At the village square, a young girl of about fourteen years old was tied to a stick, with a large number of straws placed below her.
“I can’t believe she is a witch.’’
“Me too. Despite her beautiful appearance, she was so respectful.”
“Sigh! What a pity. I wanted her to marry my son.”
The voices of several villagers resounded in the background.
Several hundred villagers surrounded Dora while the people at the forefront were holding torches.
However, despite the words of pity or insults directed at her, Dora had her entire attention fixed on a woman at her side.
“I swear I had never known she was a witch.” Dora’s mother pleaded.
“I had always told you all that this girl is strange, yet none of you listened.” An old man accused Dora’s mother before he continued, “How do we know that she hasn’t converted you?”
“I just found out today!” Dora’s mother screamed before she burst into tears. She appeared quite pitiful.
“Can you prove it?” The old man snickered.
Dora’s mother was stumped, but with her life on the line, a glint of viciousness flashed within her eyes.
Turning toward a man holding a torch, she grabbed it off his hand, and without any hesitation threw it at the straws strewn below Dora.
*whoosh* A part of the straws were set aflame.
“Kill her!” She screamed, “She is no daughter of mine.”
“If I had known she was a witch, I wouldn’t have taken her in.
“No, I would have killed her instead.”
With her eyes flashing with hatred, she looked into Dora’s eyes.
The little hope that all this was a dream finally broke, as a muffled cry escaped Dora’s pink lips.
With her vision clouded in tears, she looked at the disheveled figure of her supposed ‘mother’ before her.
“Mother? I a no mother of yours, you witch!” Turning toward the other villagers, she screamed at the top of her lungs, “What are you waiting for? Kill her!”
“Kill her!” The other villagers followed.
The villagers at the forefront holding torches finally threw them at the straws.
The straws that were being set aflame by the previous spreading fire, were all now in flames.
As the straws caught on fire, the pitiful Dora burst into tears, her mind clouded in despair.
The scene of her final moment with her biological mother’ flashed before her.
With a smile on her beautiful face, a young woman who appeared to be in her late twenties looked at a younger version of herself.
With the sides of her eyes filled with tears, she choked unwillingly….
“Live!”
Pushing her daughter away, the painful cries of a young girl drifted into her ears.
“Mother!”

As this scene flashed before her, Dora’s muffled cry finally turned into a loud and painful outburst.
“Mother! I am sorry!”
“Shut up! You witch!”
“Die!”
“Die!”
“Die!”
The joined voices of the villagers sounded in unison.
What they didn’t know was that at the very back, a dark-haired boy with a cold and indifferent expression was gazing at this scene, his feelings unknown.
He was pulled out of his training when he heard the ruckus at the village square.
After discerning the entire situation from the words of the villagers, Dean was not interested in the least and was about to return to producing the devil seeds when a message flashed before him.

‘God-tier?’
Dean was confused but still waited calmly for the system to continue.
Unfortunately, the system didn’t seem to want to explain as the messages continued.

“Oh!”
When he saw the new messages, even though he was somewhat displeased that the system didn’t explain further, the new mission surprised him.
Putting strength into his legs, Arlo wove in between the villagers, and not before long, he appeared before the burning straws.
“Huh? Who is that?”
Some of the villagers caught sight of Dean and were taken aback.
“What is he doi…” Before the villager could complete his words, he saw Dean wave his hand lightly. The wind generated dispelled the fire that was already burning to a great degree.
Dora looked down to see this small boy that seemed even younger than her.
Dean felt something within him click when he saw Dora’s eyes. He was very familiar with these eyes.
It was one clouded in despair and with no light of hope.
It was one filled with a broken will.
As the duo gazed at each other, one with cold eyes, and the other with a broken will, the surrounding villagers finally erupted.
“Hey! What the hell are you doing?”
“Are you trying to save her?”
Dora’s mother looked at Dean in fear. This boy didn t seem to be ordinary. If he really saved Dora, would he get back at her?
It must be known that while the villagers were also mages, they were pathetically weak, which was why they could only live in such a rural place.
Mustering her courage, she shouted aloud…
“Don’t tell me you are actually that witch’s brother? You are here to save her, aren’t you?”
Sure enough, most of the villager's expressions changed upon hearing these words.
Seeing that she had successfully riled them up, she quickly struck while it was still hot, “My fellow villagers, let us kill them both. We can’t leave a witch alive. She will come back to bite us.”
Some of the villagers were just about to react but Dean beat them to it.
Dora’s mother thought Dean would come for her; unfortunately for her, Dean didn’t give a damn about her existence.
As if chasing away a fly, Dean waved his hand, before a cloud of evil energy burst out from within him. In about thirty seconds, the whole village was engulfed in a cloud of evil energy.
How could these weak villagers resist evil energy corruption?
In less than a minute, every villager at the village square knelt before Dean before they shouted in unison…
“My Lord!”
Ignoring the kneeling villagers, Dean continued to look at Dora.
He had made sure that his evil energy didn’t touch Dora when he released it.
Opening his mouth for the first time, Dean finally spoke…
“Follow me! I promise you wont have to worry about using your powers and with me by your side, no harm would come to you.”
