After that initial conversation with the King, a young and beautiful woman steps forward, introducing herself as the Grand Mage. Her name is Seraphina Aeloria. She is wearing an elegant rosy dress, her hair a cascade of curly golden drills. Her beauty rivals even the queen of Valeria. Yes, the woman who walked next to the king previously is the Queen, known by the name of Queen Althea.

“Heroes, you can put your hand on this,” Seraphina brings with her a white crystal orb. “This is an ancient artifact that is blessed by other Heavenly Gods. It will help you awaken your hidden powers, and reveal what divine blessing you possess.”

Thus, one by one, we touch the orb.

The red-haired teenager is the first. His name is Hiroshi Tanaka. As his hand makes contact, the orb resonates with a radiant red glow. A fiery aura envelops him, and in an instant, his eyes are ablaze with a brilliant crimson light.

“This–” he gasps. “This is incredible!”

“Can you tell us what your divine blessing is?.” Seraphina inquires.

“It’s… Inferno Sovereignty.” Hiroshi replies.

“What!?” The king’s reaction is fervent, his eyes bulging from their sockets.

Meanwhile, murmurs ripple through the surrounding crowd. Based on their reaction, I can already tell that Hiroshi just got an absurd cheat skill.

“Inferno Sovereignty…” Seraphina, too, seems visibly shaken and surprised. “This is an exceptionally rare and formidable divine blessing that bestows upon the wielder unparalleled mastery over fire. It is the most powerful fire-related divine blessing ever chronicled in our annals! Mr. Hiroshi, you possess something truly remarkable!”

And then, Takumi Saito, the pizza delivery guy, steps forward. Hiroshi's recently unveiled extraordinary ability has set a pulsating anticipation in the air, and everyone's eyes are pinned on Takumi with bated breath, the chamber steeped in a tense hush.

With each step, the silence thickens, the air taut with expectancy. Slowly, hesitantly, Takumi reaches out to the radiant orb. The moment his fingers brush against it, an ethereal gale wraps around him, and the orb bursts into a serene cascade of azure light. I blink, questioning my senses, as whispering voices seem to intertwine with the ascending winds.

“It feels like… like I’m one with the wind!” Takumi exhales, his voice a murmur of awe.

“Fascinating,” Seraphina murmurs, a glint of wonder in her eyes. “Can you discern the nature of your divine blessing?”

Eyes closed, Takumi is silent for a breath. “It’s… Zephyrus’ Command.”

A ripple of astonished murmurs spreads through the chamber at his revelation.

“Zephyrus’ Command…” Seraphina echoes, her voice a blend of veneration and astonishment. “This is…”

“What? What is this blessing, Seraphina?” the King interjects, probably because he doesn’t know what this blessing does.

“Your Majesty,” Seraphine responds, “this is a divine blessing of air mastery, allowing the wielder to command the winds, to attune to their whispers, and to synchronize with their currents. The wind can be gentle and kind, but it can also manifest into a devastating catastrophe. Once Mr. Takumi achieves a certain level of mastery, he will have the ability to conjure thunderstorms and summon tornadoes with merely a single thought!”

Hearing the Grand Mage’s explanation, an audible gasp sweeps through the room. The astonishment is palpable.

So far, two divine blessings are all god-tier!

But then, when Yumi Nakamura, the girl, awakens her ability…

“It’s… Whispering Leaves,” she utters in a soft voice, almost drowned by the deafening silence around her.

“Whispering Leaves?” Seraphina repeats, a hint of perplexity in her voice, “This is… a very subtle and delicate blessing. It allows the user to communicate with flora, understanding their needs, growth patterns, and even their ‘emotions,’ if one could call them that."

Murmurs ripple through the room, laced with disappointment and disbelief. Whispers of 'Is that it?' and 'What use is talking to plants?' hang in the air. A heavy silence descends, filled with the unspoken comparisons between the seemingly insignificant blessing Yumi received and the god-tier abilities of Hiroshi and Takumi.

Yumi’s face pales, the weight of the room’s disappointment pressing against her. But she stands there, her gaze lowered, a silent resilience in her stance. The King, slightly shifting in his throne, exchanges a quick, concealed glance with Seraphina.

Then, it’s the child’s turn. Her name is Hana Suzuki, five years old. She was living with her parents and two elder brothers in Tokyo before she got summoned here. Today is her birthday, so they were taking her to an amusement park.

Much like Yumi, as Hana reaches out to touch the orb, it doesn't glow as intensely as it did for Hiroshi and Takumi. Just a gentle pink light emanates from it. A wave of disappointment seems to wash over the room again upon seeing this.

And when inquired about the name of her blessing…

Hana is unable to read, so she couldn’t convey it to Seraphina.

However…

What in the world is this?

My heart abruptly races. My instincts scream that there is something profoundly concealed within Hana’s skill, something that might be of considerable aid to me. Unfortunately, due to her inability to read, there's no way for anyone to delve deeper into its nature at this moment.

Then, it’s my turn.

I stride forward and rest my hand on the awakening orb.

The room descends into strained silence once more. After the seemingly lackluster awakenings of the two girls, the expectations are palpable; they are clearly anticipating that an adult man like me will manifest a blessing as formidable as the boys’.

However, the orb doesn’t emit a single glow.

A grin stretches across my face.

This is perfect. I prefer to keep my ability hidden from these bastard deceivers, anyway.

After all, one simply cannot awaken something that has already been awakened.
