For a moment, Ethan did not understand what Great Wise Man and the Abyssal he was talking about. His eyes widened slightly, fixed on the cover of the book. The corners of the book seemed to be distorted, as if they were talking to him silently.

While his instincts made him eager to touch the book, his reason told him that it was not a good thing.

He stared at the horned person and asked, “What book is this?”

Instead of refusing to answer the question, the horned person held the stale manuscript with a worshipping expression. “It has no name. It is a Bible about the truth of the universe handed down from ancient Earth, written in a long-lost language. Even now, we still can’t understand 80% of the meaning of the book. Any attempt to understand the contents of the book, or even view it, often leads the untrained and unprotected mind into eternal chaos and madness.”

“Eternity is coming to an end, and the sleeping king is about to awaken…….” Ethan murmured, suddenly remembering where he had seen the book.

In the nightmare he couldn’t get rid of, that man in black once held the book and chanted that cursed prophecy to him over and over again.

When the horned person heard his whisper, he also showed an unexpected expression and asked, “Have you heard of this book?”

Ethan suddenly began to laugh. The sound waves echoed as they collided with the corners of the room, making the atmosphere seem desolate and demonic. He raised his green eyes and looked deeply into the eyes of the horned person. Clearly, Ethan’s hands were tied, but a chilling aura emanated from the thin human body in front of the horned person, and the other healers behind him retreated timidly.

Ethan didn’t know why he was laughing. At this moment, it was him who was trapped, but he felt sorry for the healer in front of him.

It was a sort of pity he held as the healer was pushed into the abyss by his mysterious and powerful fate.

“If I were you, I probably would not show me this book.” Ethan stopped laughing and put it this way.

.

At this time, Tanisiel was striding through the crowd with the third eye on his forehead opened slightly. The horned people in front of him could not help but scatter of their own will. It was not until he had taken more than ten steps that they thought they should rush forward to stop him. However, once they stepped within ten steps of him, they would suddenly hesitate. Tanisiel didn’t even look at the people around him, but there seemed to be an invisible bubble around him. No one could enter within ten steps of his vicinity. It was in this manner that he stormed into the chief’s house.

At this time, the chief was discussing some matters with his son and several other elders of the tribe. Tanisiel drove straight in, and everyone stood up and took up arms.

But Tanisiel just stared at them coldly. “If you still hope that one day the Great Wise Man will come, let Ethan Eldridge go now.”

What he said stunned everyone present.

Although the Eve’s faith had something in common with the horned people, most of the Eves believed in the God of Order. They did not expect to hear such words from an Eve priest. Still, the chief’s son pointed a gun at him and asked, “What do you mean?”

“I mean, the bunch of you are fools! If you believe that the Great Wise Man is omnipotent, then why would he be unable to descend into our pathetic and boring universe after so long? Do you really think what he lacks is the blood of a thousand people from Earth?” Tanisiel lips slightly curled, and his polite act disappeared, leaving only a smile with a tinge of evilness and ridicule. “Even with a thousand lives, even if the lives of the whole planet were sacrificed, it doesn’t mean anything to the Great Wise Man!”

“What do you know! It’s in the Bible!” one elder retorted angrily, and the rest of the elders agreed with him. They were furious because of the priest’s arrogant remarks.

“Bible, Bible, the question is how much of it do you understand? You only understand a little, yet you’re trying to guess God’s will in vain. Are you not afraid of causing real disaster?” Tanisiel asked aloud.

The elders couldn’t speak for a moment because they truly couldn’t understand the mysterious ancient book. That was honestly their sore spot.

“Listen, the universe is still dominated by the God of Order, which you call the Abyssal. Even though their grasp on this place has begun to decline, they are still powerful enough to destroy any Great Wise Man who attempts to enter the universe. I’m afraid that the human that came with me is the only hope,” Tanisiel said and raised his scepter. A ray of light from the blue crystal in the scepter drowned everyone present in a dreamland of light and shadow.

He didn’t want anyone to see what he was about to show, but now, for the horned people to cooperate with him to release him and Ethan, he could only do this.

Just after he said that, a figure fell from the high rock wall. When he landed, he raised his laser gun and accurately burned the chain that trapped Ethan’s wrist. The man, also dressed in black, stood up slowly and looked at Ethan with a pair of violet eyes under slightly long hair.

Ethan pursed his lips and frowned.

“Why is it you.”

Roland did not reply since the female Beta had arrived at his side. She neatly burned the iron rings on Ethan’s feet and said, “There’s not much time remaining. We have to go now.”

Ethan, of course, did not want to go with the people from the Ophiuchus Alliance. Now, he didn’t believe in anyone but Tanisiel. However, before he could refuse, Roland chopped down on his carotid artery. The blood supply to his brain was cut off suddenly, and Ethan fell unconscious instantly. Roland picked up the man and disappeared into the darkness with his other two companions.

Tanisiel’s soul bond with Ethan suddenly trembled, and he immediately felt the change. His expression changed. “Shit! There’s a jailbreak!”

The illusory lights scattered all over the room suddenly disappeared, and the priest rushed out of the door before the horned people came back to their senses.

The three spies from the Ophiuchus Alliance had disappeared, while all the guards guarding the cave had either been knocked out by a narcotic needle or knocked unconscious. According to the guards that had awoken, the man who brought them down suddenly appeared as if they were invisible. They had not seen what the other party did before they lost consciousness.

It seemed to be some stealth technology developed secretly by the Ophiuchus Alliance.

However, what angered the whole tribe the most was not that they had abducted Ethanbut that they had also taken their sacred Bible.

Ethan was only unconscious for a short time. When he woke up, he found himself in a small aircraft flying low and quickly crossing the endless blue forest, deftly avoiding the crisscrossing mountains. He sat up quickly, and the noise caused Roland, who was sitting in the front row, to look back.

Ethan felt the pain in his temple and glared at Roland with the angriest expression he could make. “Where are you taking me?”

“To get you out of here,” the girl next to Roland answered, “Do you like being a prisoner to those barbarians? Maybe they will sacrifice you.”

Ethan ignored her and only stared at Roland. “What information do you want from me? Is it worth falling out with the horned people?”

Roland also quietly looked at him, and in the twilight, his blue eyes appeared dim. “……Can’t I just want to repay the damage I did to you previously?”

“Ha!” Ethan laughed sarcastically. “Of course you won’t tell me the truth so easily. However, I want to tell you in advance that if you want to know anything about Project Zero, I’m just an experimental subject, but I failed the blood test, so I don’t know anything.”

Roland and female Beta glanced at each other. Yet, Roland still said to him with a hesitant tone, “Have a good rest. We won’t hurt you.”

Ethan stopped talking, but his whole body was tense. He now understood Roland, so he knew that things weren’t so simple.

He imprinted everything he saw in his mind, hoping that Tanisiel could sense his position. It wasn’t long before he sensed a thought in his mind: I’ll come to you.

He felt a little relieved, but the next moment, a thought came to his mind that caused his heart to drop again.

According to Tanisiel, the Ophiuchus Alliance may have learned about the important role of the God of Order’s eggs in the production of antimatter. So, could he be bait?

Bait to exchange with Tanisiel for the God of Order’s eggs?

He tried to pass the idea on to Tanisiel, but there was no reply. Anxious, he looked at the back of Roland’s head in front of him and thought about his chances of knocking down two of Ophiuchus Alliance’s best spies to take control of the male Alpha who was flying the aircraft in front him?

……Okay, it seemed like this idea was not feasible.

The only way that was left for him was to take an opportunity to escape.

Their aircraft landed at the foot of a large snowy mountain about 300 kilometers away from the horned people’s secret stronghold. It was as if all the plants here were sculptured using ice and blood, reflecting the crystal-clear, dreamlike river of light in the dark. There were gossamer-like clouds hanging in the sky, and like an aurora, they slowly changed and morphed. They stopped the aircraft on a lake that had frozen over and said that they were waiting for an incoming spacecraft that would pick them up.

Ethan wrapped the horned people’s robe around himself tightly. He watched as Roland opened the cabin door for him, and without saying a word, set his foot onto the thick ice and snow of the lake. The exterior of their aircraft automatically changed color, blending into the surrounding snowy scene. Suddenly, it appeared as though the aircraft didn’t exist.

“Sean, what’s with this damned place that you chose? It’s freezing cold here!” the male Alpha complained loudly in the Earthling’s language with an accent unique to the Ophiuchus Alliance, sounding casual and funny.

Ethan walked silently between Roland and the female Beta, looking at the tall man’s back in front of him with a faint bitterness in his heart.

It was only then that Ethan knew that his real name was Sean.

However, Ethan still thought that Roland was a more suitable name for him……

Each of the three spies carried a large box from the aircraft and quickly found a suitable area to set up camp in the forest. When they opened the box, three mini tents quickly and automatically unfolded. Their surfaces could reflect the color of the surrounding environment, like the horned people’s hair. Suddenly, the tents seemed almost indistinguishable from the environment. As the three people were busy building a small fire with warm rocks, Ethan busied himself, committing the surrounding scenery to his memory, especially the towering snow mountain in front of him, so that Tanisiel could know his location. He tried again to warn Tanisiel to be careful and finally received a very soothing thought that pacified him.

Fortunately, Roland and the others were not aware of the soul-binding relationship between Tanisiel and Ethan. No matter where he was, Tanisiel was able to find him.

At this time, someone suddenly put on a thick coat on his shoulders. Ethan recognized the other party’s scent without turning around. He was so familiar with the scent that even after a year, it was as clear as yesterday.

“Don’t catch a cold.” Roland’s gentle voice sounded as intoxicating as wine.

However, Ethan already knew that the wine was poisonous.

He gave Roland a cold glance, but he didn’t refuse. He just walked past him and got into a tent.

He didn’t eat with the trio from Ophiuchus Alliance, but there was a small gap left open in the tent, and he could see the trio making jokes outside.

Ethan saw the girl named ‘Angela’ go over and give Roland a playful kiss on his cheek. He thought he would be very sad, but a silent numbness filled his heart.

Ethan used to hate this man so much and had imagined all the terrible things he would do when he saw him again. He would utter every cruel thing he could, just to hurt that man even the slightest. But now, he couldn’t even say a single sentence to him.

He realized that he had never known Roland. He did not know his full name. He didn’t know if he had a girlfriend or had gotten married. He didn’t know what his parents did or whether he had pets at home.

Ever since he had ended things with that man, he never dared to utter the word love. For example, until now, he had his soul bonded with Tanisiel, but they had never mentioned anything related to the word love.

He didn’t even dare to voice what kind of relationship he had with Tanisiel because he didn’t dare to forget what Tanisiel ordered him to remember: they were purely in a relationship to make full use of each other. Even though he trusted the priest wholeheartedly and even fell in love with him, he still prepared himself psychologically that he might be betrayed or Tanisiel might be unfaithful. If there came a day when he lost his importance to Tanisiel, maybe he would ultimately lose Tanisiel.

He felt that it was fine as long as he could make himself valuable to the priest. The so-called unconditional love was something even his father could not give him, so how could he ask others for it?

Especially……since he had become a monster now. He didn’t know how long he could live in this world……he just wanted to hold on a little longer.

He wrapped his clothes tightly around him and suddenly felt so lonely in this cold and dark world.

The curtains of the tent were lifted, and Roland burrowed in with a small bowl of chili in his hands. Ethan, who had not eaten proper food for a year, felt his mouth fill with saliva. However, he didn’t wish to lose face in front of Roland, so he maintained his cold countenance and only secretly swallowed his saliva.

“Have some. You look a little too thin.” Roland put the bowl in front of him.

Ethan was also not polite with him and took the bowl and sniffed it. After confirming that it didn’t smell like anything strange, he grabbed the spoon and stuffed the chili into his mouth. He ate silently, and Roland looked at him silently, with a familiar, charming smile at the corner of his mouth.

“I should have taken you away,” Roland said suddenly.

Ethan, who was holding the spoon in his hand, froze. Then, he continued to eat as if he didn’t hear anything.

“I’m sorry.”

Ethan sighed and put the bowl down. “You can’t let me have a meal in peace, can you?”

“Over this past year, I thought of you sometimes.” Roland looked down at his hand. “It was my job to get close to you, and I’ve cheated others using the same method, so I know that regret is meaningless. But at this time, I’ve found that I am still human, and I still feel guilty.”

“If you feel guilty, then let me go.”

“I can’t, but I can take you to Ophiuchus Alliance, where you’ll be free. I’ll take good care of you.”

Ethan rolled his eyes exaggeratedly and sneered, before continuing to eat the food in his bowl.

“You don’t want to go?”

“Because of the priest?”

“The priest’s name is Tanisiel, right? Do you trust him?”

“Do you know that his Temple of the Red Moon has secret ties to the intergalactic pirates? Moreover, it is rumored that they are conducting secret and dangerous human experiments in private. Some believers who volunteered to participate in the experiments later went crazy or disappeared for no reason, but the Temple of the Red Moon has great power, so this matter was suppressed. Are you sure you’re safe with him?”

“Ha!” Ethan suddenly began to speak. With a strange sneer, he looked at Roland and said, “Sure enough, Tanisiel is your goal, right?”

Roland did not deny it, and he asked Ethan directly, “Originally it wasn’t, but now it is. Why does he value you so much? As far as I know, before you entered the Forbidden City, you didn’t know him at all. He and you only met in an atonement mission, but he chased after you back and forth for less than a year. Don’t you think that’s weird?”

He didn’t say it, but Ethan understood the meaning behind his words in his heart: It could not be because he likes you, right.

Ethan coldly smiled with a tinge of helplessness. He questioned Roland instead, “That’s right, why is that so? I want to know, too.”
