"So this is the zero floor where I can customize my looks and become a ruler,"

Whittaker said while examining this place, and occasionally his eyes flickered with bluish mana dots. This place was incredibly dark, and he had to use Devansha vision to get used to it.

Suddenly, blue crystals were released from the ground below, and the incredibly dark place got lit up by them. He witnessed a beautiful show of twinkling sapphire light illuminating the surroundings and exclaimed in excitement,

"Wow, so many Will O wisp!" The crystal-like substance that he is gazing at is called wisps.

He had read about these beings in the history book. These little blue beings were completely harmless unless they are harmed or angered. They will all turn malevolent if even a single one of them is accidentally crushed by him.

Jafar, the Monster Tower spirit also appeared when the wisps illuminated the pitch-black floor. As Whittaker looked about, he entered his vision.

Jafar was wearing the ancient traditional clothing of the Wind Kingdom. He was holding an emerald staff with two orb-like ends in his hand. Since this monster tower was located in the Wind Kingdom, he wore their clothing's for fun.

Jafar's ethereal-like hair gently dangled as he floated in thin air, purple eyes set deep within broad sockets gazed at Whittaker in remembrance.

"Ehhh, you are the boy that came with Zachary four days ago. Welcome to the tower child. You have already heard of my name and status from Zachary so I won't bother introducing myself. How about you introduce yourself, starting from your name," he said in a friendly manner.

The tower spirit welcomes every new contestant into the tower. There are about thousands of new registration every day. Naturally, Jafar alone will not be able to possibly welcome everyone himself. That's why he had split his spirit into tens of thousands of personas, each tasked with various chores. The one in front of Whittaker was just one of his many personas.

"My name's Whittaker but I would like to go by the name of Life Taker inside the tower," Whittaker replied.

The 0 Floor was the same as the beginning interference of a game where a person can choose his name, customize his avatar, and then enter the game as a player.

As for why Whittaker wanted to change his name to Life Taker, it's pretty simple, he wanted to hide his real-world identity from the templars and the followers of the church of light as he was going to use all his powers to climb the tower as fast as he can, and using Blood Drinker wasn't just a possibility. He will be using his S-ranked blood attribute weapon.

"Life Taker… ha, ha taking your looks and strength into account that's a very funny name but I will call you that." Jafar laughed, he found it amusing – a young boy who still hasn't killed a human calling himself Life Taker. "Is there any customization you want with your appearance?" Jafar asked.

The young boy initially blushed due to embarrassment. He believed that Life Taker is a very threatening name but the tower spirit said otherwise. Right after, he nodded his head in agreement to the latter sentence and said,

"I would like to change my hair and eye color to black." He activated his legendary skill Puppy eyes and stared at the handsome spirit with starry eyes, "If possible, shorten my hair and increase my height to that of an adult please?"

He wanted to completely change his appearance so no one will be able to track who he really is. However, his legendary skill didn't work on Jafar who has existed for thousands of years.

"No can do. That'll require a 1000 tower credit for every inch increase in height, and you have 0. At most, I can change your hair and eye color to black. The latter service is free for all, after all." He said.

The customization of one's appearance isn't limited but to change one's appearance by a wide margin required tower cash, and Whittaker didn't have any.

Knowing full well that he can't change the tower spirit mind nor can he afford to pay the necessary amount, he confirmed to change his hair and eyes black.

Jafar emerald staff shone eerily and the young boy's white hair and snowy eyes changed to a pitch-black color, and at the same time, a mirror popped up in front of Whittaker.

"Take a look at it. If you like what you see then just press confirm on the screen. If you want to revert to your original appearance then just tell me,"

He stared at his reflection in the mirror. Although the facial features were similar, the change in hair colors have brought a huge change to him. Previously, he looked like the prince of the moon and shared traits with the Devansha peoples but now, his looks didn't betray the name Life Taker even one bit. Furthermore, he seemed to look like the Scion of Night. Whittaker covered his forehead with some hair. He then pulled out a dark-gold string from his ring and tied up his hairs.

He was gifted a lot of jewelry and luxurious clothes by his teacher for becoming his teacher. There were a dozen sets of luxurious clothing sets stored in his ring. This dark-gold string ranked 2nd on the rarest jewelry, he had tens of them.

After he tied up his hairs, he looked handsome, dangerous, and mysterious, all at the same time.

"This will do just fine," Whittaker said. His looks were distinguished from his real-life appearance, and that was enough for him.

If possible, however, he wanted to change his facial features somewhat but he first got to earn tower credit.

"Since you are done with customization, the next step is to enter the Monster tower."

While saying that, the end of his staff touched the ground, and a teleportation spatial gateway to the first floor of the tower opened up.

Clink!

The spirit of the tower does not hold absolute power but he had the power to open an unlimited teleportation portal between floors of the tower.

However, the only places where the tower spirit could visit was the hundredth and zero floor. He was forbidden from interacting with the contestants by the "Rules" of the tower. The same rules that allows him to find potential RULER that will help him out to clear the mess and kill off the irregularities within the tower.

"Enter this portal and you will reach somewhere on the first floor of the tower," the tower spirit said.

Whittaker didn't move towards the portal. Taking this portal can land him into a death trap, and death in the monster tower came with two plenty.

A: Whoever dies permanently losses 100 units of mana or 2 units of battle energy from their real body.

B: Whoever dies can not re-enter the Monster tower for three days.

Each floor of the tower was a massive piece of land with different establishments, inhabitants, monsters, contestants, and a lot more. If he teleported into an establishment of an enemy race then he'll waste an entire day fighting.

Each floor had many Log-in/entrance and log-out/exit portals. Furthermore, to move from the first floor to the second floor a contestant has to clear certain quests and kill the floor boss.

'It will take a lot of time to do either one of them but I only have less than 2 months to reach the 31st floor. I might fail to impress Elder if I climb the tower in a normal way. However, there is a way to climb the tower extremely fast. For that, I need to become a ruler, and this floor has one such chance.' Whittaker thought.

"What are you waiting for?" Jafar asked with a low smile, knowing full well what this contestant wanted.

Although not many knew the secrets of the zero floor – and those who knew didn't expose the truth to others – he wasn't surprised that the young boy would know about the test of this floor. His teacher was a high-ranker, after all.
