"How did you come inside the car? And why are you here?"

"I have my ways," He replied, "Why are you here?" He did not expect her to come to States when the text he had left for her was too vague. Considering her temper, she should've ignored him.

"You do not want to see me here. Why?" She inched closer to him, gently stroking his face.

Mo Yuhan pressed a kiss on her forehead. Silly woman! "It's not that I don't want to see you here. It is not safe for you right now. You should go back," He replied. Of course, he was happy to see her here, he did not want to part with her.

"Nowhere is safe. Even when I was in Beijing, didn't I get attacked again and again?" She refused to agree with him.

"Lili, you…Fine, tell me, have you ensured your security here? Have you brought all the men I had assigned for your protection together with you?" He asked her sternly.

She averted her gaze guiltily, "I didn't…"

He narrowed his eyes before grabbing both her arms, "They were supposed to protect you. This is the reason why I did not want you to come!" He snarled at her.

She sucked in a sharp breath closing her eyes because of the sudden tremor of pain.

"Lili... What happened?" He gently wiped the sweat off her forehead, "Are you not feeling well? Did I hurt you?" He panicked.

"I.. am fine…" She smiled weakly, hiding her arm behind her back as she tightly hugged him.

"You are not. Tell me what is it?" He pinched her chin.

Tang Li lowered her head, her lips slightly as she batted her eyelashes, "I… I am just sad." Dammit, it is way too tough to act coy. How she wished she could be a natural actor like her grandpa sometimes. Sigh, it would have saved her many troubles.

"Why?" Mo Yuhan frowned.

She let out a sigh of relief inwardly; at least, he was distracted for the moment, "Tell me, what is going on here? As much as I know, Kingsman Faction is coming after me because of my mother then, what do they want from the military? Since you have already left your position, then why are you still linked with the military? What are you trying to protect?"

"Did Li Yu tell you about this? Seems like his demotion was not enough of a lesson for him."

She shook her head, "I threatened him to tell me. Don't blame him. So are you going to share it with me or not?"

He held her hand, intertwining their fingers, "Alright, don't be sad. I'll tell…" He trailed off feeling a sticky wet sensation in his hand.

Tang Li stiffened in his embrace. She tried to get her hand out of his grasp but he tightened his grip.

Done for! I am done for!

Hell, she even pretended to be a delicate woman and distracted him but it was all for naught.

She almost learned the truth.

He raised her arm gently and turned it around. His eyes darkened as he noticed a red patch near her elbow, fresh blood was oozing out and it was glaringly obvious in her white blouse.

"Mo Yuhan…" She softly called out.

No response.

Tang Li gulped, "Yuhan…" She gently shook his shoulder to get his attention.

Mo Yuhan closed his eyes as he sucked in a deep breath. "How did this happen?" He asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

He opened his eyes before trying to remove her blouse.

"Hey, what are you doing?" She grabbed his wrist.

Mo Yuhan held her hand before pressing soft kisses on her knuckles, "Raise your hands." And when she did, he tugged off the blouse from above her head. He looked into her eyes, "How did this happen, Lili?"

His gaze wandered off to her arm which was bandaged thickly.

She pursed her lips, trying to come up with a proper reply as she watched him taking out his phone from his shirt pocket. It was a new phone, but it looked quite different. She guessed it must be some sort of equipped phone that they use in the military for confidential missions. He seemed to be typing something on it…

She tried her best to come up with a proper excuse, but what reason could she give for an arms injury?

"I asked something?" His cold voice almost gave her frostbite.

"I burnt myself while cooking. It's not that serious," She lied with a straight face. Once she admitted the truth, that will only lead to more arguments.

He swooped her in his arms all of a sudden before covering her back with her blouse. The glass rolled down as a first-aid kit came into her view. As the glass rolled up, she recognized the man who brought it.

It was Li Han, Li Yu's younger brother, who recently replaced him as the Captain of Mo Elites.

Mo Yuhan removed her gauze which was soaked with blood before dabbing wet cotton on her wound. It was a gunshot wound but it looked more like a deep ghastly cut because the bullet had grazed past her arm.

Since he was not asking any further questions, she thought that he brought her explanation even though it sounded like transparent big-fat lies.

But before she could be relieved, he spoke up, "I want the truth," His voice was low yet harsh.

She closed her eyes in defeat. Knowing how stubborn he was, there was no way out of this, "It was a gunshot wound."

His eyes widened, "What?"

He would look into this matter anyway so rather than wasting his time, she decided to come clean, "I went to the museum after I got a hold of your location. I was trapped in a maze and later we got ambushed by some mercenaries. We had kept one man alive to interrogate him but that sneaky man committed suicide before we could get some information. I thought you'd be there but…''
