The porridge was still simmering in the pot when Bai Luoluo drove away.

Bai Luoluo’s place was a bit far from Wang Weimin’s hotel, and it took over an hour by car to get there. Before going, he had called Wang Weimin, telling her that he had found a Feng Shui master who could help.

Wang Weimin, grateful over the phone, was repeatedly told by Bai Luoluo not to go out and that he would come to pick her up.

Upon reaching the hotel, Bai Luoluo went to Wang Weimin’s room to escort her out. When Wang Weimin saw Bai Luoluo, she seemed a bit dazed. She forced a smile and said, “Ah… thank you.”

Bai Luoluo replied, “You’re welcome.”

They got into the car together, and Wang Weimin, sitting in the passenger seat, soon fell asleep. Looking at her exhausted appearance and dark circles, it was evident that she was extremely fatigued. Even if she managed to sleep, the quality of her sleep seemed poor, as her brows were furrowed.

Seeing this, Bai Luoluo raised the car window for her and turned off the music.

After escorting Wang Weimin, Bai Luoluo drove back for another hour.

When Bai Luoluo led Wang Weimin into the house, Wu Zusì and Lin Zhuòmián were enjoying thick and fragrant porridge. They didn’t even lift their heads upon hearing Bai Luoluo’s footsteps. Bai Luoluo clearly saw Wu Zusì quickly take a big gulp, causing Bai Luoluo to think, “Can’t you have some manners? No one is competing with you.”

Fortunately, Wang Weimin looked unwell and showed no interest in the food. Bai Luoluo politely asked if she wanted to eat, but she shook her head, declining with, “No need, thank you. I can’t eat anything right now.”

Wu Zusì, upon hearing this, immediately sighed with relief and put down his porridge bowl, contentedly picking up a mouthful of pickles.

Seeing his behavior, Bai Luoluo couldn’t help but feel a headache. He turned to Wang Weimin and said, “Mr. Lin is still having his meal. Let’s wait outside and talk in detail after they finish.”

Wang Weimin, having some impression of Lin Zhuòmián, nodded in agreement, following Bai Luoluo to the living room.

Twenty minutes later, Wu Zusì and Lin Zhuòmián, having finished their meal, appeared in the living room.

Wu Zusì said, “Zhou Zhizhi, go have your breakfast first, or it will get cold later.”

Although Bai Luoluo liked to eat, he didn’t have such a strong obsession with food. He replied, “No need. Let’s deal with the matter first.” Lin Zhuòmián then sat opposite Wang Weimin.

Wang Weimin, despite having only met Lin Zhuòmián once before, had a very vivid impression of him. It wasn’t just because of Lin Zhuòmián’s outstanding appearance but also because he had an eye condition. Wang Weimin remembered her cousin Wang Yiyao commenting on him, saying that he had such a good temperament, but it’s a pity he couldn’t see. Wang Weimin didn’t respond at the time, thinking that he was doing well without vision; who knows, maybe even better than you. She hadn’t expected to meet Lin Zhuòmián for the second time so quickly.

Before experiencing these events, Wang Weimin was not a firm believer in fortune-telling or physiognomy. In her view, determining good or bad luck from a person’s face seemed like a scam. However, after going through so many strange occurrences, Wang Weimin began to doubt the things she once firmly believed.

Although Lin Zhuòmián had closed eyes, Wang Weimin felt as if she were being observed, creating an inexplicable tension. She nervously bit her lower lip until it lost its color.

Lin Zhuòmián lightly tapped the armrest of the chair and said, “Tell me in detail.”

So, Wang Weimin recounted her experiences earnestly. Lin Zhuòmián listened quietly, without asking any questions. When Wang Weimin finished, he remained silent for a moment before asking, “The person you saw in your dream, the one identical to you, did they have any peculiarities?”

Wang Weimin felt a bit confused. She said, “Peculiarities? There were none…”

Lin Zhuòmián shook his head and said, “Think carefully.”

Wang Weimin pondered, but still couldn’t find any peculiarities.

Seeing her struggle, Lin Zhuòmián spoke in a calm voice, “When you were sleeping, did you have any decorative accessories on your body?”

“Accessories?” Wang Weimin asked, “Does an eye mask count?”

“What kind of eye mask?” Lin Zhuòmián inquired.

Wang Weimin recalled and said, “It was a cartoon character…”

Lin Zhuòmián asked, “Can you differentiate between the left and right sides of that cartoon character?”

Wang Weimin said, “Yes…”

Lin Zhuòmián continued, “Recall, did the person you saw have an eye mask on their head? Was the character on the eye mask reversed?”

Wang Weimin’s expression froze for a moment, then she exclaimed, “Yes, it was reversed.” Her eye mask had a distinctive color, with the left side blue and the right side red. However, the person she saw, identical to herself, had the eye mask reversed—left red and right blue.

The image gave Wang Weimin goosebumps. She asked, “Master, Master, what’s going on? Is that person really a ghost trying to take my life?”

Lin Zhuòmián calmly replied, “There is no ghost trying to take your life, but there are quite a few people who want to kill you.”

Wang Weimin asked, “Master, what do you mean by this?”

Lin Zhuòmián replied, “There is a major problem in your home. If you continue living there, within a year, you will either die or go insane.” Even while stating such a severe consequence, his expression remained indifferent.

Wang Weimin exclaimed, “Either die or go insane? What does that have to do with my family?” She looked distressed, almost on the verge of tears, and her voice carried a heavy sob. She continued, “Master Lin, please help me. I haven’t done anything wrong. Save me, please!!!” Her emotions seemed close to breaking down, and if Bai Luoluo hadn’t intervened, she might have already kneeled before Lin Zhuòmián.

“I initially didn’t want to get involved in this matter,” Lin Zhuòmián said, “but they have targeted someone who shouldn’t be touched.”

With this statement, he made it clear that he intended to intervene.

Overjoyed, Wang Weimin cried tears of gratitude, repeatedly thanking, “Thank you, Master, thank you, Master!!!”

Lin Zhuòmián instructed, “Get ready; I need to go to your house.”

Wang Weimin nodded vigorously.

After Lin Zhuòmián finished speaking, he left, leaving behind Wang Weimin still silently shedding tears.

Wu Zusì patted Bai Luoluo’s shoulder and said, “Don’t forget your past, be careful in handling this.”

Bai Luoluo wore a helpless expression.

They both left, leaving Bai Luoluo to comfort Wang Weimin for half an hour. When Wang Weimin finally stopped crying, she gratefully said to Bai Luoluo, “Thank you, Zhou Zhizhi. If you hadn’t been with me, I really wouldn’t know what to do.”

Bai Luoluo replied, “Don’t thank me, thank the Master. If it weren’t for him, I wouldn’t be of any help to you.”

Wang Weimin nodded, expressing deep gratitude.

After the matter was settled, Wang Weimin booked a flight for the next day to return home. Coincidentally, Lin Zhuòmián had no pressing matters and agreed to this timing.

Originally from Northeast China, Wang Weimin’s family later moved to the coastal area for business and settled in the current city. Her family conditions were excellent, but because they were too good, her parents’ relationship was not great. Their marriage was purely a business union, and although they didn’t divorce, their family seemed practically non-existent.

Fortunately, Wang Weimin was the only daughter, and her grandparents doted on her, declaring her as the sole successor to the Wang family. This declaration made others in the family redirect their focus elsewhere.

Wang Weimin had lived a smooth-sailing life until suddenly encountering these unusual events.

Bai Luoluo asked Wang Weimin if she had consulted other Feng Shui masters. Wang Weimin sighed, saying her family didn’t believe in such things. Whenever she mentioned it, their first reaction was, “Is it because of too much stress? Do you need to see a doctor?” This frustrated Wang Weimin. It was because of this that when Bai Luoluo mentioned a doctor earlier, Wang Weimin had such a strong reaction.

Angrily, Wang Weimin said, “Do they think I haven’t seen a doctor? I did, okay? The doctor said I’m fine, just a bit neurasthenic. If I hadn’t been scared, how could I be neurasthenic!”

Bai Luoluo quickly tried to comfort her.

At night, Wang Weimin stayed in the guest room arranged by Lin Zhuòmián.

That day, Wang Weimin didn’t experience any disturbing dreams. She peacefully fell asleep as soon as she lay on the bed, and the high-quality sleep she hadn’t had in a long time made her more convinced that Lin Zhuòmián could solve her problems. The heavy burden on her heart seemed to have eased a lot.

The flight the next day was scheduled for 11 in the morning.

In the morning, Bai Luoluo made some sandwiches, thinking they could eat them at the airport. However, just as he finished grilling the bread, Wu Zusì grabbed two pieces and exclaimed, “Why are these so delicious?”

Bai Luoluo helplessly said, “I mixed beaten eggs into the bread and fried it. Will you still eat it later?”

“Of course,” Wu Zusì replied. “I’ll only have two pieces. Can you add more salad dressing for me?”

When they went to the airport together, Wang Weimin, sitting in the car and munching on a sandwich, sighed, “Zhizhi, you are so considerate. If someone could be your girlfriend, they would be very lucky.”

Bai Luoluo chuckled and said, “Really?”

Wang Weimin replied, “Of course, people who are good at cooking are popular now.”

Bai Luoluo commented, “Then I need to work hard.”

Surprisingly, Lin Zhuòmián, sitting in the front, joined in, “Weren’t you working hard before?”

Bai Luoluo almost mentioned that he had never had a girlfriend before but stopped himself in time. Instead, he said, “The direction of my efforts was wrong.”

Wang Weimin burst into laughter.

After a good night’s sleep and Lin Zhuòmián’s promise, Wang Weimin’s mental state noticeably improved.

While waiting for the plane, Lin Zhuòmián asked Wang Weimin to tell him about her family matters in detail. Wang Weimin hesitated, feeling embarrassed to reveal the family issues. However, since Lin Zhuòmián requested it, she gritted her teeth and explained each problem one by one.

It must be said that Wang Weimin was quite open-minded, as if Lin Zhuòmián and Bai Luoluo were scammers. If they were, she would have revealed almost everything about her family.

Wang Weimin spoke, and Lin Zhuòmián listened. She continued until the plane took off, explaining the complicated situation in her family.

Bai Luoluo, listening on the side, found it truly impressive. He thought that life was indeed more exciting than fiction. Even if these stories were placed in a novel, readers might criticize the author for being unrealistic.

After listening, Lin Zhuòmián didn’t make any comments about Wang Weimin’s family. He only asked one question, “Who do you think is most likely to harm you?”

After hearing this, Wang Weimin fell silent for a few seconds and said with difficulty, “I think… my father…”

Lin Zhuòmián nodded without saying anything more. Perhaps Wang Weimin’s story was too shocking, and everyone remained silent until they reached the city where Wang Weimin lived.

The city, near the equator, was still very hot even in late autumn. They arrived in the afternoon, and the clear sky and fresh air seemed to cleanse their souls.

Bai Luoluo, breathing in the sea breeze, said, “My biggest dream is to buy a house by the seaside…”

This time Lin Zhuòmián didn’t dampen Bai Luoluo’s spirits. Wu Zusì took over and said, “Haven’t you already bought several villas with the money you earned?”

Bai Luoluo almost choked and thought he should keep quiet.

However, Wu Zusì seemed to understand Bai Luoluo well. While Wang Weimin went to the restroom, he said to Bai Luoluo, “Stop lying to maintain an image in front of Wang Weimin. The Master hates liars the most. Don’t you know that?”

Bai Luoluo thought, damn, you really misunderstood me. He turned his head and realized that Lin Zhuòmián’s expression had indeed cooled considerably. It seemed that all the goodwill Bai Luoluo had built up in front of him had been reset because of these few sentences.

Bai Luoluo cried to the system, “System, I promise not to talk too much again!”

The system said, “My grandfather lived to be eighty because he didn’t talk too much.”

Bai Luoluo:“…” Does the system have a grandfather too?

As Wang Weimin sneaked out, no one came to pick her up. After the four of them got off the plane, they took a taxi back home.

Although Wang Weimin had many houses, she usually stayed in the main residence. Besides the servants, there were no other people in the house. Therefore, even if they needed to renovate the house, there was no worry about affecting others.

“I used to live with my grandparents,” Wang Weimin said. “But they recently went abroad for a vacation, so I’m the only one left. Just let me know how you want to proceed, and I can have people come and do it.”

Upon hearing her words, Bai Luoluo suddenly asked, “Aren’t you afraid that we might be scammers? Why do you trust us so much?”

Wang Weimin smiled faintly, “My cousin wouldn’t deal with scammers.”

It suddenly dawned on Bai Luoluo. It turned out that this girl had some wit. She had indeed seen Lin Zhuòmián and her cousin Wang Yurun doing business together, which was why she so easily believed Bai Luoluo.

Upon reaching the house, Wang Weimin directly led the three of them to the third floor.

On the third floor, Lin Zhuòmián first went to inspect Wang Weimin’s bedroom.

As soon as Bai Luoluo entered the room, he felt that something was wrong. He saw some faint black energy in the room. These dark energies were very strange, lighter in color compared to what Bai Luoluo had seen before, as if the ink had been diluted with water.

Lin Zhuòmián went in first.

Wang Weimin thought that the most magical thing about Lin Zhuòmián was that, despite being unable to see, his actions were no different from an ordinary person. Initially, she doubted if Lin Zhuòmián could see, but after observing, she found that Lin Zhuòmián hadn’t even had the slightest movement of his eyeballs.

Wang Weimin’s room was quite spacious, with a bathroom on the right and a study further inside. On the left was another study filled with electronic devices. In the center of the room was a large white bed with light blue curtains hanging on it.

Lin Zhuòmián walked through every room and finally stopped in front of the bed in the living room.

“Master Lin, have you found anything?” Wang Weimin asked, her voice trembling.

Lin Zhuòmián said, “Did you have nightmares when you were staying elsewhere?”

Wang Weimin nodded heavily, saying, “Yes, I stayed at my cousin’s house and still had nightmares. Later, she booked a hotel for me, but it was the same there.”

A trace of sarcasm appeared on Lin Zhuòmián’s face. He asked, “How do you feel about your cousin?”

Wang Weimin, upon hearing this, was stunned for a moment before understanding Lin Zhoumian’s meaning. She couldn’t believe it and said, “This is impossible, Master Lin. My cousin and I have been playing together since we were children. Why would she have any reason to harm me?”

Lin Zhoumian did not respond immediately. Instead, he reached out and knocked on the bedside, asking, “Did your cousin also choose this bed for you?”

Wang Weimin stood there, her mouth slightly agape, unable to speak.

Lin Zhoumian said, “She really likes you.” He emphasized the word “like,” making it clear he was speaking ironically.

Wang Weimin, with a troubled expression, said, “Is there something wrong with this bed? My sister gave it to me, and it was said to be custom-made by a professional. I’ve been sleeping on it for two years, and there haven’t been any issues before.”

Lin Zhoumian asked, “Have you never experienced strange dreams?”

Wang Weimin replied, “I have had dreams, but…”

Lin Zhoumian suddenly asked, “Have you started dating someone?”

Wang Weimin was puzzled by the unexpected question but obediently answered, “Yes, I am dating someone.”

Lin Zhoumian nodded and said, “I see.”

Wang Weimin remained perplexed, and while Bai Luoluo and Wu Zhusi shared a similar mood, Wu Zhusi seemed to understand.

Without further explanation, Lin Zhoumian lightly tapped on the bedside and said, “Get someone to dismantle it.”

Wang Weimin nodded vigorously.

Although it was nearing dawn, Wang Weimin couldn’t wait until the next day. She made several phone calls, and a group of people arrived promptly. They dismantled the bedside cabinet with a clattering sound.

Once opened, Wang Weimin leaned over to take a look, and her entire expression changed as if she had been drenched in cold water. Inside her bedside cabinet were countless shattered pieces of mirrors.

Wang Weimin’s face turned extremely unsightly, and she asked, “What does this mirror mean?”

Lin Zhoumian calmly explained, “The human body has three fires, with one on each shoulder and one on the top of the head. If any of these fires is extinguished, it will have an impact on a person. Though mirrors are difficult to distinguish between yin and yang, once they are broken, they become extremely yin. Placing such a thing at the bedside will suppress the yang flames on top of the head.”

Wang Weimin, with a forced smile, said, “But, if it’s just that…”

Lin Zhoumian stated, “If it’s only that, you might experience minor illnesses or misfortunes. However, this is just the tip of the iceberg.”

Wang Weimin was dumbfounded.

Lin Zhoumian continued, “Earlier, Zhou Zhizhi asked you to investigate if there was anyone with ill intentions around you. Did you find anyone?”

Wang Weimin quickly nodded and said, “Yes, I found a servant. She took money from someone else…”

Lin Zhoumian asked, “Is it really her?”

Wang Weimin wanted to affirm, but when the words reached her lips, she couldn’t say it—she didn’t want to deceive herself.

Lin Zhoumian explained, “There’s a Feng Shui technique called Mirror Enchantment. It involves placing broken mercury mirrors in specific Feng Shui locations in the house, with the bedside being one of them.”

Wang Weimin’s lips trembled, and she slowly collapsed to the ground.

Lin Zhoumian continued expressionlessly, “Vent, ridge beam, eaves, firewood bundle, bedside—five places are indispensable. Only someone familiar with you can perform this technique.”

Bai Luoluo and the others understood, but Bai Luoluo was still puzzled about one thing, “Firewood bundle?”

Lin Zhoumian nodded, “Yes, a firewood bundle. In ancient times, they had firewood, but nowadays, you can hide it in the kitchen.”

Bai Luoluo said, “I see.”

Lin Zhoumian continued his explanation, “The Mirror Enchantment technique induces the entry of Yin energy into the body of the person within this Feng Shui pattern, creating hallucinations of oneself in the mirror. These hallucinations become increasingly severe, and ultimately, the person within this Feng Shui pattern either undergoes a drastic personality change as if replaced by the mirror’s image or succumbs to madness and death.”

Wang Weimin asked, “How long has this Feng Shui pattern been in place?”

Lin Zhoumian replied, “Have your parents ever given you any personal belongings?”

Wang Weimin’s expression became trance-like. After thinking for a while, she remembered that her parents had given her a consecrated jade Buddha statue. She nodded slowly and was about to take the Buddha out from her chest. However, she grasped the air, realizing that she had lost the Buddha. She said, “When I lost it… she seemed to be by my side.”

Seeing through a fog, how could one see things clearly? Details that were not considered at the beginning were now connected, forming the truth that Wang Weimin was unwilling to believe.

Ignoring Wang Weimin, Lin Zhoumian walked to the window. After a brief pause, he reached out and took down the wind chimes hanging by the window. Bai Luoluo had been following Lin Zhoumian, and after Lin Zhoumian took down the wind chimes, he handed them to Bai Luoluo.

Bai Luoluo took the wind chimes and examined them. He asked, “Are there mirrors inside?”

Lin Zhoumian nodded.

Bai Luoluo turned around, found the hammer used earlier to dismantle the bedside, and smashed the wooden box with the hanging bells. As expected, several broken pieces of a mirror fell out of the shattered box.

“Items given by parents have a protective effect,” Lin Zhoumian continued. “Combined with your pure thoughts, usually doing no harm and even doing a lot of good deeds, your body has positive energy protection. As a result, you haven’t been greatly affected by the Mirror Enchantment. If this enchantment were placed on someone with guilty conscience, I’m afraid they would have gone mad long ago.”

Wang Weimin didn’t want to speak anymore. She sat in the chair, seeming to have lost all her strength.

“And you have been influenced in recent months because your body has changed,” Lin Zhoumian affirmed. “You’re pregnant.”

Wang Weimin was stunned for a moment, showing an incredulous expression. She said, “I’m pregnant? How is that possible…”

Lin Zhoumian said, “If you don’t believe it, you can go to the hospital for a detailed examination.”

Wang Weimin said, “But, but…” She stammered for a long time, wanting to speak to refute Lin Zhoumian, but the words didn’t come out. In fact, she herself had some feelings about this, but it was still vague and not certain.

Lin Zhoumian said, “When pregnant, the body becomes very weak, making it susceptible to evil spirits. However, according to my speculation, even if you weren’t pregnant, your cousin had planned to use other means on you.”

Wang Weimin said, “…What?”

Lin Zhoumian held a piece of mirror in his hand, gently rubbing it with his fingers. He said, “The impostor has appeared, and the remaining events should be related to supernatural Feng Shui.”

Understanding dawned on Wang Weimin. She said, “So, will the child in my belly be affected?”

“Of course,” Lin Zhoumian said. “The Mirror Enchantment’s Yin energy is too strong. Your child’s constitution will be slightly weaker than others, but with proper care, it can be restored.”

Wang Weimin finally breathed a sigh of relief.

“If possible, could you ask your cousin to join us for a chat?” Having dealt with Wang Weimin’s situation, Lin Zhoumian was ready to address other matters. He said, “I have some things I want to ask her.”

Wang Weimin did not hesitate and called her cousin. Of course, she was clever enough not to mention Lin Zhoumian and the things she had already discovered. She simply said she was alone at home and afraid, asking if her cousin could come and accompany her.

This cousin had always been understanding in front of Wang Weimin. She had even accompanied Wang Weimin to search for her younger uncle, Wang Yurun. It’s no wonder that the impostors knew their target when they were searching for someone. Now, it seemed that the information known only to the two of them had leaked out through Wang Yiyao.

Wang Yiyao quickly rushed over. She still had that gentle and elegant appearance, with a faint fatigue on her face, as if she had forced herself to come and accompany Wang Weimin.

If it were on an ordinary day, seeing Wang Yiyao like this, Wang Weimin would feel distressed and guilty again. Unfortunately, today she sat on the sofa, expressionless, looking coldly at Wang Yiyao.

As soon as Wang Yiyao entered the room, she sensed that something was wrong. She saw Wang Weimin sitting on the sofa, along with three other people. She recognized two of them—one was the person who disrupted her plans, and the other seemed to have a significant background.

“Arrived?” Wang Weimin said coldly.

Wang Yiyao forced a smile and said, “Sister, didn’t you say you were scared? Why are there so many people in the room?”

Wang Weimin said, “What’s the big deal about more people? Who knows if there are malicious creatures under the skin.”

Wang Yiyao stopped smiling.

Wang Weimin didn’t want to say much to Wang Yiyao. She, who had considered her cousin as close as her parents from childhood, felt that reality had dealt her a severe blow, leaving her face stinging from a slap. She remained expressionless, coldly watching Wang Yiyao.

With a loud clatter, Wu Zusì threw all the glass shards in front of Wang Yiyao. Seeing the broken mirror pieces, Wang Yiyao’s face turned pale, and she remained speechless for a while.

“Explain yourself,” Wang Weimin demanded. “What is it that makes you hate me so much?”

Wang Yiyao looked at the mirror shards and slowly crouched down, as if witnessing her own face shattering into countless pieces. She said, “I… I envy you.”

Wang Weimin stayed silent.

“I envy that you have everything, that you don’t care about anything, that you can be so optimistic about everything,” Wang Yiyao continued.

“So, you wanted me dead?” Wang Weimin questioned.

Tears rolled down Wang Yiyao’s cheeks, and she said, “I just wanted you to be unhappy… I never thought about wanting you dead, never…”

“You heartless creature,” Wang Weimin expressed disgust. “I’ll consider I never knew you. Don’t ever appear in front of me again, or every time I see you, I’ll hit you.”

Wang Yiyao looked forlorn, asking, “Don’t you want me anymore?”

Wang Weimin replied, “Who would want a beast like you!”

Truly, the pitiable often have detestable aspects. Wang Yiyao’s family was also not happy, and her introverted personality made it worse. Wang Weimin had protected her since childhood, preventing others from bullying her, treating her as her closest family. However, it seemed that this was only Wang Weimin’s perception.

Upon hearing this, Wang Yiyao burst into tears, but compared to Wang Weimin’s loud crying, she silently shed tears.

Wang Weimin found Wang Yiyao disgusting and said, “I’m really fed up with you. You’re the one who did wrong, yet you make it seem like I’m the one at fault. Mister, I’ve said what I wanted to say. Go ahead and ask your questions.”

Lin Zhoumian nodded and asked, “Did you send someone to follow Wang Weimin?”

Wang Yiyao remained silent.

Lin Zhoumian sighed lightly as he said, “There are many ways to extract answers, but I don’t think you’d be willing to try any of them.”

Wang Yiyao still refused to answer, showing an unwillingness to cooperate.

Lin Zhoumian’s expression showed a hint of disdain. He stood up and walked over to Wang Yiyao.

Wang Yiyao reflexively recoiled, but Lin Zhoumian raised his hand and gently tapped her temple. She instantly froze, her expression becoming rigid and dull, like a wax figure.

“Do you know the person who wanted to kill Zhou Zhizhi?” Lin Zhoumian asked directly.

“I know,” Wang Yiyao replied.

“What else did he do?” Lin Zhoumian inquired.

“He also told me the arrangement method of the Feng Shui pattern,” Wang Yiyao said.

“Who is he?” Lin Zhoumian asked.

Wang Yiyao looked confused. Lin Zhoumian repeated the question, but she still couldn’t answer. It seemed she genuinely didn’t know who that person was. Through the conversation, Lin Zhoumian roughly understood Wang Yiyao’s situation. The person who wanted to kill Zhou Zhizhi wasn’t sent by Wang Yiyao; she didn’t have the courage for such actions. So, who was behind the plot to kill Zhou Zhizhi? Lin Zhoumian touched the chain on his wrist and contemplated. He felt that things might not be as simple as they seemed.

Wang Yiyao obediently answered all of Lin Zhoumian’s questions, explaining how she slowly set up the Feng Shui pattern, how she allowed someone to steal Wang Weimin’s jade Buddha, and how she collaborated with the impostor to deceive Wang Weimin, only to be exposed.

Wang Weimin became more disappointed as she listened. In disbelief, she said, “Why did she treat me like this when I was so good to her?”

Lin Zhoumian remarked, “You can ask her yourself.”

Since Wang Yiyao wouldn’t lie at this moment, Wang Weimin asked the questions that puzzled her and received an answer she didn’t want to know.

Wang Yiyao said, “I dislike her. She’s not as good to me as she used to be. She has changed and is no longer the Min Min I knew.”

Wang Weimin found this answer absurd. Grains of kindness could be repaid with mountains of resentment. This saying seemed to make sense.

After finishing their questions, Lin Zhoumian took out a short sandalwood stick from his pocket and placed it near Wang Yiyao’s nose for her to sniff. She slowly regained her senses.

Once Wang Yiyao regained consciousness, she seemed to realize that she had revealed everything. Her face turned extremely ugly, and she said, “What did you do to me?”

Lin Zhoumian couldn’t be bothered to look at her and said, “Miss Wang, since the matter has been resolved, we’ll take our leave.”

“It’s already late. Why don’t you stay here for the night?” Wang Weimin didn’t expect Lin Zhoumian to leave so soon.

“That’s fine.” After a brief consideration, Lin Zhoumian unexpectedly agreed. He said, “Thank you for your hospitality.”

So, Wang Weimin left Wang Yiyao on the side and arranged rooms for Lin Zhoumian and his companions. While going upstairs, Wu Zu Si and Bai Luo Luo walked behind. Wu Zu Si whispered to Bai Luo Luo, “Mr. Lin is staying to accommodate you.”

Bai Luo Luo asked, “Huh? Why do you say that?”

Wu Zu Si said, “People who have rested from reading the Feng Shui book will have good physical and mental strength. It won’t affect them even if they stay up for a few days.”

Bai Luo Luo questioned, “Are you like that too?”

Wu Zu Si responded, “Of course. So, Mr. Lin agreed to take a break, just to take care of your physical condition.” As he spoke, he became sad again and said, “Mr. Lin won’t really take you as his disciple, will he?”

Bai Luo Luo smiled and said, “I don’t have that ability.”

Wu Zu Si thought about it and felt it made sense. After all, Zhou Zhizhi was still an outsider. Although he had great talent, he was already in his twenties, and there was not enough time to learn Feng Shui. Thinking about it this way, Wu Zu Si became more at ease, and Zhou Zhizhi also looked more pleasing in his eyes.

The three of them went to their respective rooms at the staircase landing. Wang Weimin returned to the entrance, and Wang Yiyao had already left, leaving behind a floor full of broken mirrors.

Wang Weimin showed a trace of bewilderment, gently touched her belly, and suddenly felt stronger. In the past, if someone like Wang Yiyao betrayed her, she would have been devastated. But now, she knew there was someone more vulnerable waiting for her protection, and she had to be strong.

With this realization, Wang Weimin called a servant to sweep the broken mirrors into the trash can, just like the intense family affection she once had with Wang Yiyao.
