The world of the 666 timelines is based on a novel by Jee Gab Song. I have come to the Zeroth Iteration without hesitation after I saw the opportunity in it. I have traced Jee Gab Song to Shin Jonghak who now wields Kim Hajin’s body.

I ponder on the meaning of this. Me and Shin Jonghak exits the café, Jonghak leading me to a circuit of alleys, finally, the two of us arrive by an empty abandoned park.

As I follow Shin Jonghak through the narrow alleys, I can't help but feel a sense of foreboding. The buildings loom over us like ancient sentinels, witnesses to the countless iterations that have unfolded.

Jonghak shoots me a confused look. "Why the sudden aggression? Though I don’t have access of magic power, I can still feel your killing intent… that’s too abrupt… Are you finally going down to serious business?"

I respond calmly, "I need answers, Jonghak. And I know you hold them."

We reach an empty, desolate park, where the echoes of forgotten laughter linger in the air. The wind rustles through the overgrown grass, a melancholic tune that sets the stage for our confrontation.

Jonghak smirks and leans against a rusted swing set. "Answers? You've come a long way for that."

I maintain a serious demeanor. "I've come because an opportunity opened up, Jonghak. I've traced the threads of this reality back to you, back here, within the Zeroth Iteration."

Jonghak's expression shifts, a subtle dance between amusement and wariness. The world around us seems to hold its breath, waiting for the clash that's about to unfold.

"So, what's the grand plan?" Jonghak taunts, "A duel to the death?"

I nod, muscles tensed and senses sharpened as I shift into a fighting stance. The world have taught me to trust my instincts, and right now, they scream that this confrontation is inevitable… no. Rather, I want this confrontation.

"If that's what it takes," I reply, determined. "I need to understand why you've taken over Kim Hajin's body."

Jonghak smirks again, a mocking glint in his eyes. "What makes you think I owe you any explanations? Moreover, I have been cooperative so far… Can you just leave me alone?"

The shadows of the abandoned park seem to close in as our battle begins, echoing the mysteries that entwine the world of the 666 timelines. The frown on Jonghak's face deepens, and the truth is I ‘maybe’ just want to beat him up.

"Why Kim Hajin's body?" I press Jonghak as the tension thickens around us. "Are you Jee Gab Song, the author of 'The Novel’s Extra'?"

Jonghak chuckles, a low and sly sound. "Guilty as charged. But why does it matter to you?"

"I need to understand. This world, the 666 timelines, it's all based on your creation. Why take over Kim Hajin?"

He tilts his head, a condescending smile playing on his lips.

I narrow my eyes. "Are you really the one? You're the one responsible for all the chaos, the suffering in the timelines? This madness… is it all you… Are you God?"

Jonghak's amusement fades, replaced by a frown. "No, I'm not the God you're looking for. I may have written the ‘Novel’ in this world, but I'm not the one pulling the strings. You should know better…"

"Then who is?" I demand, the wind picking up the intensity as our confrontation escalates.

Jonghak sighs. "There's a higher power, a force beyond my control. I'm just some guy trying to subsist, to eat. I wrote 'The Novel’s Extra' because I've lived through that life within its pages."

"But the dismemberment of the 666 timelines, the suffering of humanity..." I press on, my fists clenched.

"I did not create that world, and I'm not the one orchestrating its demise," Jonghak explains, his expression serious. "There's something darker at play, and even I am not immune to its influence. Hyon, you should know better… I have been thinking about it for a long time, but… Hmmm… I am not confident, but I think I know."

I lower my guard slightly, still skeptical. "Why should I believe you?"

"Believe what you will," Jonghak retorts. "But our fight won't change the grand scheme of things. The threads of fate are already woven, and I'm just a player in this cosmic drama." Strangely, the way that Jonghak theatrically speaks with Kim Hajin’s face is strangely charming.

I enter a fighting stance, meanwhile, Jonghak remains nonchalant yet I feel with my Empathetic Imitation how taut his muscles are.

"I don't trust you," I admit, my gaze unwavering. "How old are you, mentally at least?"

“Of course, you don’t. It is in your nature not to trust anyone.”

Jonghak smirks, seemingly unaffected by my suspicion. "Mentally? Well, I've been traveling through different timelines with compressed time. I should be around my hundreds, give or take."

I raise an eyebrow, calculating the implications. "So, you're older than your physical appearance suggests. I can relate. I'm in the same boat."

Jonghak's nonchalant demeanor doesn't waver. "Age is just a number, especially when you've witnessed the ebb and flow of countless iterations."

With a sudden burst of determination, I lunge forward, closing the distance between us. Jonghak, quick on his feet, lowers his knees, anticipating my attack. The wind carries the tension as our confrontation unfolds, and I feel like venting.

“You fucker!” I really want to beat up Jonghak this time! Like for real!

I close in on Jonghak, narrowing the distance between us. Without a word, I make a light jab at his throat. Jonghak recoils, rubbing his neck, confusion etched on his face.

"What's your problem?" he asks, eyebrows furrowed.

"I just want to beat you up," I reply, determination in my voice. Jonghak leans to the side, evading my next punch. I don't give up; instead, I snap my elbow, connecting with his ear. He winces, but his retaliation is swift.

Jonghak grabs my outstretched arm, hugging it tightly with his right arm. With a quick maneuver, he throws me down. I hit the ground flatly, the impact jarring through my body. Jonghak looks pissed as he raises his foot, aiming to stomp on my face.

I anticipate his move, rolling to the side rather disgracefully. The sole of his shoe brushes against the ground instead of my face. Quick to recover, I push myself up from the ground, ready to continue the brawl. Despite the stomp, I reckon Jonghak must still be hurting from that shot to his ear. The fight is far from over.

"Even now, you're a serious piece of work, Jonghak," I remark, catching my breath but not letting my guard down.

Jonghak raises an eyebrow, his face a mix of irritation and curiosity. "What are you up to?" he asks, his tone laced with suspicion.

Returning to a fighting stance, I can't help but vent my frustration. "You're a piece of shit for creating such a paradox," I declare, my anger boiling over. "You're Jee Gab Song, the author of 'The Novel’s Extra,' the world the 666 timelines are based on? You have to be kidding me. You're just a character within a novel? You just created the biggest fucking paradox to ever exist in the world!"

Jonghak smirks, seemingly unfazed by my outburst. "It's more complicated than that," he replies cryptically, readying himself for the next round in our confrontation.

But seriously!

Fuming with anger, I glare at Jonghak, the implications of his presence in the 666 timelines racing through my mind. It can only mean one of two things—either he's the God responsible for the suffering the future must endure, or Shin Jonghak has truly transmigrated into the body of Kim Hajin in this timeline. But why?

"Let's vent, Jonghak. You better dance with me," I snarl, frustration evident in every word. With determination, I rush at him, launching a sweeping leg kick. Jonghak responds with a light step back, effortlessly avoiding my attack. However, he surprises me by stepping on my leg with precision, disrupting my flow. I don't let him have it up.

Ignoring the pain, I kick with my other leg, catching Jonghak off guard and sending him stumbling backward. Seizing the opportunity, I push off the ground and rise into the air. Landing on my two feet, I stand up quickly and charge at Jonghak once again, relentless in my pursuit.

I strike with my fist at his jaw, but Jonghak simply weaves left and counters with a punch of his own. We're in the midst of an intense confrontation, and the air crackles with tension. I can feel the adrenaline coursing through my veins as I engage in this fierce battle.

I headbutt his fist, and follow with a kick to his groin, but even that doesn’t deter Jonghak as he simply pushes me back with a palm. The dance of combat continues, each move a calculated risk. I can taste the metallic tang of blood in my mouth from the impact, but I press on, determined to gain the upper hand.

I shift my weight and return my outstretched foot to the ground, quickly transitioning to kicking Jonghak’s face at his jaw using my other leg. Jonghak leans backward, skillfully evading the attack, and my kick misses its mark. Without skipping a beat, I follow up with a roundhouse kick, aiming to catch him off guard.

In a split second, I activate my Phantom Touch ability, a skill honed through countless battles. The kick becomes nearly invisible, a phantom strike with the potential to confound even the most skilled opponents. The Miracle Stone in my pocket subtly gives me the magic power I need in this magic-deprived world, amplifying my abilities.

Finally, my kick connects with Jonghak's jaw, and the impact sends him sprawling to the ground. The Miracle Stone's magic courses through my veins, enhancing the force of the blow. Jonghak's resistance crumbles, and for a moment, the chaos of battle pauses as he hits the ground rather splendidly.

“Ugh… you tough bastard… just lie down, and let me savor this moment.”
