Chapter 127: Chapter 127: Online Shopping

Three garbage cans stood side by side like an unshakable mountain of trash, overflowing with waste and emitting a terrible stench.

Marcel Jefferson was searching through the garbage with a pitiful sound.

With so much trash to sift through, Purple Summers and Aria Jackson found a shady spot to sit and rest.

Purple curled her legs and put the crossbody bag over her lap, revealing a little crow with a bald head.

“Carrying it around every day must be such a hassle.” Aria found the ugly little crow amusing and poked its head.

The crow seemed groggy as if it had just woken up and didn’t react much.

“I don’t have a choice. I have to feed it every hour, otherwise, it will become restless,” Purple explained.

“Every hour?!” Aria exclaimed, “That’s exhausting. A cat would be much less trouble.”

Purple smiled, “It will only be like this for a month. Once it can fly, I won’t need to take care of it.”

In a month, the baby crow would leave the nest and be independent. With that thought, Purple felt more patient towards the little bird in her arms.

She didn’t mind the bird sticking to her, as eventually, it would grow and fly away.

Birds belong to the sky.

Purple didn’t want to confine it in a cage.

Upon hearing this, Aria disagreed, “Why let it go after you’ve raised it? It’s much more fun to keep it with you.”

She poked the little crow’s head again, laughing, “Look at how cute it is, all ugly and adorable.”

“That’s enough, don’t break it,” Purple moved to protect the crow, preventing Aria from poking any further.

Suddenly, a shout came from the garbage heap.

The two looked over.

“I found it! I found it!” Marcel held up a small cardboard box, his face filled with excitement.

Aria was surprised, “That was fast?”

“It might have been thrown away recently, so it was near the top of the pile, making it easier to find,” Purple said, praising Marcel, “Good job, Marcel.”

Marcel walked over with the box, amazed, “How did you know Chloe Bennett bought something online?!”

“I just thought that if it was premeditated, she would have bought some accessories to complete the act. After all, it’s not easy to deceive the doctors at the hospital,” Purple reasoned.

Marcel’s expression changed, “You’re saying Chloe bought… that thing from the internet?”

Purple neither confirmed nor denied. She opened the slightly deformed cardboard box and saw the contents, her mouth curling up into a wry smile.

“Either we’re really lucky, or this young lady, Chloe, isn’t very vigilant.”

She passed the box to Aria, “Take it and compare it with Henry Jameson’s DNA.”

Aria took the box, peeking inside before quickly closing it.

Her face showed a disgusted expression, and as she prepared to place the box in a sterile bag, Marcel grabbed the box from her hand!

“Hey, you little brat!” Aria yelled.

Curious, Marcel stared at the contents of the box, his tongue wagging, “My god, it’s so big, can she handle that? It’s even electric and washable, that’s really going all out. Why not just use her fingers? That’d be zero cost and risk-free.”

“To create the appearance of injuries from a sexual assault, she might have deliberately bought a larger size,” Purple said, analyzing the situation, “and using her fingers wouldn’t be enough to affect the doctor’s sample results…”

Purple furrowed her brows as if she’d thought of something.

“Marcel, can you repeat what you said earlier?”

Marcel looked confused, “Zero cost and risk-free?”

“No, the sentence before.”

“…Really going all out?”

Purple was silent for a moment before suddenly ripping off the tracking number on the box and asking Marcel, “Can you find the buyer’s account information using this tracking number?”
