After finishing our breakfast, we retreat to our room for privacy to plan our day. I'm eager to learn more about this world as quickly as possible, so my first thought is to head to the library.

However, Sophia insists we visit the Adventurer's Guild first.

There are two main reasons for this recommendation.

Firstly, the Adventurer's Guild is one of the few organizations that can issue something known as an "Identity Badge". This functions similarly to Earth’s identification documents, and obtaining one is crucial for us to be able to engage in various activities within this world. The badges will display our names and our ranks. Speaking of ranks, there are five in total that match with five different colors - gray, green, blue, gold, and crimson, with gray being the lowest rank and crimson being the highest rank.

This leads into the second reason. In this world, our rank will determine our access and privileges. It specifically influences our ability to enter the Library, with only those of a high rank able to enter the upper floors. And not only the library, being on higher rank also can give us extra benefits, such as special discounts and deals when buying equipment, or the ability to join certain organizations or events. Thus, to access broader knowledge and resources, we need to rank up. In other words, power and status are key in this world.

“But… isn’t there a way to simply buy a higher rank?” I inquire, curious about potential shortcuts.

“Yea…” Sophia responds hesitantly. “But, I really wouldn't recommend it. It’s not worth the cost, and besides, we are currently out of funds.”

“Huh? What do you mean ‘out of funds’?” I question. After being a multi-billionaire on Earth for so long and hearing that phrase again, it feels weird.

She elaborates further on our financial situation. As a wanted person, her bank assets have been frozen. The two hundred gold coins she had on her during our trip to the black market were entirely spent on my medical care.

“Well, we are not entirely out of funds you know?”

I then reach into my bag. I had a total of twenty silver bullets. Curtis took five, and I shot one. That means I still have fourteen left.

I place the remaining bullets on the table.

“Whaaat!? You still have that many!?” Sophia exclaims, her eyes wide.

“Yes,” I respond, flashing her a grin. If I had known how valuable silver is in this world, I would have brought more. But based on the market price, these silver bullets should sustain us for a while. After that, I'll need to find a way to make money.

“So, let’s go to the black market and exchange ten of these for some gold. I need to keep the rest just in case we need them again.”

Sophia nods, agreeing with my plan.

And with that, we head out into the city, ready to tackle the day. The weather is perfect: the sun is shining, the sky is clear, and there’s a gentle breeze in the air. Our first stop is the black market to exchange our silver for other currencies, followed by a visit to the Adventurer's Guild. After that, I’m eager to explore Vera and see all that the capital city of Valeria has to offer.
