltry sum placed on her head.

"Oh, come on! I am worth more than that!" Her voice echoes with a mix of frustration and disbelief.

Panic courses through Aileen's veins like a relentless current. Her eyes dart between the damning document in her hands and the betraying images on the TV screen. The weight of the situation presses upon her, and a sense of isolation grips her soul.

"What do I do?" Her voice, laced with desperation, escapes into the stifling air of the basement.

Glancing at the incriminating document and then back at the TV, she mutters, "There is no use, I am just one person."

As thoughts race through her mind, she contemplates seeking aid from Chae Joochul, an influential figure within the Association. However, a shadow of doubt clouds this potential lifeline. "But what if he's part of the corruption?" Aileen's mind wrestles with the dilemma of trusting a man known for his cunning and schemes.

"Damn, I am very tempted to run to the Hero Association and let loose!" The allure of confronting her accusers, head-on tugs at her, but she recognizes the suicidal nature of such an impulsive move. Aileen hesitates, caught between the desire for justice and the practicality of self-preservation.

"Should I just join the other side?" Aileen entertains the notion of embracing the role of a villain, perhaps even becoming a Djinn. However, the idea, born of frustration and desperation, is swiftly dismissed as an inward joke—a momentary escape from her sudden reality.

"Agh! I swear!" Her frustration erupts in a vehement oath, the weight of the world pressing down on her shoulders. "Should I just kill myself and end this? Annoying bastards!"

In the midst of her turmoil, Aileen's demeanor belies the gravity of her situation. Despite her child-like appearance, an adult's weight rests on her shoulders, and now, faced with an array of choices, she contemplates her next move.

"First, I must do something with these documents..." Aileen's voice, tinged with a sense of determination, cuts through the quiet of the basement. Her gaze fixates on the incriminating proof in her hands, a tangible manifestation of the conspiracies unraveling around her.

As she sifts through the pages, a key realization surfaces—the necessity of understanding the project that binds the Hero Association and the Djinns. The bold letters on the first page demand her attention: "Analysis of the Time Curve Phenomena, and its effect on History." Aileen's eyes widen as she absorbs the weight of the words. Time travel, a concept that transcends the boundaries of her understanding, now looms as a central element in the unfolding drama.

"I need someone smart, someone who can interpret this for me..." Her thoughts are verbalized... Aileen confronts the challenge of decoding the complexities of the document. The struggle reflects in her furrowed brow as she ponders who among her acquaintances possesses the intellectual prowess to unravel the mysteries within.

"But who?" Aileen's voice carries the weight of indecision, and a sense of vulnerability emerges from the cracks in her usually carefree demeanor. In this moment of crisis, she grapples not only with external threats but with the internal struggle to trust someone with the knowledge that could either save or damn her.

The choice of a confidant, a decision with far-reaching consequences, looms before her like a crossroads, and in the quiet of the room, she contemplates her next steps with a blend of determination and trepidation.
