Yoo Yoenha has a bright future ahead of her. She is the only daughter of Yoo Jinhyung, the Guild Master of the Rank 2 Guild Essence of the Strait. There are expectations of her, and she meets them beyond what others perceive as her limitations.

That is what at least she likes to tell herself erstwhile the truth is that she is an inferior. She is not charismatic as Chae Nayun, not as talented as Kim Suho, and not as perfect as Rachel, and even Shin Jonghak, the boy she likes, has his eyes on another girl.

It feels bitter.

That is why.

~“Come to me.”~

Yoenha opens her eyes only to see the familiar ceiling of a hospital ward. No. Taking a second glance at the surroundings, it must be Cube’s infirmary. She recalls the last moment before she falls asleep. She is about to tell Jonghak the Djinn Conspiracy that she is able to learn through her and Rachel’s combined efforts.

“Jonghak-ssi?” She calls him, but there is nothing.

Empty.

That is the state of the infirmary. Not even the nurse or medical personnel are in the infirmary. What day is it today? And why does she feel so alone?

Yoenha feels like the world is crushing her until there is only pulp. The pressure is real. Never has she been outsmarted that bad, not to mention by a Devil. The moment Yun Hyuk openly reveals his identity, Yoenha knows that something is up.

As Yun Hyuk leaves the café and is followed by his cronies who apparently occupy half the café, Yoenha immediately knows how much he has outsmarted her. “I should not be arrogant anymore…”

This is a problem that she cannot solve with her power. She is still wearing the same cadet uniform and is still in Cube, so not much time, not over a day, has passed since she loses her consciousness. If news of her fainting has spread, then her dad will be already here whining about how she is not taking care of her health well.

Yoenha grabs the small cellular phone under her breast pocket. “I… should call dad…”

Dad… It is so funny. She only calls him affectionately when she is in trouble and is in need of some unconditional love. That makes her a bitch, doesn’t she? “Father…” She murmurs.

The phone is untraceable and for emergencies only. It is the kind of phone that is impossible to hack unless someone has a Gift-Specific ability that can hack technology.

When she is about to contact her dad, she realizes something wrong immediately. The cellular signal is red, and that goes the same for her smartwatch.

“This is no time to panic…” She tells herself to act calmly as there is no use in panicking.

Yoenha removes herself from the bed and tries to take a single step, only to find herself light-headed as blood pours down from her nose. She can taste the rusty smell on her lips. “This…”

She cleans her nose with the tissue adjacent to the bed. The blood starts to disgust her despite it being her own. It annoys her and makes her irritable. “What is happening to me?”

Just right in time, a familiar person enters her sight.

“Miss! We must go! There seems to be an attack!” Jin Sechan, someone with a moderate build and Yoenha’s attendant goes to Cube with her. He is the same guy that Yoenha have deliver the Desert Eagle to Kim Hajin.

After wiping the blood from her nose, then addresses the issue at hand. “Attack? What attack?”

“I believe Year 1 is being directly attacked by Djinns, and we have to evacuate…” Jin Sechan always wears the same butler uniform he has in service of Yoenha. It is a kind of orderliness requirement that Yoenha imposes on her people.

Yoenha places her hand on Sechan’s shoulder. “I can hardly move, give me your shoulder for the meanwhile.” She asks her subordinate as she finds the act of walking excruciating.

As a germaphobe, Yoenha is very averse to touch, and even if there is cloth to stop the physical contact, she still finds the act of touching very hateful. “This is only for now…” She tries to cheer herself up.

Rachel escapes the Mock Dungeon by tracing her steps backward. She easily returns to the entrance where instructor Kim Soohyuk is waiting. “What is happening? What are you doing here?”

Kim Soohyuk is relaxing under the shade of a tree like a salted fish while snacking on some corn chips. “Are you giving up? That looks bad.” He asks Rachel, while his eyes remain on her bloody abdomen.

“Instructor… There is something wrong going on…” Rachel is pale, and having difficulty on breathing.

Kim Soohyuk wants to learn more about it, but two intermediate-grade visitors are suddenly in front of him. Two instructors who should not be here are exiting the Mock Dungeon, and they seem to not come with good intentions.

“Rachel, take this and get out of here…” After tossing a healing potion to Rachel, Kim Soohyuk coolly fixes the shades on his face. “This will get rough.” After downing the whole potion in a few gulps, Rachel comes running to the electronic doors.

“Be careful, instructor! They are Djinns!” Rachel shouts at Kim Soohyuk.

One of the Djinns rushes at Rachel fully transformed under the effect of Devilization only for Kim Soohyuk to impede its way. “I thought this is some assassination fiasco considering it is the princess and all, but Djinns? You must be kidding me!”

***

Rachel’s figure flashes by the hallway. She empowers her feet with magic power to increase her movement speed, and the longer she passes by the familiar rooms, the more she feels the gravity of the situation.

She fiddles with Hyon Hyung’s smartwatch from time to time. It has a GPS function connected to Yoenha. The last time Yoenha’s location is the infirmary. Before Rachel goes to their directly, she makes a quick visit to her dormitory to grab a more reliable weapon, the sword, Lionheart.

Glancing at the smartwatch, she sees that Yoenha remains in the infirmary. However, according to Hyon, the equipment he is using to monitor Yoenha has been compromised. It is most likely a jammer has been set up in the infirmary.

Rachel’s wounds are all but healed up. Not much blood is lost from her system, thus there are no impediments to her movement. She rushes to the infirmary with alacrity on her steps only to find out that Yoenha is no longer there.

“Hey, you…” Someone rudely calls her.

When she turns around, she sees Kim Hajin aiming his gun at her. Kim Hajin realizes his pointing the gun at the wrong person. “I am making a sweep from the bottom to the top. I haven’t seen Yoenha. Since you want to so badly help, then help. But let me remind you, you might die…”

It is not a light word to say… to die means a lot, and so are the consequences, especially for a princess like Rachel, but she doesn’t want to deliberate on this any further. “I want to help…” She sincerely tells him.

Hajin tosses an earpiece to her. “Put this in your ear, it has a tracking function. Help me cover more ground. You go that way, I will go that way…”

Before Rachel can bolt off and go her way, Hajin grabs her arm to give her a sincere word of warning. “Be safe.” And then Hajin turns around to go on his merry way to hunt Djinns.

“Yoenha… Wait for us!” She silently prays.

Jin Sechan has a deep secret.

“Where are we going?” His master asks him softly, her voice clearly weak from fatigue.

“We are near there, ma'am…” He casually remarks while he helps her walk one more step forward. “There should be a chopper waiting for us on the rooftop…” He adds.

Jin Sechan has been a very devoted and loyal man to her master. But. He loves her. Love in the romantic way as the opposite sex feels for the other. It is sick, and something he wishes for himself not to feel. Both love and feeling sick. After all, the act of loving her is torture enough. She is his master, and she has an eye for another man.

How can Shin Jonghak be so unappreciative? “He is a bastard, alright!” Every night, he swears to Jonghak in his sleep for how much he has hurt his master.

And now, his master is more hurt than ever.

“What is the meaning of this?” Yoenha asks Sechan about the ridiculousness in front of her.

There really is a chopper waiting on the rooftop, but the person beside it is someone Yoenha doesn’t want to meet. Yun Hyuk stands there causally while wearing a luxurious white suit.

“Give her the antidote!” Jin Sechan demands Yun Hyuk.

That time when Yoenha collapses when she is talking with Jonghak, the first person that Jonghak talks to is Jin Sechan. After learning about the poisoning, Sechan has gone mad about who might be the cause of it. After tracing Yoenha’s activities, he is able to trace the problem possibly to Hyon Hyung and Yun Hyuk!

Back in the café where Yoenha has set her trap, only Hyon Hyung and Yun Hyk could have been the cause of the poisoning as they are the only people to have direct contact with Yoenha excluding Rachel who in Sechan’s confidence cannot be the culprit.

The princess of England can hardly be a Djinn as England has strong anti-Djinn sentiments to the point of becoming the natural enemy of Djinns around the world.

After expressing his suspicions to Jonghak who should be taking care of Hyon Hyung, Sechan then sets up his own scheme to confront the other Djinn in disguise— Yun Hyuk!

“What do you mean? Poison? If she is, then why not just go to the doctor or something?” Yun Hyuk finds it difficult to resist laughing, but he is able to deliver his line nonetheless.

Jin Sechan has contacted his master’s doctor already, and the diagnosis is that there is no poison in her system. He grits his teeth in anger. “Don’t play any tricks! Or else I will send this to the internet, and you will go down splendidly, all of what you have built within human territory will crumble!” He raises his own smartwatch revealing a small clip of video content of Yun Hyuk transforming into a Djinn.
