Accept your destiny.

In the past, although Ethan wanted to accept it, he actually wanted to find Nyarlathotep first to exchange for his lover before accepting his destiny. But now, he really understood the meaning of acceptance.

In this world, he had nothing to ask for. He had no relatives, lovers, friends, homes, hopes, or obstacles. He was like a kite with a broken line and felt no nostalgia for the land under his feet.

He didn’t want to live, and he didn’t care to die. There was neither sadness nor happiness. He stood on the top of the sand dunes overlooking the world but saw nothing.

This was the most appropriate ending.

He closed his eyes and let out a long breath. Something in his mind that had been taut suddenly loosened, like a door that was tightly closed suddenly opened.

It was a double mahogany door adorned with classical carved flowers and brass handles, steady and clean.

It was the door to the priest’s castle, the door to his soul. There, his most vulnerable subconscious that he kept secret was still dormant and surging, like the undulating black sea in the night.

It was at this moment that the ritual to allow the descension of the gods was completed entirely.

All of a sudden, something from another world suddenly roared out, but the roar was submerged by the thunder, lightning, hail, and landslides from all over. The human language was unable to describe the vastness and majesty. It was like the whole universe was being concentrated into a single object of infinite density, and the universe was firmly and irresistibly crammed into Ethan’s consciousness. In a flash, the pain of being torn apart made him scream, but the cry was drowned by the rolling thunder.

The magnetic field was chaotic, the stratus was rolling, and thunder and electricity were intermingling. Far away in the southern Pacific Ocean, which he could not see, an ancient land that had remained sunken for hundreds of millions of years was slowly rising. The vast land was covered with seaweed and fossils from the ocean and was packed with twisted buildings that existed before human beings were formed. From the city of R'lyeh, which had served as a prison for countless years, came a terrifying roar full of ancient anger and cruelty that caused all human beings who heard it to go crazy. It was huge enough to easily overturn spaceships. As the octopus tentacles rose from the water, the rising waters caused continuous rainstorms. In the frenzied wind, there was a shuddering sound of giant wings flapping.

At the same time, over the vast desert on the other side of Earth, a terrifying twist formed in the space above, like torn silk. Space suddenly ripped apart from the middle, and the space from another universe kept rushing forward. A terrifying figure weaved through the crevice that was spiraling out of control. He was wrapped in the scorched yellow fog, and it was hard to see his face. The evil winds from the origin of the universe filled the whole world. The King in Yellow took a step towards the unarmed universe, bringing about endless madness. Behind him, countless invisible monsters wailed, spraying hot acid and viruses into the wind.

Earth was surrounded by the vortex of time and space, and countless monsters from different worlds stretched out their terrible claws through the cracks. In Ethan’s desert, thousands of black insects cheered and raised their heads to the black sky.

That day, the curtain was torn, and after that, there was a scene of emptiness and chaos that human beings could not understand. Those creatures were made of some kind of churning matter, erupting and spilling out endless antiquity and madness. The mass of black flesh spilled out from the crevices and went straight into Ethan’s head.

Ethan felt he was being shredded in the sky, and his brain was being crushed to pieces. At the same time, huge and terrifying memory fragments rushed into his mind like torrents breaching a dike and impacted his memory.

He saw the birth of the universe, the big bang, the beginning and end of everything. He saw a chaotic surge of viscous substances and saw the first particle containing life in the chaos, as it began to split. He saw the fresh world covered by the sea and saw the countless insects swimming in the sea, swinging their flagella, moving their suction cups, and swallowing each other. He saw the rise and fall of ancient cities and civilizations and people’s death in grotesque conditions in the face of disasters falling from the skies. He saw the demise of those strange and twisted cities amid bouts of volcanic eruptions, raging hurricanes, and earthquakes.

He also saw those huge, older than time, heterogeneous creatures. They were like the darkness that enveloped the universe and lived the endless space and time outside their universe, lazily swinging their greasy and fat bodies everywhere. They devoured everything, and all kinds of forces of Order merged into one within them.

At that moment, he seemed to dissipate. He became a part of mountains, rivers, stars, and black holes. His hands, feet, and body seemed to have disappeared, and as the wind dispersed the spring rain, he was everywhere.

But at the same time, he also felt that his consciousness was being torn and engulfed bit by bit. Without any form of resistance, he opened himself to the ultimate chaos and the core of the universe. He even enjoyed the pain of his soul being crushed by the mountain-like object.

Behind him, countless tentacles bloomed, and black lines wrapped all over his body. The black smoke shrouded his whole body, but to him, it was as if a holy light had enshrouded him.

All of a sudden, a dazzling blue light broke through time and space eddies and exploded a few kilometers away from Ethan. The blue flame swept around like fireworks, and all the black insects screamed and vaporized wherever it went. The blue wave of light swept away everything in its path, but it seemed to be blocked by an invisible force when it arrived by Ethan’s side.

Ethan’s body twitched as if out of control. Black blood gushed out from all seven orifices, and the light gradually fragmented in his pair of eyes that were once a warm green.

Not far away, the ugly and twisted giants stood between heaven and earth, and Nyarlathotep’s fiery red tentacles were twisting in the sky. Nyarlathotep growled, and no one knew if he was outraged or joyous.

“Azathoth has already descended, you are too late!”

In the center of the blue explosion, a spacetime gap was forming, from which a blue light so holy it seemed somber was revealed. The gap grew bigger and bigger, almost spanning across the sky. From the crevice, one could vaguely see some huge blurry figures.

They were similar in shape to those giant monsters that appeared around the globe, but had fuzzy outlines. It was impossible to tell whether they were gelatinous, liquid, or semi-gaseous. All of them were different in shape, and they were surrounded by some kind of visible yet invisible smoke, as if something was evaporating.

In that fierce mouth, there were thousands of such monsters, which seemed to be crowding around the crevice. The monsters that appeared on Earth, including Nyarlathotep, issued an angry roar and strode towards those translucent monsters. Those who heard their roars all shrank into corners, trembling and shivering like children.

However, Ethan didn’t feel that, and his consciousness was growing increasingly blurred.

But at this time, a nearly spherical object full of dense eyes appeared out of the blue spacetime crevice. Countless pupils shook as they gazed at the world around them, but soon fixed on Ethan.

Ethan recognized it. After Tanisiel’s mark was erased, he once saw it in his dream and was even nearly crushed to pieces by it.

As Nyarlathotep and two other tentacled monsters moved over to the translucent monster with eyes all over its body, several translucent bodies that looked like squirming coral also squeezed out of the crevice. The moment the two sides collided, an intense explosion that almost flattened the whole desert occurred, and it formed a huge pit that could not even be caused by a nuclear bomb. All the black humanoids vaporized in the explosion, becoming dust floating in Earth’s unstable atmosphere.

Amid the endless explosions, screams, and roars, Ethan suddenly saw that the monster with eyes all over its body had occupied his line of sight.

It……was it the God of Order known as Nodens?

The core of the universe, which was pressing into his body, seemed to become impatient and maniacal, pressing into his mind more urgently. When the pain reached its peak, he became numb. Ethan felt he was in a trance, as if he was half-asleep and half-awake.

He noticed that between the twitching and blinking eyes, there were two flat strands, like tentacles, which seemed to be wrapped in something. It pushed the two huge tentacles forward, and the milky white front ends slowly opened.

For a moment, Nyarlathotep let out a roar, and he seemed a little frightened.

His hellish roar of terror was heard clearly by a satellite placed by an Earth Union monitoring station a few light years away. At this time, almost everyone, including those high-ranking members of the State Council, was paralyzed, and some even wet their pants.

However, Ethan didn’t hear the roar at all. He just looked at the open, white front of the strand. On the front ends of those two strands, there was a human figure.

Tanisiel was placed there under the milky halo, naked, eyes closed, and as pure as a newborn baby. There were no scars on his body, but that body of his was so real and concrete that it didn’t look like an illusion.

Then, his beautiful gray eyes slowly opened.

At that moment, Ethan’s body trembled violently. He felt the invisible soul bond, which should have been broken, reappeared in his broken soul like it had suddenly been reborn. It was not a tremor like when he fell into the confusing dreamland created by Nyarlathotep previously, but the feeling of truly being bonded, a long lost feeling of being complete.

Ethan couldn’t move as he looked at the beautiful but lifeless man who was held in the palms of the God of Order.

Then, Tanisiel looked at him. The look in his eyes which was originally calm and empty quickly crumbled, as if his eyes were gradually becoming more vivid after being suddenly given life. His gray eyes widened, and he looked at Ethan as if he couldn’t believe it, tears streaming down the corners of his eyes. He stretched out his hand, but he wasn’t very good at walking at first. He struggled forward as if trying to catch Ethan.

“E……Ethan……” His speech was not smooth, as if he had not spoken for a long time.

The instant when Tanisiel appeared, Ethan’s soul, which had been squashed so much it almost dissipated, suddenly reignited. He heard a hiss of discontent from Azathoth, who was now a part of his body. He also reached forward, trying to get rid of the black object in his head.

Nodens sent Tanisiel forward. Then, Ethan finally got ahold of him.

He grasped onto Tanisiel’s hand, which was reaching out to him.
