CHAPTER 78: THE LAW OF BEATING HEART
Opening the door, Arthur entered to see a small crowd of children kneeling with their faces full of apprehension.
In front of these kneeling kids, were four other kids who seemed to be in a stare-off while another kid lay on the ground beside them.
Three of the kids had immense bodies for their ages, and their faces screamed of bullies.
The last of the four was someone that was quite eye-catching.
The boy was dark-skinned, and his long black hair was made into dreadlocks.
Dressed in a blue robe, the boy was quite handsome. In addition, judging from his bearing, it was very clear that the boy was not from a humble background.
“Why did you hurt my servant?”
Looking at the person lying on the ground beside them.
One of the trio stepped forward as he tried as much as he could to look intimidating, “We beat her up, so what will you do?”
“Oh!” The boy didn’t get upset and instead looked at them with a playful smile, “Are you not afraid of me?”
Before the previous boy could reply, another one stepped forward and beat him to it, “And why should we be afraid of you?”
While he said that, the expression on his face didn’t look confident.
Initially, they were happy to have made a big catch among the little kids they had bullied to follow them.
However, after telling their big catch to cough out all she had, she tried to resist them, so they ended up beating her a bit.
None of the other kids dared to save her, as the majority of them pissed their pants in fear.
It was at this time that the dark-skinned boy before them entered.
When he started questioning them, the trio had wanted to teach this foolish brat a lesson.
However, after drawing close to him, the boys felt their hearts gripped with fear.
Ever since then, they have just been posturing in an attempt to scare him. But it was clear it wasn’t effective.
When Arthur saw the situation, he turned around toward Rita and Mia who had entered her embrace at some point with a scared expression on her face.
“Can you hold these bags for a while?”
Rita looked at Arthur closely and wondered what he was trying to do in bringing them there.
After a moment of silence, Rita replied, “Sure,” before she used her thumb to touch a ring on her forefinger.
Immediately, all the bags in Arthur’s hands disappeared.
Arthur’s eyes widened before he shouted, “Fuck!”
Looking at Rita’s eyes that were flashing with a rare light of cunningness, how could Arthur not realize that he had been deceived and used as labor?
“Hehe!” Mia chuckled, while the expression of fear on her childish face lessened greatly.
Arthur sucked in a breath of air deeply as he forcefully resisted the urge to spank this foolish girl.
Ever since he saw Rita’s face, Arthur couldn’t deny that he was intoxicated with her beauty. Ever since then, he had been suppressing his weird antics and had been wanting to appear more pleasing to the eyes.
Besides, Arthur didn’t doubt that Rita wouldn’t grow to be an incredible woman with a busty chest. Her mother was all the assurance he needed.
Grumbling to himself, Arthur turned around and walked toward the small crowd.
The group had already been alerted to Arthur, Rita, and Mia’s presence.
Before Arthur reached them, the eyes of the three bullies lit up when they recognized him.
Running to him, they all quickly bent down, before one of them said, “Boss, you came at the right time.”
Another continued, “That is right. One of the brats is proving difficult to handle.”
Rita’s gaze turned strange upon seeing this.
She thought Arthur wanted to play the hero, but who would have thought that he was the grand villain?
Suddenly, Rita started feeling unsure.
Is this the person she is going to marry in the future?
She was mesmerized by Arthur’s boldness courage, and most importantly his immense strength but now she wasn’t so sure.
While Rita’s emotions were in conflict, Mia had her mouth open wide.
‘Big bro-brother is truly evil?’
Arthur harrumphed loudly as he looked at the trio with a displeased expression.
He had initially planned on staging a play with their help to look grand and imposing before the girls. But who would have thought that these guys would turn out useless?
Walking past them, he stopped before the dark-skinned boy.
Seeing the curious expression on his face as he closely examined him, Arthur questioned in anger…
“Who the hell are you?”
Arthur hated this type of good-looking and prideful boy that have everything served on a silver platter.
Why wasn’t he the same?
He didn’t even who his parents are.
The heavens sure were unfair.
The dark-skinned boy shook his head calmly before replying, “You don’t need to know who I am. What you need to know is that those guys behind you hurt my servant.” As he said that, he pointed at the lying person beside them.
Arthur’s eyes narrowed, “And what if I say no?”
The dark-skinned boy laughed amusedly, drawing a glare from Arthur, “What makes you think you can stop…” Before he could finish his sentence he saw Arthur disappear and reappear before him.
Before he could react, Arthur sent a slap at his face.
*Pow!*
He was sent flying.
Falling down, the dark-skinned boy gazed at the roof of the warehouse dumbly as he couldn’t believe that he was actually hit.
He, a supreme genius from an ancient family was actually sent flying?
Arthur’s irritated voice drifted into his ears at this time, “Who the hell is this fucker that is trying to pose before me? Does he have a death wish or something?”
“Haha. Sure enough, the boss is the strongest!”
“I never doubted him once.”
“Who can stand up to him?”
The bullies didn’t miss this chance to rain flatters on Arthur, but after being shot down by a glare, they quickly kept their mouths shut.
Woken up by the praises, the dark-skinned boy came back to himself.
‘Space laws?’
‘No wonder, if he has space powers, then he is really worthy to fight me.’
He stood up and patted the dust off himself before looking at Arthur seriously.
Arthur was similarly surprised, as contrary to his expectations, the dark-skinned boy didn’t become angry after being slapped flying.
“Brother, what is your name?”
“Humph!” Putting on an arrogant expression Arthur replied, “You are not worthy.”
Shaking his head, the dark-skinned boy spoke with a sincere look, “Brother, you might be a genius but you are too arrogant. If I don’t bring you down a few levels today then I would have sinned.”
Arthur turned behind and looked at the three bullies before pointing at himself, “Is that fucker calling me brother? Don’t tell me I slapped him stupid?”
“Hahaha,” the trio burst into laughter.
Not caring about Arthur’s mockery, the dark-skinned boy walked toward Arthur, “My name is Wale. Remember my name when you wake up.”
Arthur looked at him confused.
The dark-skinned boy didn’t bother to explain as he immediately shouted, “Beating-heart domain.”
The trio's laughter was cut short before their faces flashed in terror.
They felt their entire mana drain from their bodies.
*Ba-dump* *Ba-dump* *Ba-dump*
Arthur’s eyes widened when he heard the sound of his heartbeat clearly almost as if it was beating beside his ears.
Feeling a part of his mana disappear from his body, he became more fascinated.
What he didn’t know was that two people had a more severe reaction than him.
The first was Rita as she looked at the dark-skinned boy with surprise coloring her face, ‘An esoteric law? How is this possible?’
The second was the dark-skinned boy himself, as he felt the mana he received from Arthur was even greater than all the kids in this warehouse combined.
What made him even more surprised was that Arthur’s face didn’t look pale which showed that he still had an ample amount of mana.
Looking behind him, his eyes met with Rita’s as he thought, ‘She must be a god-tier talent just like me. She might even be higher in level than me.’
Returning his gaze back to Arthur, ‘He must be one of those legendary…’
Just thinking of it made him shudder.
He couldn’t believe he met someone that wasn’t supposed to exist.
