"Wind Magic: Gargoyles Fist!"

The students and examiners watched with wide eyes as Yato's spellbook shone and an enormous fist condensed made out of stone materialized above the puppets. The shadow of the fist covered half the circular stage, and in the next moment, the stone fist came crashing down.

BOOM!

The stone fist moved with such speed and strength that it generated layers of wind. It was so powerful that upon impact, half the puppets exploded and a large shockwave spread throughout the circular stage, toppling the other puppets and causing Yato's hair to ruffle wildly with the gales.

The puppets stood up and started to walk towards Yato, who have exhausted all his mana in a moment and needed time to recover mana before he can use any spells.

He had no choice but to pull out his beast's weapon that was being nourished in his soul space. The beast weapon he used was a crossbow. He couldn't fight in close combat as he was a frail mage. However, using the crossbow that was carved using parts of Golden horned sparrow he could get a better score.

The bow was entirely gold and a combination of basic inscription stretched from its center and reached the edges.

As he saw the puppets striding towards him, Yato charged up the crossbow with the little bit of mana he had left while running around in circles. Then, the inscriptions on the crossbow twinkled as metallic arrows shot out with an incredible, each of them piercing the heads of the wooden puppets closest to him.

Meanwhile, Ruth also used his most powerful spell at the very start of the test. A flame hurricane swept through the area as Ruth used his water whip to spank the shit out of the lucky survivors who were mindlessly striding towards him. The whip was craved by the skin of the fearsome royal water snake. A magical beast that was the ninth most dangerous E-ranked magical beast. The whip was crystal blue and sprayed out jets of water each time Ruth provided it with mana. 35 units of mana for each time.

"As expected of the students who topped the chart of the previously held test."

"They understood that they need to use their most powerful elemental spell at the very start of the battle to decrease the number of the puppets, and then take them down one group at a time."

"That brat is a mage but has the stamina of a ranger. See how he is running around the stage with a heavy bow in his hand."

"The other isn't bad either. Although he lacks stamina, he seemed to have mastered the noble whipping style. Seems like he is from a noble household."

"A noble is different than a commoner after all," Lyon said with a chuckled. "Let's focus on Duke William's son!"

Shadow wasn't a mage. He couldn't blast a massive amount of puppets in a single moment. Nevertheless, he had no choice but to run up to the nearest puppet and slash his dagger at him. The puppet activated and punched out; However, along with the dagger, Shadow mysteriously disappeared and the very next moment, the puppet's head rolled on the ground as Shadow stood behind it.

All of the puppets from the surrounding activated and rushed straight at him.

It was 1 vs 99!

Shadow's eyes narrowed. Because this is gonna be a pain in the ass and it will take a lot of time to defeat every single one of them. The amount of battle puppets were overwhelming. Nevertheless, there was no a single trace of worry on Shadow's face. He was confident that he will win this battle.

Four puppets attacked him, but he dodged their attacks by ducking and then gracefully twisted his body. Then, he impaled the dagger held in his right hand in their chest with an incredible speed. The power supply was located at the chest area of these puppets. Hence, they dropped to the ground lifelessly as the dagger shattered their power supply. Then, right after Shadow poured three units of battle energy in his dagger and teleported behind the nearest puppet's group. The same thing happened again and then again, until only a few dozens of puppets were left.

"Kiya~ So Hot!"

"The rumors were all false! The son of duke Williams is not a trash!"

"Yeah, he was just being low-key to amaze everyone today,"

His display was like a chaotic dance utilizing various moves to achieve one purpose.

Amaze the Heaven and Earth!

To the students, it was as if a imperial King had entered the battlefield. His figure was was in continuous motion as he would sometimes bend backwards, sometime twist in a weird manner, sometimes appear behind a group of enemy, and sometime appear before the group of enemies.

Furthermore, the dagger clutched in Shadow's hand executed the puppets one after another, impaling right at their power supply area.

"What a wonderful display of battle tactics and skills. This is the difference between a noble and a commoner!" Lyon exclaimed in happiness. "Each of his move is calculated. The spatial step adds a twist to his movement and also allows him to repeatedly escape from encampments. His dagger's thrusts are ferocious, defeating a puppet everytime it moves!"

"Haha, this kid is indeed impressive." Old Miller praised. "He seemed to have found out the biggest weakness of this test. Although there are hundred puppets to defeat, at a time, only a maximum of four can attack. As long as one evade the attacks of the four puppets and counterattacks then getting a good score isn't a problem."

"Not really, it's all because his stamina is decent, even compared to high-rank battle master. A low-rank battle master wouldn't be able to repeatedly perform such complex movement repeatedly, after all, and they would be exhausted in a few minutes or so." Frankenstein shook his, disagreeing with Old Millers.

Headmaster Yeon eyes narrowed. "That's why he said that this Kid is impressive. But I wonder what Whittaker is gonna do. He has been standing there for a while, but hasn't even summon his frost spellbook."

"This commoner is abusing the time limit!" Lyon said, "I advise to lower the time limit of this test. Sixty minutes is too long. Otherwise, just like this boy, the rest will also idle and waste time,"

"I agree!"

"I agree!"

Lyon supporters supported his decision.

"Alright, I announce that the rules of the combatte test has been changed. Now, the time limit is of only 25 minutes."

This news was announced to everyone in the testing field. Whittaker innocently looked about and thought that it doesn't matter even if he were to make a move at the very last second of the test.

Contrary to what Lyon and Headmaster Yeon thought, he wasn't idling around. He was actually staring at the test of his friends, trying to see and determine how much they have improved.

Whittaker wanted to recruit companions for his household (Familia). As the honorary Wind King, he has taken on the natural obligations to join in on to Kingdom's familia competition that is to be held years later. Besides, winning this competition will provide him with a lot of resources. Thus, he was looking for companions.

And what better place to look for good companions that this competition?

Lastly, he wasn't met with dissapointed. Yato, Ruth, and Shadow display was excellent. Of possible, he wanted to invite them in his family. Nevertheless, he didn't find any other interesting guy.

As the time limit has decreased and there wasn't any interesting guy, Whittaker decided to end this test in a jiffy.
