I feel dizzy. I am more banged up than I realize. “Hsss…” I grit my teeth, resisting the urge to puke. Dungeons are typically divided into two types— Stage and Field.

Stage Dungeons have multiple layers which are called ‘stages’ that have to be cleared in order. It requires moving forward and clearing the monsters on the way until the party reaches the final stage where the Boss Dungeon Monster rests. Meanwhile, Field Dungeons requires only a single ‘field’ like a survival mode where a party has to subjugate waves of monsters until the final boss appears.

It seems that the Mock Dungeon Trial is a Stage Dungeon. If I want to get out of here, then I will have to move forward. If only it is a Field Dungeon where I can just kick the monsters’ ass, and be done with it.

Then that will be great.

Slowly, the fatigue is catching up to me. I fall into unconsciousness shortly after.

Kim Hajin waits in ambush while behind the ceiling, he watches the Djinns enter the clubroom unaware of the wolf stalking up his prey. He doesn’t have any particular stealth skills but his unique constitution, ‘Magic Defunct Physique’ is enough to mask his presence.

As his body cannot exert magic power, he is as good as invisible to the sensory-type enemies unless he shows himself to them in the flesh.

Now, two options present themselves to him. Does he run? Or does he fight?

For now, he chooses to wait.

Djinns who appear to be Cube Cadets start sleuthing around in a poor attempt to find him.

The Djinn who seems to be an instructor presses something in his ear and makes his report. Hajin listens closely while hacking the communication channels. It looks like the enemies have competent tech support to be able to allow communications while setting up a jammer.

“The target is not here, awaiting orders…”

“Is that so? Try to scour the area, he should be on the run. Tighten the perimeter and secure the target. The Lord wants him alive. It will be a boon for us to know how this mongrel learned of our activities.”

“Affirmative.”

Hajin frowns at what he finds out after tracking the source of the signal. It is in the Monitoring Chamber where the instructors and faculty should be overseeing today’s Mock Dungeon Trial. After being absent from today’s class, Hajin is planning to spend the rest of his time replicating his prototype Djinn Detection Goggles.

“Why is the signal coming from the Monitoring Chamber?”

It is not certain yet, but Hajin feels that something big is going on. The Devil Hunter’s Club no longer has the initiative. “Say, they are closing the perimeter huh? Then I can no longer leave silently…” Hajin decides on his next course of action.

Since learning Nayun’s regression, Hajin has become sort of the paranoid type to the point he is always bringing his laptop with him. Only through this laptop can he activate his Setting Intervention.

Now is the best time for him to spend a lot of his SP. His Stigma can act as a storage, and while his laptop for some reason cannot get inside, stuffing the Stigma Storage with weapons is no biggie.

Taking out a couple of grenades from his Stigma, he then enchants them with light-attribute effects through his Setting Intervention. The [Essential Armory] only provides the best, and his SP just makes them better.

Hajin bursts out from the ceiling. He uses his [Parkour] Art to boost his speed and make a breeze out of the obstacles in front of him. He passes by them as swiftly as the wind. When he is outside the clubroom, he tosses the light attribute grenades at the Djinns, and in one swift motion, he punches the electronic remote by the door’s side causing the door to malfunction and close in a frenzy.

[An incredible luck applies!]

[The Door is jammed and the Djinns cannot escape!]

“Now, I have to make a run out of it…”

Hajin eyes two new Djinns whose aura reeks of malice, as per his goggles provide. He fixes the goggles to his face properly lest they suddenly fall off. “I must escape the jammer’s range so that I can contact the others.”

MK Warehouse.

The very base of the Djinns hiding within Cube is in total chaos.

There is fire everywhere. Kim Suho gracefully cuts the fire, thus killing a part of them. Inside the hateful Djinn’s base, he is able to create a safe space for him and Nayun to move around.

Frantic low-level Djinns try to attack Suho, but he easily disposes of them. Suho will never be comfortable with murder. But Djinns are a different matter. There is no need for him to deliberate.

Though he is not beyond killing if it is aligned with his righteousness, the fact still remains that he did kill. It is a kind of conundrum for him. What if the person that needs to be killed is not a Djinn then? However, that person’s death will make the world a better place. Is it right to kill them?

He pushes down his negative thoughts as the big boss of the enemy Djinn’s base finally shows herself.

Sook Ye-na. She is a celebrity with incredible fame. Her beauty, charms, and charitable heart are what allowed her to maintain her rank within the top ten beauties around the world.

“Oh my, pretty boy…” She seductively calls Suho. If not for her inhuman features like the bat’s wings on her back, the single horn on her forehead, and the canine tooth protruding from her lips, then she will look perfectly normal.

Suho looks at Nayun who is slaughtering Djinns en-masse, and cutting up a bunch of Djinn Contracts with a single swing. She rushes at the low-level contracts that rest on the metal cabinets and some on the bookshelves.

Nayun then rushes to the giant vault that most of the Djinns are trying to protect.

“Your friend is very energetic…” Sook Ye-na snaps her fingers, and at her command, various rookie Heroes appear at her command.

The base is a storage depot for Djinn Contracts. A Djinn Contract requires a lot of illegal materials which will automatically render whatever product comes from it as illegal contraband that will have to face hundreds of lawsuits at once.

These 'Djinn Contracts' allow a normal human being to have a contract with a Devil.

People around the world don’t know how contracts are made, and so is Suho, but that doesn’t stop him from realizing that the Djinn Contracts are wrong. They are heinous, and evil, and need to be purged. The fact that it has ‘Djinn’ affixed to the word ‘Contract’ is enough indication of how this is not a good thing.

Suho raises his sword and is about to engage in a rather exhausting fight.

Suddenly, his earpiece buzzes with Hajin’s voice.

“Emergency! Something is going on in Cube! Please finish your mission ASAP! Please return to Cube after dealing with the Contracts. Let the Djinns be… I will send an anonymous tip to the association to take care of the rest in that base…”

Nayun from behind Suho screams at him. “I will take care of this! Go back!”

“Sure thing,” Suho brandishes his sword. “But I will have to kill this Djinn here first…”

While Suho engages in combat with Soo Ye-na, Nayun explodes her [Sea of Magic Power] and summons a gigantic blade. She strikes down at the giant vault where she assumes most of the high-level direct contracts from Devils are being protected.

There are two reasons why they are attacking this base, but in the end, they only have one goal— that is to destroy the Djinn Contracts that are being protected here. By doing so, they can stop the Djinns from Cube to do their schemes of turning cadets into Djinns.

On top of this, after destroying every Djinn Contract, they can then generously inform the Hero Associate of this base while not being concerned about the potential danger of the Association learning how to contract Devils specifically.

The only uncorrupted thing about the Hero Association is that they are not under any Devil's influence. Nayun can be confident about this as it is her grandfather’s words that assure her of this fact. There is no way they will have any Devil find an avenue towards the Hero Association.

Wet blood covers her palm from overexerting herself. It is a minor injury, and there is no need for concern over it. She has experienced worse. Nayun swings her gigantic sword of magic power once more, killing multiple Djinns at the same time.

“Heh~ I feel like it is the Great Devil War again…”

Rachel is bloodied, and her lower left abdomen is bleeding profusely. Her assailants are still after her. Only through her sheer will is she able to escape them. After severely injuring two, and killing one, she manages to grab another enemy’s items under their robe.

Though she is badly wounded, she is still far away from dying. “It looks like a potion…” She uncorks the potion bottle and smells its insides. She tries to recall her memory of medicinal herbs she learns from class and also from her stock knowledge.

“I see… This should possess enough medicinal effects to heal me on tiptop shape.” At that exact moment, she sees a familiar silhouette. He has his back on the walls, and his right leg is badly mangled.

“H-hyon Hyung-ssi…”
